These Chinese people bashed their own brands, Samsung, lg and iPhone was their preferred phone.....I was speechless

I am not surprised. Everybody has his own taste. Huawei and xiaomi continue to make good sales even in their home country.

From your post, it seems their main concern is privacy.

If one thinks of privacy too much, you will not even use a smartphone.
Whenever your data is on, just Know that you are not private.

Google, Truecaller, Facebook (including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, etc) and other apps such as games, email apps, etc are uploading your contacts and other data to their servers. All in the name of giving you better "service"

Samsung, iphone, Huawei, xiaomi, etc all upload your data especially when you are sleeping or charging your phone.

In the end, you just have to choose who you want to have your info.
If you don't want Google to have your info, don't use Android or Google apps. Which is almost impossible. grin

My Xiaomi Android phone switches off by itself whenever I am making call. Any solution to this?
And, the power button is very hard now to press, either to switch on or to switch off phone. Though, I bought it since April, last year, but all these started this year.
There's issue with your power button, either having cabon or something else.

Gptech:

Screenshot your about phone, let's see, have you updated recently? For the power button, enable quick ball, and add ' long press the power button' as one of the shortcuts, that way you'll be avoiding pressing the power button. Lastly, you can order for power button flex in the mean time, it's less than 1k.
before you order for power button, check if the power button is having issue with cabon

My screen is not bad. That's the phone I'm using now. Just d cracks that's making it odd.
If I get a replacement Touchpad, will it be something I'll regret for any reason?
order for your touchpad or glass depends on the one is using, we can separate the touchpad from the screen but 50/50 chance. WhatsApp OllyFairPhoneCare on 08025238024 for more info

What's the worst charger you've ever bought??

Mine: floveme nonsense that's qc 3.0 certified. Redmi 7 follow come charger with 5v-2a is faster than the so called quick charger.

Question: how do you identify a qc 3.0 certified charger?

I don't think redmi 7 supports Qualcomm quick charge 3.0
Check out the list of supported devices here.

https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list

Newer devices such as redmi note 8 are yet to be added to the list.

I know it doesn't support QC, but the Charger (Floveme) should at least be on par with the Redmi charger in terms of output/charging speed.
I stand to be corrected.

Yup, true. Redmi 7 supports just 10W fast charging.

You would have gotten a Celbro charger instead with both QC3.0 and a Normal 10.5w port.

There's a lot of Relevant background info to be considered here, including the way China works when it comes to Internet use and censorship.
The government monitors its citizens and the it has control over private Companies so it's not difficult to understand where those feelings emanated from. For all you know, those people were only able to chat with you cos they had access to a vpn

It's also true that companies mine data but some are worse than others. Google and Facebook are very concerning in my book and I try to restrict them as much as I can. I can't remember the last time I did a Google search or used chrome. These are small measures but it is something... I think
