Ademola47:all this one is long story. Are your parents connected to high people? Can they raise upto 500k if yes. Write jamb, even if you score below 200 carry your connection with the 500k and give the school VC matters closed. Go into medicine and come out with distinction. It doesn't matter the grade you enter with. After all my friend got 190 and doing medicine. Mtcheew 1 Like |

Sonfethopia:That is the obvious truth . i was a victim . it is simply because of the population seeking admission in medicine and surgery. I scored 280 back in 2010 and was denied admission because the cut off mark for catchment area is usually higher base on population.I am Ibo. Unizik tag the cut-off at 284.5 1 Like |

logan2: There's a difference between reality and fantasy. Fantasy is writing the same exam 7 times because you must become a doctor. Pointless rigidity. Which you believe is high talking. LOL. If you think that reality/logic is low talking, then you are one of the foolish majority in reality. You probably haven't achieved anything with your inflexible mindset. Why waste a long time fighting for what isn't coming when you can do it in another way? You are too slow to know that he could've read something related. As if being a doctor is the peak of the biological sciences. 1 Like |

mrvitalis: I can relate with your advice. It is very valid in UNN and UNIZIK. . I wasted three years of my life before I discovered this route. During your first year registration, you can change your state of origin back to your default state. |

Ademola47:you really need to change tactics .There is a saying that a fool is someone that does the same thing and expect different result. Let me advice you first in the area or pattern of study. I want you to know that consistency in reading a particular subject is far productive than reading haphazardly even when the accumulated time spent in reading haphazardly supersede the former. Let me shed more light on my initial comment by giving you an analysis or example. Someone who reads biology for 1 hour everyday for six month and has an accumulated time of 1 hr x maybe 184 days =184 hrs is far productive than one who spent an accumulated time of more than 184 hrs but skip the daily routine of reading. I am a living example of this fact. Reminiscing my preparation for jamb back in 2011, my jamb combination were Mathematics, English, Chemistry and Biology . The highest was mathematics(89) and the most annoying fact was that i spent the lowest accumulated time among all the subject except English but i made sure i study daily(i allocated only 45 minutes daily for math for that six month duration) . I even studied mathematics on Christmas day. i didn't miss studying mathematics a day prior to my examination. In general consistency in reading eradicates forgetting. Still in the area of study, try and cover the whole syllabus . please don't omit one. Study your past question often, usually, i dedicated weekends to study my past question more. Now in the area of school of choice . Kindly desist from choosing a school in your catchment area because of the competition involve . I will advice you to choose a federal school that is out of your catchments area. Go to federal schools in the north, south-south and south-east since you are from the south-west. And finally, pray and avoid every form of sexual immorality. 2 Likes |

I definitely know how it feels. To begin, what is your reason for your interest in medicine and surgery? If it is to make money, have a quick job after graduation, or to actualize your parent's dream or peer pressure, you should consider rethinking. If otherwise, you should bear in mind that getting what one truly wants isn't always easy. Hence, you should devolt more time in studying, praying, attend tutorials and study past questions. Most importantly, why waste your high scores on UI where the demand and competition is high. Seek other schools, especially the ones in your state or zone. Remember, no one would ask about the medical school you attended unless you have done exceedingly well or woefully wrong. Lastly, accept any other course given to you, have a feel of the university environment and keep applying while in school, even after graduation(Direct entry) if you so wish to become a doctor... PEACE!! |

mrvitalis:Say what you know clown.. You folks just lie all the time. I would have ignored you but I don't want the unsuspecting public to swallow your lie. Have you been to UI before ? In my set , we had so many folks from the south South , East and North. You don't have to lie and put others down to make yourself feel good. It reeks of inferiority complex.. Cc: DrMayor95 1 Like |

If we didn't have such a stupid and cumbersome educational system in Nigeria, a brilliant lad like that young man should have been in his third year of college. In the part of the world where I live and work, 12th grade students write only one final exams which determines which tier of universities they would attend (here universities are categorized into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tiers ). There's nothing like the meaningless university matriculation examination we have in Nigeria. Jamb has ruined a lot of dreams in Nigeria. Honestly, I Jamb should be scrapped. |

mrvitalis:No one enters UI with a lower score. The admission process is as transparent as it comes. The cut off and all is always on the university website. My name and score just like everyone else is still on the university website till now. Show me anyone who didn't get into UI after meeting the required cut offs and I would show you a pink unicorn. ciao ! |

Grandlord: His passion towards medicine shouldn't be swiftly ridiculed by you. As humans, we all have got our interests and strengths. Obviously, the boy loves medicine and he is so less concerned about the romance between the future and software. He has got a huge passion for medicine and surgery not codes and applications. Please, my brother. Anytime you meet passionate people, encourage them. Never lure them into loving what you love. Besides, work is not work when you genuinely love what you do. |

Ademola47: My brother, this is exactly how great people ply their route to success. You may think it's over and may be feeling weak. Please never do. There are many people with similar experiences and stories as yours. They are now living the dream. My advice to you is to understand some few things hindering your admission. In Nigeria, 1. You have failed to realize that connection to the authentic workers of the school can save you from this mess. Nigeria lives in the womb of corruption and it's so sad, she may never be delivered. My brother, Go to that same Unilag, Approach a Medicine and Surgery student, narrate your ordeal to he or she. (She is preferable) tell he/she to lead you to a lecturer or anyone who could help you get admitted there, you'll be amazed to realize that a lesser score this time won't hinder you from being admitted. Even if you pass the cut off mark, corruption may never let them pick you. In Nigeria, you have to know the horsemen, if you want a good ride. Nigeria is indeed a bleeped up country. All the best, brother. |

Go to a state university like OSU. The fees can be higher but certainly you'll become a doctor. Unilag, UI, OAU, Ilorin are all overrated and has too many applicants.. Also improve your O'level results to like A1 parallel... It also goes a long way to add to your overall points not just jsmb score. All the best 1 Like |
