I have this dell inspiron 11 3169 with me. It has refused to boot past the dell logo since a week now(it shows epsa diagnostic)
Today it finally refused to boot(blank screen). Each time I press the power button I hear a click. Anyone familiar with this?

Hello.
If it still displays, then the hard drive has finally packed up. Which in turn suggests that your data (all of it ) is gone with it....though some can be recovered via extremely technical yet not-so-cheap means.

Having talked about the gloom and doom, let's now see what you can do:;

You will have to get another hard drive, an of course install another OS.

If you'd like to get a list of my HDDs , capacities and price and possible help with installation , you can call/WhatsApp on 09082687404

*cheers*

Oh! Good to hear smiley

Now that it's all jolly and merry, kindly back-up your data on multiple locations (external storage).

Finally, as per the espa screen, this can be disabled in the bios. Google is your friend in this regard.

To get into BIOS, continuously press the F2 key after pressing the power button.

Hi.

SSDs are faster, more durable and are for the most part shock resistant....and are more expensive

HDDs are slower, less durable and are for the most part shock sensitive....comparatively cheaper, waaaay cheaper.

*Cheers* grin

Gurus,

I have one PC that died on me recently, and another one functioning well.

Can I simply remove the hard disk of the dead PC and put inside the working PC? (Wanna remove the hard disk of the working PC patapata). And continue using as if nothing changed without WIndows reinstallation or whatever?

Thanks.

No, I don't think I have answer to this.

I just want to ask if you have something to monitor background bandwidth usage whenever you are connected to the Internet. I haven't used Windows 10 on any of my PC yet (sort of old school). Knowing what's running in the background could give an idea of where to look to correct things.

On Windows 7/8, there's something called Status/Network Monitor (if I remember correctly because none of my laptops are on currently). You can use the tool for this purpose.

Alternatively, you can download a third party tool. Just try searching something like 'PC background bandwidth usage monitor' on Google.

i download the software stated i reduce the network bandwidth, block some process using network data, but stil yet each time i connect my modem to browse, once connected without opening any browser or connecting to any software the paket data increase by 1.2Mb/s in it idle state dont know what wrong. windows update disable, BITS services disable antivirus auto update disabled.

Find the culprit(s) first.

I charged my laptop to 100% three days ago. As I attempted to use the pc today, it refused to turn ON. I plugged it to a power source and I discovered that the battery was totally drained. After charging for some minutes, the laptop still refused to boot up.

I removed the battery and plugged the charger but the problem still persist. After several attempts using this method (without the battery) the laptop turned ON but this method doesn't work all the time as it seems tricky.
Please what could be wrong with my PC.

PS. Before now, I usually experience battery discharge (when switch off) and periodic touchpad unresponsiveness.

Yes, you can.. if it's windows 10, it will load properly, but If it's window 7, it may need a new OS installation

thanks for your reply...

Both hard drives are window seven.

Trying to avoid a new os installation as it will results in data loss.

hello engineers,
I have a Compaq presario cq62
two days ago, the screen light was acting funny by switching off, while content of the screen still remains intact,
at first someone said the lamp is bad,
but it came back working

today right now, when I switched it on, I noticed the colours are bleeding,
like red colours bleeding out from black background and light blues colours bleeding out of white shapes and background,

Am I to change the screen or the cable??

Please help me

My system has been infected with a virus

I think I got it when I was trying to download something online

The virus has messed up my system and nothing works again

Keyboard doesn’t work

I bought external keyboard, it worked for a while, now the virus has corrupted the external keyboard and it doesn’t work again.

If I click on a file or folder, it opens hundred times till the system screen is covered and the system hangs.

If I wanna install a file, the virus doesn’t allow it. Hence installing a virus remover is very difficult

I have scanned the system endless times with the exiting antivirus that was on the system before and it detects nothing, meaning the virus has a strong persistence

I can’t connect to the internet, connecting to the internet has been disabled.

Mouse doesn’t work again too, I bought external

If I try to open softwares, it crashes and doesn’t open

Many other things I cannot remember

My friend are saying it may not be a virus, that maybe my system is old and I need a change.

But what can cause a system to have all these faults at once if not a virus.

Please help
