It is simple. Enrol for a JUPEB programme attached to the Univversity of your choice. We have them in south West, South East and South South universities. These Universities include Ui, Unilag and Nsukka. Make three A's in your Majors and you will become a hot cake for these Universities and you know what, you get admitted on 200 level. Do not waste any more time with Jamb. Though the programme is a bit pricey. Price range of 300-400kfor the entire programme which is for a session. Roughly nine months I have a friend who is doing hers right now and they are many from different states. For what ever course you want this is the road to avoid JAMB. If you do not meet up for your choice of study then you get the very next your result qualifies you. The classes are intensive but if you put just little extra effort then it is a don deal for you because from your JAMB score I can see that you are a bright fellow. All the best. |

Ademola47:Am sorry to say, you sabi book but u no get sense. Are all the Doctors in Nigeria, graduates of UI and Unilag only? Apply for Medicine and surgery at a Federal university in the middle belt (Unijos etc) and see how they will jump at your cut off mark. |

Alexaonfleek: OP, this is the best advice you can get. I have a friend who studied medicine at Abraka, presently a flying officer in the military as a medical doctor. He wasn't academically sound but was pushed by his parents. You know how folks who are okay academically and grew up in Warri see ABK, our eyes were in Uniben, Uniport, Unilag etc. I knew making medicine in uniben will be difficult, so after the first attempt I switched to engineering which I got but regret not studying medicine. I have come to understand the school has little or no effect on the job market, what matters most is the course and grade. Only if you go to one of these prestigious private schools there you get some good connect. |

Try usmanu danfodiyo university, Sokoto. Cut off point for medicine for next admissions is 270. Udus medicine is at par with the likes U.I and co. Ask any senior doctor around you. Thank me later. |

Sonfethopia:he's actually exxagerating it. The reason is, the school's cut off mark for Educationally Less Developed states (ELDs) is lower than that of merit and catchment but in reality UNN is an Igbo school(in that they admit more igbos) |

EeyanMayweather: Lolx dont call him a clown. What he wrote is the truth. I wrote Jamb for 3yrs to study medicine and I am in mu final year.. South West Universities wont give a South Easterner a lower cut of Mark compared to the natives. I schooled in Lagos Kings college to be precise and South easterners had higher cut off than South westerners. I also applied to unilag for medicine. But in unn, the highest cut off South eeastern state excluding ebonyi then South west, South South then North |

InansBobo: He did not exaggerate it. The only thing he did was not making his opinion clearer. So this is how it goes to the best of my knowledge: UNN actually does the each state representation pattern he mentioned above. You are likely to find at least 5 persons from each state in a department like medicine. Let's take an example that the mbbs cutoff mark is 325. Then for instance if the highest score of an mbbs aspirant from a state like Edo is 300, you will find some other persons from that state get admitted with scores like 295, 290, 285 until the required number of student allocated to the state is complete. The reason why most igbos are admitted and still find it difficult to get admitted is that a a lot of applicants come from that region. While 20 students might be fighting for a spot from Osun state, 1,500 students from Imo will be fighting for a slot on merit. So you don't except a candidate with 300 from Imo to get admitted but a candidate from kaduna with such score will get in with ease. I'm not saying it is a good method but this is how it is done for MERIT admission. Once you miss a slot here, connections and the likes massively come into play. All in all it is easier to get admitted into UNN mbbs when you are from states like Edo, Delta, Crossriver, Akwa ibom, kano etc than it is with Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo and the likes. Major reason why a trend now in UNN is to change one's state of origin. It's isn't fair but the system is already twisted. We can't play dumb and sacrifice our dreams. Everyone needs to get smart. I wish all aspirants the best this season. God help you all. Good luck. 1 Like |

Slimdan360:I get you bro but I feel people think it's easy because it is a state university forgetting the fact being a state university doesn't mean the standard is low but las las...... If you really prepare well especially in Jamb but there is no textbook to read for Postutme except past questions so a high score is needed in Jamb which most people applying for state universities don't have because they are less competitive. |
