my brother am just amazed at how history is repeating itself with this buhari, during his reign as a military head of state this same scenario played out people were also leaving in droves then, even hunger too was pervasive then as it is now, people were queuing to get milk, rice, sugar and other necessities which were termed essential commodities then
Before babangida came to the rescue
You can now imagine people routing for the same person to come and re enact same scenario are people not crazy or cursed
Welcome to Nigeria where even dogs reason properly than some human being. Tinubu and Co knows Buhari very well but they wanted the federal power by all means therefore they have to ride on the back of Buhari who have massive followers of illiterate and unexposed northerners. Had the people down South here most especially the South West reason properly and que behind Jonathan we would have avoided this mistake but No they all wanted to remove Jonathan and enthrone their perceived Messiah.

It is imperative to state that No Matter how useless a 'leader' is, there will always be people who agree with him/her .

Our message should be geared towards enlightening members of the public on the need to support and vote for people with track records...not because of tribe, ethnicity or religion.

But it is hard. Democracy is best practiced when the people have the ability to think for themselves.

Sadly, Nigerians are not there yet...and may never.

You may have to start all over again. Your degree in Nigeria is not fully recognised in Canada. You will be lucky if you graduated from one of the well recognised universities in Nigeria e.g U.I. In that circumstance, you will have to take the deficient courses lacking in your transcrip to make it compliant with Canadian standard. This may take you years. Your problem will start with English Language Test. Depending on the threshold set for you. If the require clb 8 or 9, then you a gonna. You may have start your university programme all over if you can't satisfy the requirements.
However, such situation will not be a problem because there are several facilities on ground to make schooling convinient. But no time for laziness.
The serious ones will not regret it.

I'm keenly interested in this case, I also would like to know what it's really gonna look like to leave Nigeria as a lawyer and go practicing law in UK, US or Canada. How can that be possible? What are the steps to be taken?
You will finally become a yellow cab driver or warehouse, janitorial or catering staff.

If you didn't graduate from a top Canadian or American law school and have good connections forget about practising law in both countries.Except you want to be a charge and bail lawyer.

Thanks for your objectives. Some people never see the bright side of evry situation

India , Pakistans ,United Kingdom United States citizens are the highest migrants to Canada.

This says a lot about Canada and not the country the immigrants are migrating from.

Nigeria contributes to the less than 2percent of the immigrants.

Many are coming to Niaja as expatriates and are making it here. Go to the airport and see how many Boeing plane with capacity of more than 350 passengers land every day.

When I am migrating to any country or any Nigerian t will not be based on country, but rather if I have the capacity to sustain myself and family. Not going to struggle or start life all over again and hoping for better. I can make it here easier than depending on warfare .

You forgot Chinese, they make up the most immigrants in Canada and USA

It is typical of underdeveloped economies that they do not (or are not allowed to) concentrate on those sectors of the economy which in turn will generate growth and raise production to a new level altogether, and there are very few ties between one sector and another so that (say) agriculture and industry could react beneficially on each other.

Furthermore, whatever savings are made within the economy are mainly sent abroad or are frittered away in consumption rather than being redirected to productive purposes. Much of the national income which remains within the country goes to pay individuals who are not directly involved in producing wealth but only in rendering auxiliary services-civil servants, merchants, soldiers, entertainers, etc. What aggravates the situation is that more people are employed in those jobs than are really necessary to give efficient service; and to crown it all these people do not reinvest in agriculture or industry. They squander the wealth created by the peasants and workers by purchasing cars, whisky and perfume.

While am not holding brief for Buhari, nor am I an ardent supporter, yet I need to correct your historical narration because I was old enough at the time to recount what really happened.

The queue for essential commodities at the time was not especially due to Buhari's policies inflicting hunger on the people, but the people were already impoverished under Shagari and it was no longer easy or cheap to purchase food items like milk, vegetable oil, sugar, rice etc. Buhari, therefore, ordered that provision of these food items, most of which were hoarded in warehouses, should be distributed to the people. He essentially continued in Shagari's policies of austerity measures, reducing importation of food items etc and refused to devalue the Naira. He, however, sought to make up for the hardship the people were facing by distributing food to people who otherwise wouldn't have had access to it.

Well

What I'm sure of
Is that these countries will continue to fish out our best brains through all manners of tricks and schemes

While leaving the already useless and condemned country to slip further into its uselessness

Like I keep saying in this forum and elsewhere
With the way the flow is going
Nigeria will be populated mostly by agberos; thugs; cultists and economic deadweight in 10 years time, which will further push this useless country down the abyss

A country that revered Mc Oluomo and Yahoo boys is already down that path

cheesy cheesy

Please please please please please!!!!! Stop posting these hogwash comments THE BRITITSH DID NOT FUCCKING UNDERDEVELOP AFRICA

Africans are naturally lazy and unproductive human beings.

You are making it sound like Africa was somewhat technologically advanced or better off and the British came to take everything away.

Let me give you an example, the crude oil in Nigeria has been under our feet for thousands of years. None of your lazy and unproductive African forefathers had evolved to the extent of exploring these precious resources let alone developing it for productive use. It took the Europeans to come all the way from their continent and identify, locate and develop these materials that we are killing ourselves over in the name of Niger Delta militancy.

Look at the SECOND NIGER BRIDGE. It is an European company that has the technology and competence to build such a structure that is undergoing the project. Meanwhile the fuccking retardss in the host community are giving the contractors a difficult time over peanuts that they believe is their entitlement. No indigenous engineering company has the capacity to build such a bridge without it collapsing by the start of the next rainy season!!!

THIS IS 2019 FOR FAKS SAKE and the most populous black nation on Earth cannot build a simple bridge!

Don't mind them

it was his policies aggravated the situation and he did not distribute anything to anybody,he just use his WAI to ensure people queue orderly for the products
The truth is that he can never change he is as he was over 30years .if it is not shagari causing problems for him,it is Jonathan
But the fact speaks for itself

Absolute hogwash! Nonsense and senseless anti-Buhari narrative (from the East I bet!)

Anybody who says Babangida came to the rescue is either MAD or an irredeemable ignoramus.

You term them "essential commodities" yet you cannot (to this day) produce them? The Shagari regime had already stolen all the available dollars so what exactly did the expect the Buhari regime to pay for the imports? The banks in Europe refused to accept letter of credit from the Nigerian central bank yet some Nigerian fools expect the Buhari regime to continue with food importation without money.

Oga please go and revise your history very well. Buhari did not introduce hunger to Nigeria, it is the Nigerian people that refuse to go back to the farm to grow enough food to cater for the population. At least 50% of the people in Lagos, Abuja and other major cities should be on the farm instead of wasting away in Lagos hungry, unemployed, poor and making babies.

Keep blaming Buhari......
