Now to the price of the screen. Samsung supplies most of the amoled screens in the market. I was viewing this thread when someone complained that his LCD screen of his RN7 was bad and he took it to their newly opened service centre at ikeja. And they charged him more than the cost price.

I was also here when a pleasant person advised his brother to return his Mi9t because of cost of replacing the amoled screen. And unfortunately the screen of the RN7 despite being gorilla glass gave in some weeks after.

Now to hit the nail on the head. Amoled screens cost far more than average screens. It is a well known fact it is not a Particular Samsung issue. It is just how it is. Two amoled 32 inch screens at home got broken. Cost of replacement was going to be more than the cost price. Its common to amoled screens

It was a Mi A3 not Mi 9T

Yes I admit having separate storage for files is the best for easy recovery. But nevertheless the hard drive can be easily corrupted. And I doubt with constant usage whether it can stay up to 5 years

I think you were the careless one with your words. All doesn't, even in the stone ages, mean most. So quit trying to twist things and stick to learning from your mistakes.

Truth is, the fact that a phone supports up to 1Tb SD card doesn't mean a large percentage of its users actually use 1Tb SD card. There are alternatives to storage and people are becoming more aware of "other options" other than SD card. Cloud storage, Hard drives, OTG flash drives are fast replacing SD card (...although SD cards still have their importance.) If you've a phone of 128/256Gb ROM, chance are that you MIGHT not need an SD card.

There's no harm in learning just as there's no shame in making mistakes. The only problem is trying to justify your fallacy of hasty generalization by using English. Not a good thing, really.

And to add to this movies videos can't be uploaded. I think data accumulated in the upload and download of that data will cost more than your SD card.

Btw if you uploaded for lack of space and your phone memory is equally filled with important data . Please answer me Sir, were do you turn to?

SD card can also be corrupted. If you are scared of HDDs, SSDs are there.

And alot of people are still buying the iPhone without SD card support.

Most people keep things in virtual/cloud storage instead of their memories these days.

If you have a laptop or OTG flash drive better. Who needs SD card these days.

Bros abeg,

What's your advise for someone like me that wants to upgrade to the RN8 cos of dedicated sim slot, a better ram too? Cos this my 3gb ram is kinda frustrating me most especially with GCAM, the thing(gcam) go just dey hang oninown then close..

Would you rather I fashee the RN8 and get a flashdrive so I can use both sims or?

Is there anything that can be done about the ram management?

Cos I still loff ds my phone O.. I'm having this silent fear that the RN8 could be worse. Make I no go from frying pan enter fire.
Thanks.

Very true Sir , but most importantly fixing a product that is still under warranty with an unaccredited repairer will remove the warranty.

And the stress of re ordering a part, waiting for shipping , visiting the post office and looking for a capable repairer. All these processes will extend not less than 7days and up to a month

You can even change it yourself, the screen comes with a kit. Also any good phone repairer can change it. Xiaomi phones are not rocket science.

Ordering of screen or parts is not limited to Xiaomi, when I was using Samsung S4, I had to order an Lemon battery from AE because I couldn't get a good replacement battery around my location.

S9 and S10 use shared Sim slot according to GSMArena that is, hybrid and not dedicated dual slim slot. So the "all" in your post eh, I don't know what to do with it.

PS: I only posted what I saw on GSMArena.

Yes true Sir, but I wouldn't want to upload a favourite movie of 1gb. Only to later download it again from cloud for another 1Gb. When I could have kept it if I had a large memory card. It is duplicity of process and in its entirety a waste of data.

Data that could have been used to download newer movies. Apart from using cloud to store some important picture moments. I find storing my recoverable data on cloud repulsive.

Although if you have the excess data to give out. It shouldn't be much of an issue.

These phones are built to last. Not some phones that its lifespan extends just for 2 or 3 years. If I can afford a note 10+ why can't I afford a Sd card. And continuity is what Samsung looks at. Without deleting heavy pictures and reselling. There is no way in 5 years time that 500 GB won't run out. For a pro 1 tb might run out sooner than later. As most films are 1gb +

I'm sure cloud storage isn't designed for heavy data. It's for important and easily recoverable data like pictures, documents (PDF and co.) If you want to save movies, I'd root for OTG flash drive before memory cards.

Personal choice why upload a video you didn't make or probably downloaded from somewhere and can easily download. I even a lot of peeps who don't download and keep music but stream it anytime they feel like on Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal.

Netflix and co is there as well though. It is all because of the nature of Nigeria, the world is moving past that era.

He's just placing unnecessary importance on micro SD cards.
I remember advising a potential client to go for OTG and Cloud backup instead of memory card as he emphasised on keeping important files on it, na that my advise drove am away till now. When you have a corrupt SD, it's always hard to get them recovered unlike OTGs/HDDs.
People should be guided and learn.

Not Google certified, you have to Sideload Google APPs. Also Chinese version comes with lesser LTE bands than the Global Version.

RN8 don't have Global Version yet only the RN8 Pro for now.

And as for the RN8 Pro if it is offered in Nigeria it will be cheaper than AE.

Also know that the RN8 Pro Global Version is more expensive currently by a distance because it just came out, the price will stabilise with time.

Now if you can handle Chinese version/ROM limitations go with it.
