Useless forwards aside, what do you guys think could have been with a midfield of....

---Fernandes---McTominay---Pogba
??

Within a month, McTominay's lawyer will take United to court with a complaint of 'workplace endangerment'.

That's because Scott will be doing the defensive donkey work of two midfielders that are absolutely fantastic at losing the ball to opposition.

Scott's attorney will charge United with trying to kill his client with overwork.

Jokes apart, I don't think Pogba and Bruno Fernandes can work in the same formation. What we need is a midfielder to partner Scott who's fantastic at setting the tempo of the game and distribution while also cutting out passing lanes with good positioning which can allow Pogba go forward and McTominay can help with picking up the pieces.

I'm talking about a player like Frenkie de Jong but I think someone like Sandro Tonali could do a decent job.

LOL

If Fred, Schweinsteiger, Mkhitaryan, Matic, Di Maria, Herrera, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Depay, Sanchez, Martial and so on could flop, what's the assurance that Fernandes will deliver?

Put any decent midfielder in place of Scholes in that Manure team and Manure would have still perform as well as they did then under Ferguson.

Is this the same Scholes that is the premier league best midfielder or another one?
His highest output ever was in the 2003/2004 season with 14 goals+ 4 assists. He was only able to rack up such numbers only once in his playing career which proves that season was a fluke.

He obviously is over hyped. Only Manure fans will mention Paul Scholes in a discussion of Premier league midfield greats..
does goals and assists make one a top class midfielder, How many assists and goals does Xavi and Iniesta has even Zidane does not score so many goals or assists

I am cool with Pogba playing beside Scott, he should build his game around dictating play from deep with the occasional burst forward...Fernandez can be the 10 we need to make our midfield click since Ole is hell bent on playing 4 2 3 1...

McTominay is already doing all that and nobody died. He'll be fine.

Agreed. McTominay and Pogba at the base, with a new AMFernandes who can provide multiple assists and also get on the scoresheet occasionally.

I hope this club wont be unfortunate to the point of thinking we can finish this season with these players. They need to get an AM and if possible a RW in January. Getting a CF will be a stretch.

I don't think the person meant last season, he said previous seasons, we all know last season was bad save for the honeymoon period.
We started struggling from the two seasons ago, that's why even though we were 2nd, the gap kept getting wide between us and City that season. The season before that we ended up 6th. Ajax totally outplayed us in the final of the Europa. We've been terrible for some time now, we shouldn't forget that

These are also Man u fans.

Xavi: Scholes is the best midfield player of the last 20 years

Marcello Lippi: “Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team - that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. He would have been one of the first players I’d have bought, given the chance”

Zinedine Zidane: "one of the biggest regrets of his career is not getting the chance to play with Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes."

Wenger: Fabregas can be the next Scholes

Micah Richards : "He's always in the right position, always seems to be at the end of the box when the ball drops in. The complete midfielder - when he's fit, he's the best. Some go missing but he's in the right place at the right time. He's my favourite player of all-time, unbelievable. If you give him a chance it's a goal, isn't it?"

Alan Shearer : "If you ask footballers to pick out the player they most admire, so many of them will pick Paul Scholes. He can tackle, and his passing and shooting is of the highest level. He’s the most consistent and naturally gifted player we’ve had for a long, long time."

Eidur Gudjohnsen : "I'm more an admirer of Paul Scholes than I am of Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a fantastic player, but he has 10 other great players around him every week...Scholes is one of the most complete footballers I've ever seen. His one-touch play is phenomenal. Whenever I have played against him, I never felt I could get close to him."

Edgar Davids : ""Every one of us (midfielders) is just trying to become as good as him. Everyone can learn from Paul Scholes."I'm not the best, Paul Scholes is."

Cesc Fabregas : "He is the one whose level I aspire to. He is the best player in the Premier League."

Patrick Vieira : "The player in the Premiership I admire most? Easy - Scholes."

Thierry Henry : "I can't understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it's because he doesn't seek the limelight like some of the other 'stars'.

Zinedine Zidane : "Scholes is undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation."

Sam Allardyce : "There is not a better midfield player in the world."

Kevin Keegan : "What United have got that Chelsea haven't is Paul Scholes. I think he is different to anything else in English football."

Marcello Lippi : "Paul Scholes would have been one of my first choices for putting together a great team - that goes to show how highly I have always rated him. Scholes is a player I have always liked, because he combines great talent and technical ability with mobility, determination and a superb shot. He is an all-round midfielder who possesses character and quality in abundance. In my opinion, he's been one of the most important players for United under Sir Alex

Ray Wilkins : "I'm saddened because I think we as spectators, not only in this country but right through out Europe and the rest of the World, will be missing one hell of a footballer.

Gordon Strachan : "Paul Scholes has been the best England midfield player for 30-odd years. You'd probably have to go back to Bobby Charlton to find someone who could do as much as Scholes. When the ball arrives at his feet he could tell you where every player on that pitch is at that moment. His awareness is superb."

Veron while at Chelsea being asked in an interview who's the best english player : "Paul Scholes."

Laurent Blanc : "Scholes is the best English player. Intelligence, technique, strength... all the attributes are there. At Manchester United I saw what he could do on the training field. Phew!"

Over hyped Englishman that was part of a very good Manure team.

Oya come and tell us what Schole's exceptional attribute was. We can clearly see from his miserable output that in terms of goals, him no follow.

Assists nko, his highest output in a season was 8 assists.

U claimed the only exceptional attribute Lampard has is his goals and he ought to have more assists as a midfielder despite the fact that Lampard had double figure assists in four different seasons.

Now, tell us wot Schole's exceptional attribute is for him to be considered in the bracket of great midfielder because if na assist him no follow at all.
