US embassy still issues visas. If your plans to run away, you better don't go close to the embassy. Find something doing in Nigeria and God will bless it. Two persons I know got holiday visa last week. All genuine travellers. They said lots of people applied ND lots were rejected too. A lot could not defend their applications. If you think they don't do a Lil research before your interview. You better think again. So next time when you step up the counter with your lies, the only person being fooled is you. Stop wasting your money. Stay in Nigeria and build.

Hello everyone, was introduced to this forum by a friend. I'm a legal residence in UK and i was denied US conference visa in 2017 the officer was concerned with my financial ability and then i ahd about £3,000 in my account. I was also denied before in Nigeria Lagos in 2003 so I told them the truth. Also I have visited France in 2005 and 2006 twice from Nigeria. I also visited Bulgaria last year 2018 for two weeks with my wife and one of my kids. Now I would love to visit North America, i was considering Canada but because of the processing time if fear i wont receive my passport in time before i will return to the UK, but this time i would like to apply for the US from Nigeria because i will be travelling to Nigeria in few months time so it won't meet up my time to apply in UK. I am married with two kids in UK but i currently lost my job. However, i have landed properties, bank statements and investments in Nigeria, also a registered company though not currently in operation as i am working towards that. Do i stand a chance of been approved in Nigeria? Or do you think Canada would be better? I just want to visit North America and return to the UK. Thank you.

Pls, go ahead and apply with it. I renewed my visa in May with a passport that will expire this month October. I travelled with it in August and I returned in September. Go and apply and renew next year.

There are no booklets now and you have to pay higher to get it within days.

Oh thanks a bunch for this contribution. I'll do exactly that

@johnokoro,Your situation isn't bad to be honest and you still stand a good chance, your 2017 refusal was in the U.K?with my own knowledge and experience,I will advice you apply in the U.K and with your wife or the whole family, 9ja option is not very good right now, moreover the VO will wonder why you are applying in Nigeria when you have U.K legal residence, again you might have to wait until you get a job as this should also improve your chances also note that in 9ja you might be given enough time to explain yourself, best of luck.the gurus in the house might have a better option for you.

You are already a legal resident in UK and it does not make any sense to leave the U.K to apply in Nigeria.

1. You are about to burn money on flight to Nigeria just for a B1/B2 visa which is not guaranteed.
2. You are about to leave the U.K to face the excess crowd of visa applicants in Nigeria.
3. Consular officers operate using the same principle regardless of their location in the world so if you are thinking consular officers will be nicer at another location then you are making a mistake.

There are some personal information you need to learn to keep to yourself.
You do not need to expose yourself so much by revealing details about losing your job. lipsrsealed
Please do not go to the embassy at the interview and tell the consular officer that you lost your job because that will be an instant visa denial.
Life is about taking chances so make a move and reapply.
No visa is guaranteed especially a U.S B1/B2 visa so no one can tell you about your chances.

If you study the trend at the U.S embassy you will discover that consular officers do not issue visas because you are just being truthful. All these talk of being truthful is bullshit as far as I am concerned. shocked
You can be 100% truthful and still be denied multiple times.
A consular officers will only issue a visa as long as your story sounds convincing in accordance to their laws. undecided
Millions lie at the embassy with plans to run away and some get issued visas while others are being truthful but they get slapped with visa denial left and right. grin

@olu,you are not good to go from a personal experience (my elder brother),all of you including the new born should take a trip together even if its to Rwanda, kenya or Ghana cos that question will arise.my brother, wife and son has good travel history, when they applied(the first time) with their new born(4 months old)they were refused on the ground that, they have not (all) travel as a family, they went Rwanda,(7 days) in May,reapplied again in September and visa was granted one hand.

Thank you for your input, I really do appreciate. Please have you gone through my original post? I'm asking just incase you might have other advice.

As a Nigerian with permanent residence status in an E.U country and a frequent visitor to the USA. I think the fact that you are currently not working will count against you. This I know cos in all the times I renewed my visa they kept asking if I was working and if i had a temporary or permanent contract where I work. I had a permanent contract and I was issued.

Na so I be dey strongly believe too. Just that this una Bubu wey una give us no dey make am look so.... It is only by God and individual effort that the hope lies now, not on the government as led by that man you guys "voted twice, TWICE" according to and as emphasized by @Ugosample.

Buhari na dream killer, while dumbly allowing/committing the greatest heist and rape of our collective patrimony with his gang! I hope you know the failings of our government is adding more to the stringent hurdles Nigerians have to face to procure these visas? How person for do if to say we never first bam? I have several well doing friends and colleagues that got done with Naija and Buhari and have taken a bow off the Nigeria stage to the US and Canada legally and illegally so to speak, people with brains oh, additions to any society they will ever find themselves, another twist to brain drain surely. You remember what the liliputian Ngige said to and about our doctors previous year, who does that?

My better half and I have good jobs in the Nigeria context, both Canada and America citizen kids (except for one), they already have an edge no doubt, the major reason I'm less bothered and not willing or thinking to exit this stage. But for others, they are mostly doing it for their kids, not necessarily because of an all out willingness. A bank manager friend of mine when I probed why he gave up and exited did say being in that sector all he was seeing was bleakness and doom that the general public may not see, and he doesn't want to regret not taking his children out of it while he had clear cut opportunities to do so. I'm talking of people leaving with several tens (almost hundreds in some cases) of thousands of USD to booth with and as shock absolvers to whatever the new system will throw at them initially.

MAY NIGERIA BE GREAT!

The guy's bitterness taya me.

when you habr travelled to different countries across three continents And look back at where you come from and how shitty and disordered it is, you will understand my "bitterness"

Many Nigerians who are used to the uselessness in Nigeria can't see it, that the country is headed to the abyss

A business buddy of mine even told mr that Tinubu may replace a Buhari when we met last week

I was like shocked shocked

How can Istanbul be so organised and my country of origin is a dump,?
How can Dubai be so put together and my country is dilapidating and smelling with so many stupid people in one place?

How is it that everywhere I have been to, the only countries Nigeria can square up to infrastructure and otherwise is Shitty Liberia and finished Sierra Leone (maybe Burkina )

You guys don't see the impending doom, but I see it and it troubles me.

your cbn is wasting 210m USD EVERY WEEK
plus HiGH INTEREST PAYMENTS TO FPI investors to keep naira "stable "

thsts STUPID

on top of that
racking debt like a drunken sailor with nothing to show for it.

You really think there is no trouble?

Anyways this is a VISA thread, so this is off topic

but I just had to rant.

The very fact that only the well off and may be a thin fraction of the middle class can enjoy to keep the fans on in a humid night (of course with noisy gen And diesel ) while millions of others are condemned to sleep on heat and mosquito, a "luxury" that even a cab driver who lives in Abobo, or the make who lives in Treichville takes for granted is just sickening

but at the end, it's everyone to their beliefs at the end of the day

Do you think your ranting everywhere will make things better or cause more damages?

Do you think Nigeria itself as a country have problem or you people ”Nigerians” is the problem of the country...... The country that is blessed with natural resources!

Some Nigerians abroad has to be blamed also..... Those countries shutting their doors, do you think is because of what's happening in Nigeria or overstayer ?

I definitely know what's happening in Nigeria and talking down of the country does nothing......
Nigerian leaders are corrupt but almost 70% of the citizens are also criminally minded....
Put something on the table, what do you have to offer.....
Nothing?
Ranting?

Nobody is holding anybody down.
If you have the opportunity to travel abroad, pls go.
Americans also travel abroad if they had a better offer.

To me Nigeria is not the problem, blame yourself ”Nigerians”
