I wud advice the young lad to choose his words carefully. U don’t to say all this because I’ve been called up. If England rejected u won’t u join Nigeria. Don’t sound like an opportunist

Nigeria produced Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Finidi George, Victor Ikpeba and etc.. These guys were great footballers during their time, If Nigeria could produce these guys then who the he'll is Tammy? Just bcus he scores cheap goals for Chelsea he s now a hot cake.. If nor be corruption wey dey for Nigerian league we go fit get thousands of better players for our league.. We should just forget about this guy abeg. I'm not in anyway mad at him though, he s got every reason to play for England cuz he was born and raised there.

Is he an indigene?

Does living in a place make you an indigene of the place?

What makes one a foreigner or an indigene is determined by the law of the land.

He was born in England and holds their passport by their law.

What then makes him a foreigner?

Another Gabriel Agbolahor in the making. Gbolahor was way better than Tammy yet he was used and dumped, Dele Ali is already done representing England, Late Ugo Ehiogu got the same treatment. John Fashanu still regret till date for dumping Nigeria. Ameobi changed his decision when it was too late. And host of others. The English team has never retained any player for longer period except when they are extremely good like the likes of Beckham, Lampard, Scholes, Shearer, Rooney, Lineker, neville, etc. Tammy and Fikayo will be used and dumped as usual.

Goodluck, enjoy ur short term career at the International level.
there is an equally long list of players nigeria used and dumped. Please make some research.

Don't mind our people, when the guy was struggling to find form and stability, we didn't even call him to play in a friendly or any youth match.
Now that he has scored 7 goals in 8 games, we are running after him like flies .

Rubbish, I never expected him to choose Nigeria.
It's actually 8 goals in 8 games.

That's the mistake he's made.
Look what has become of Dele Alli but what do i know? This country is bad enough for someone to place their trust in her.
Hope him and Tomori do not regret their decisions.

He's a foreigner by ancestry, not an indigene.

What makes one an indigene is ancestry and origin, not a piece of paper. I was born in Lagos, but nobody will call me an indigene of Lagos.

Europe is not America, that everybody was dumped there. They have indigenes, and then there are settlers. Tammy is not an indigene and he will not be an indigene simply because he has a paper that says he was born there.

There are people who are indigenous to England, if he was one of them, nobody would be throwing racial slurs at him.

You have made the right choice, a country where athletes borrow kits from opponent to participate in same competition, is that a serious country? Patroticism my foot. Even it is one game you play, it is better than playing in afcon that i dont know if they have paid the price money to competitors. Dangle a canada visa, you would find out the country would be empty, even ajala the traveller would abort this ship.. tueh.

Not always though. One can be so good they can't ignore. See Raheem Sterling, for Instance, with Jamaican ancestry.

As I said, the proper determination of who is an indigene is based on the applicable law of the land. BTW the opposite of foreigner is not indigene, it is citizen.

Someone holds the passport of a country and you call him a foreigner based on the socio-cultural norms of your own micro society. You then back your argument by claiming that racial slurs are evidence that he is not an indegene. So racism is now a function of ancestry not race?

Then explain why Marcus Rashford has also had racial slurs hurled at him. Or is he also a foreigner?

Marcus Rashford is also a foreigner.

Any black person in England, is a foreigner. Rashford, Sterling, RLC, Wan-Bissaka, all of them are in the same WhatsApp group.

And the opposite of indigene is foreigner, alien, nonnative. Google it

Regret awaits Tammy Abraham in 5 years time as England will use and dumped him once he is out of form, while other African player like Sadio Mane will flourish until retirement in the national team.
Nwobi will be a super hero as well for taking the right decision.

The guy have dual citizenship & British passport is more potent. He didn't applied for green card o , remember, he was borne & brought up over there. He has never even set his leg on Nigeria soil.

Worst case scenario is if they give him few caps, he will still be relevant over there.

Sola Ameobi that came to represents Nigeria in world cup, where he is now? Newcastle, managing their Academy. Remember, he's a dual citizenship owner too.

Some of our past players, Okocha, KANU, Ikpeba, Udeze etc. What roles our government gives them now to add values to our sport world!

I dont have to google anything. Those are simplistic synonyms, I am giving you legal reality.

But if we adopt your logic that the opposite of indigene is foreigner, it defeats your own argument because one cannot then be an indigene and a foreigner at the same time. So if one holds a British passport he is obviously then an indigene as passports are not granted to foreigners.

Is that not obvious?

The truth is that only White People are regarded as indigene.
The fact that you're born in England with Nigerian or Carribean father does not make you acceptable as an English despite your British passport.

The only obvious thing is that Tammy Abraham is a foreigner, in the real essence of it, and when the time comes, he will be reminded of his true place in England. You can bandy about a piece of paper all you want, but it won't give you a place in the end.

yes represent England, Nigeria is not a place. if u were here nobody would av chosen you to play for under 18 here, rather Nigerian politicians will be sending names to the coach based on slot. I support u represent England, try ur best for them, with ur formidable performance u can be their number one striker irrespective of other strikers, your performance will speak for u.

If you migrate to UK legally ie with a job offer, you're entitle to apply for citizenship after 5 years.
You will be able to apply for British passport after naturalisation in sixth year, and become an indigene.
That does not make you acceptable to the White people that you're an indigene.
You're an indigene if your parents are Whites and if the colour of your skin is white.
That is the reality.
Kanu Nwakwo is a British passport holder having spent more than 5 years in England , but Kanu or his children will never be accepted as an indigene even if they choose to play for England in the future.
