Thegamingorca: It seems you know one or two people who didn't get a job after studying?, so could you tell me what course they studied?. Living here and with what I've experienced, I know people who study courses that aren't lucrative find it hard to get a job here after studying. And you don't necessarily need networking to get a job here tbh. I personally know a PhD student, who has a job waiting for him after his PhD and he doesn't know how to speak German. And no he's not in the IT field. And his publication isn't even out yet. If you do the right thing, you can get a job in 18 months. By doing the right thing, I mean studying the right course, learning German and having good grades!. 8 Likes |

marcondo13: Gbam!!!. That's why i said it's not for the lazy ones!. It's common sense that as a black person you have to work twice as much to prove yourself. That's the reality you have to accept. How will someone take semester break here to learn the language and end up not learning the language. When it's time to get a job and German is required, they will blame the system but you had time to learn the language and you didn't!. 10 Likes |

It simply means that you can not sleep on Delilah's lap and expect to wake up in Abraham's bosom. Every country have certain requirements and demand for some skills and less for others. This is the basis of skilled labour migration. You can check the areas in high demand online. Thegamingorca: 4 Likes 2 Shares |

marcondo13: Spot on! If you are from arts or social sciences, then you have to prepare to go the extra mile to achieve your German dream, because you have German natives and other EU graduates jostling for the same job with you. From my exeperience, there is what they call "Mangelberuf", = "understaffed profession, if you course does not fall into this category, you are will be at the bottom of the food chain. Just so you know, don't come and study English and Lit. to Phd. and expect to get a job. kolewerk. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

Kennyubah: Just look at how youve derailed that thread. If You want to understand the genesis of the talk on this thread come here and start from where I praised germany for having quality education. Why this thing is paining you further serves to prove that its nothing but the truth that its whats happening there. Talking about Nigeria abeg no make me laugh. I've never said you shouldn't encourage ppl in your inner circles to go out there and flip burgers...I'm just saying that the caveat of getting pr from getting a job in your field after study pretty much 18months after graduating is really rare. Neither have I said Canada is all glory and flowing with honey. What I even said about Canada was that it would have been far fortunate to escape with the express entry to Canada and do menials than to get stuck up in Deutschland. Why?! Because you get almighty PR while landing. And passport after 3yrs. If it wasn't the truth...You won't be so vexed or bothered about ppl I might be discouraging cos you'll have been laughing it off. You think I'm happy that Germans are so discriminatory like this? Haba! ! The reason why your obviously vexed by this is cos you didn't ask questions only to be humiliated with the truth on arrival peace Be like you'll need to calm down.. The menial jobs are not bad. Stop misunderstanding ppl. Shey nah English be your problem sef Stop derailing that thread...there are jobs in Deutschland but you'll hardly find in your area of specialization finish Cc this page for more info. https://www.nairaland.com/5185821/should-move-uk-return-nigeria Buliwyf, Welcome!!! |

In every top G20 country, that is the koko of the future, but it depends on the politics too because energy transition is on going, with varying level of support from the govt. But my opinion is that the focus is more on research and innovation than on actual operations because, many companies are still finding their feet due to low subsidies when compared to fossil fuel companies. Just my two cents. ferguson1: 1 Like |

How do graduates of those courses cope in Nigeria, an English speaking country, compared to their fellow graduates in other fields? You already know the truth and answer to your question! It will not be easy because, the market space is small! Icesnow: 1 Like |

Thegamingorca: I find your post amusing and irritating at the same time. There is a difference between seeking for information and wrong analysis of gathered data. You keep talking from both sides of your mouth, posting diatribes and making snide remarks. It is only a man who can not get a match ticket or purchase fuel for his generator that will demean the El Classico or the World Cup final! It is similar to standing at the pearly gates and tell saints not to enter heaven because some sinners have been forgiven, and are already in heaven! Where you want them to go? Remain in a Nigerian hobessian society, where life is short and brutish, because Germany weeds out the smart from the good and average? Ever read the Aesop fable of the fox and the grapes? 1. This thread is for students. Are you a student? If yes, 2. This thread is meant for those ALREADY studying in Germany, and are sharing their experience. Are you studying in Germany? What experience do you have to share, with dates, locations, university, and course of study? If yes, My advice is simple: pack your bags and return to the cowlony where everybody is a criminal according to Falz, a country where all the youths are lazy according to Buhari, and the people don't know what hunger is,according to the Agriculture Minister! Leave others to suffer in Germany. They are not complaining. They like am! My advice to all: It is either you travel or reserve that money to pay for ransom when kidnapped. marcondo13: Nah nah this thread is specifically a question and answer session btw ppl in germany and folks in nigeria. Not necessarily only for ppl based in Deutschland. You might want to look at the signpost on your way out the thread. Youll notice its a question m8 lol You know what's funny You guys think I'm antigermany The lot of you even stopped quoting me, even Jane. But I've never for once said ppl shouldn't go to Germany. Hell bruh, I'm still here despite knowing all of this. I've never for once said living there is pointless. You guys think I'm discouraging ppl on bases of making money when I mention dudes flip burgers out here for a living when what i mean is ppl ought to do diligence to know what to expect before landing deutschland lol. What im really just against is the fact that there is a gross misconception of the statement on their immigration policy especially on that how to make it in germany website where ppls eyes feast on day in and day out. Student migrants rush there in hopes that when dey are done dey quickly land a job in their fields within that 1.5yrs and qualify for permanent residency and begin the ladder to citizenship. This is a fantasy for most. Its surprising to know that these ppl need us foreigners to survive as a culture because dey are a dying race; yet dey leave that sentence unattended to. What should really be there is, "if and only if you land a job btw 1.5 yrs in your field of study after masters are you now entitled to a permanent residence status and can begin your steps to the German passport." Again what that website and daad wont also tell everybody is that as far back as 2010 roughly a negligible amount of ppl "2000" landed pr yearly as against the hundreds of thousands that flocked into the country under the impression of the dream. Very saddening one can't even substantiate if the numbers have improved or worsened since then. Even German citizens find it insanely difficult to get jobs after master's in their field more so a foreigner. I also guess it's no ones fault when dey end up being among the 99.8% of ppl on the short end of the stick, yearly cos most of them didn't decide to dig deep enough, old friend. Life in germany is not bad at all. Heck It's a beautiful country with loads of beer. Everywhere this issue is raised netizens go wild and scream fowl that it cannot be. Germany works lol. But none of ehmm come down with facts and figures to show proof that ppl are achieving pr status. Without marriage to barmaids ofcourse. So also you guys just rant and whine and profess to witness the system working but it's always some friend of a friend's friend y'all always bring to the table. Let the reports and stats show that so so amount of pr were handed to so so amount of graduates who landed jobs before the end of 18months. Let everything be transparent and then ppl will judge better. I said the latest one I could get my hands on was one off the grid stat of handing PR that year to only 2000 graduates as far back as 2010 That realization in itself is enough to make ppl sick. What the hell do dey now do with the hordes of thousands upon scores of thousand of folks accumulating geometrically with each year faster than a cesspit of blokes infected with Aids? I'm curious to know if perhaps dey brainwash most ppl who fail to meet up with the dream or a vast majority just don't really care to speak out or some contracts are being signed to that effect lol or dey somehow absorb them. Cos the YouTube channels all everyone on quora or reddit always says positives. But were are the stats? You said I'm bringing wrong analysis of data. Lol tell that to that kid that got fed up with the system early April and was debating whether to come home or not. https://www.nairaland.com/5185821/should-move-uk-return-nigeria Whether Deutschland dey secretly pay all of una for cheap publicity is beyond me. But what is really going on concerning pr for migrants in Deutschland? Bring your own facts with links plz of the system working 1 Like |

I stopped quoting you because I realised I was dealing with someone who thinks he's so smart in a discussion he knows nothing about. You really want us to come here every day and whine about the negative sides of living in Germany which have been mentioned on the German thread countless times, which can be found online too. Are you frustrated and angry you just realised nobody go give you PR just because you studied and got a job within 1.5 years which to me doesn't make sense. If you read their immigration laws clear enough you will see that time spent as a student doesn't really count that much. As someone not on student visa, I'm eligible to apply next year after 5 years of living in Germany but if I were on student visa I would have not qualified for PR because the rules are different. You talk about us not sharing the bad sides. The bad sides which I'm sure have been mentioned here again and again include the language, racism, difficulty to get a job after studying if you need to know the language or if your course isn't lucrative in Germany, being on tight schedules because of studies, rude officials in the foreign office, juggling two jobs at the same time, difficulty to get an apartment as a student. Others can add theirs too and I strictly mean only people living in Germany!. What again do you really want to hear. Pr this pr that. Some of us just want to live in a system that works, that's it. If you want pr, come and get it . 11 Likes 2 Shares |

This one wey you Dey quote me one second then reedit. Lol It is well. I never said you get pr while schooling. The law clearly states you are eligible to land pr as a student migrant after schooling or being a graduate of a German institution of which you must have landed a job related to your field waiting for you before graduating or in 18months after graduating You asked me to cite another example of a disgruntled person...other than the nl guy I give you Carlos Paul Snippets 2 and 3 are probable brief summaries of himself...
