Nigeria Debt to GDP ratio is less than 20%, Singapore is 150%, lagos internally generated revenue is $2bn yearly while its debt stands at $1bn... so Lagos debt is very healthy so is Nigeria debt, just that other state are borrowing to pay salary while Lagos uses its for economically feasible project like BRT and Lagos boat service that people can enjoy and pay for

I have one bt can’t drive everywhere and everytime. I’m not a Uber fan like dat unless I hv company and I was in a hurry. I’ve used the buses in the past and it was generally fine. That’s probably one of those rare situations. I hope.

All plying the thin and over congested Lagos roads. . They need to create other means of transport in Lagos.

A light rail project or intra rail system will solve Lagos traffic issues hugely.

Also, water ways should be equipped with more commercial boats. .

There are loud potholes everywhere. How's the the Badagry expressway doing and Lekki-Epe? Are they being paved? What of the elevated train, the money for 800 buses I am sure can complete it.

Ambode's govt bought 820 BRT buses in the last year of his government, now Sanwo Olu the picture snapping governor said he bought 800 again, please where are these buses because when you get to Ketu, Ikorodu, Costain and CMS and you will still find a lot of people on queue waiting endlessly for buses that may not come soon.

Great development,I am a resident in Lagos and I envy the vision and pace things are going in this present govt. even though it could be argued it’s not he’s project or idea from the jump atleast he knows how important it is to see a project through.i pray other states grab sense like this man and put aside pride and grow their individual jurisdiction.

The governor made the announcement via a tweet, where he also announced the commencement of the expansion of the BRT lanes in the state.

According to the Governor, “Beyond road construction, we have started expanding the bus rapid transit system and gradually reducing the danfo buses on the roads. I am excited to announce that we have purchased over 800 buses to add to the existing BRT fleet expanding to more routes”

“We are supportive of private investment in transportation that is non-exploitative. This week, I launched @UberBoat, the first of many private-sector efforts at providing safe & efficient water transport working with our water transportation initiatives.”

The Lagos BRT

The Lagos BRT was established on 17 March 2008. It is the first BRT scheme in Sub-Saharan Africa. It started operations on a 22-kilometer radial highway BRT lanes that connect Mile 12 and Lagos Island. That is, it ran from Mile 12 through Ikorodu Road and Funsho Williams Avenue, Eko Bridge up to CMS.

Former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumni Ambode, in May 2017, donated 50 new BRT buses to the private operator of the BRT service in Lagos.

Primero Transport Service Limited is the sole BRT operator in Lagos State.

Even a thick skulled person knows that government has no business in business but with 800 buses enough padding must be added to offset campaign cost and the party rats....


For a governor who asked for permission to borrow 200B from the state house this week....the smart thing to do is to give operating licenses to the private sector to pump in idle funds....we will be seeing as .much as 5000 buses witbout breaking a sweat....saving govenrment funds that can be used to fix to world standards gullies they call roads...

The same magic Sanwo Olu claims to have performed by building and reconstructing hospitals and other major infrastructure within few months, which he was busy commissioning up and down.
The only thing I can decipher is that Sanwo-Olu takes many APC supporters to be fools,easy to sway with lies and projects,almost all of which,from simple sense,he couldn't have conceptualized,negotiated,secured their financing and executed their commissioning with his short, pathetically inept governance thus far.
Even governors with far more insight and with all intact faculties cannot have been able to do all what Sanwo wants his gullible party faithfuls to believe.
