Sabaugo: Get the one month pay and take off and manage your 42k. You've survived this long without a job, then why should a job reduce your livelihood? Believe me, you won't have the time to look for another job because they'll choke your entire life with work. "Rev. Sis." is not her name. It's just a title. |

Businesses in Nigeria are going through a hard time to succeed. If you feel the job is not convenient for you, you should quit. Posting it here to give people chance to critize a Rev. Sis won't solve your problem. My advise for you is to improve on yourself and get your dream job. Even the government cannot help you, so finding an individual who's running their business to give you a chance is something you should put in your best. You don't expect to get the same level of privilledge people in multinationals get working for a private business. It's not something we can help. This is where we find ourselves. And we have no option but to buckle up and grow. You may say suffer suffer for once. But you should rather hold gov't accountable rather than an individual. You will complicate issue by allowing this post beyond this. Because if your principal hear of this, she might fire you. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Sabaugo: Take it to that level, don't let any one push you to the wall, she is not God...although its too early asking for a raise, try to find a way to make the work easier on you, you can get students to assist you, or find someone you can pay like 2k to be assisting you.the secret is to work smart, not hard, hard work don't pay more like smart work. |

You work in a school and you don’t know the difference between Am and I’m or Silent and Silence. You should find another work. 4 Likes |

sylvez:I don't know what you guys expect. You have to understand what missionary means. Nigeria was "backwards" and undeveloped. White men came to colonise and develop it. Christian missionaries came along to teach people Christianity and to Educate them. People in their own Church in Europe/UK, contributed money, tithe, offerings, and gave them to come and use to build the school and pay salaries. When my dad went to school in 1947, he didn't pay school fees. He didn't buy books, He didn't buy uniform, mattress.. Nothing. There were only 250 students from class 1 to class 5. School had 8 standard size football fields. Principal was a white man. Everything came straight from UK to Nigeria. Nigerians foolishly assumed that missionary schools will DASH you FREE EVERYTHING FOREVER. The missionaries trained teachers then when we got our independence in 1960, ALL the white people and Missionaries left. They've built school for you and educated you and taught you Christianity. Now run the school yourself. Educate others and pay teachers their salaries. Get your own church, government and rich men involved in sponsoring the Education of the youth. It is now our Nigerian duty to pay all the salaries, other monies needed to run the school. The Reverend sister there running that place HAS NO MORE CONNECTION WITH UK. She is looking for money to run the school. Nigerian Governments have not supported the schools. Instead they send double/triple number of students there to over populate the place and run down all the facilities. The lady offered you N45k. She is not a business woman. She is doing Charity work HOPING AND PRAYING for rich people to sponsor, contribute and help out the place. But Nigerian people never donate their wealth to missionary schools. White people from UK donated their wealth to help you build it in 1900. And you still waiting for them to dash you their money again? Are they fools? When will you use your hand to maintain the place? The Rev sister did well to cut your salary to N42k. She is telling you directly that that is not a place for making money. If you want to make money, go and find another work. This place is for DONATING MONEY. Without Donated Money, the place will TOTALLY collapse. There would be no more education for the poor children. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

thelastorca:She claims to be a Reverend Mother, an epitome of a Christian woman, but she is still bearing grudges to the extent she is ignoring the op's greetings. That is hypocrisy. Though the OP was wrong, is prematurely asking for a raise a sackable offence? To your question: NO, I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE WHAT THE REVEREND DID. The staff apologized, didn't she? Even after the salary was reduced, she is still being petty by ignoring the OP's salutations. Pettiness, hypocrisy and unprofessionalism. 3 Likes 1 Share |

seunmohmoh: the 3k was a disciplinary measure to make this ungrateful woman understand who is the boss there... and that they will not be pressured into accepting BS. to make her point sink loud and clear in that woman's mind, she reduced her salary even more. before anyone can ask for a raise, they should certainly PROVE to their superior that she is indeed worth the raise. 4 Likes |

Sabaugo: Pay increment after one week Honestly ur boss is a kind person to still keep an idiot like u on the job, if na me u r a goner. To ask for pay increment u need to prove yourself a great asset first for like a year first. He should have reduced your pay to 25k to force u to resign but like I said he is a kind man. 3 Likes |

Stop feeling sorry for yourself, it's not the end of the world, mistakes made lessons learnt. What has response to the greetings got to do with your life. Do your job very well, stand out with good qualities without eye service, chin up and be proud of yourself, dont discuss your boss or your matter with anyone, it wasn't her fault, be prayerful, look out for opportunities to proof your worth, and keep eyes on the labour market. Finally, always look at jobs as a seed for future opportunities even if the pay is less and dont ever look or sound desperate to your employers or give them room to look down on you. Continue the job and pray for better one. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The op is obviously naive and inexperienced, which is why she did the stupid thing she did, but unless she violated company rules, I don't see why she ought to have been sacked. Those of you shouting "if I were her I would have sacked you" are the kind of employers who believe they hold the destinies of their employees on their hands. Shior. 6 Likes |
