Bolt don't take commission from your toll bro.
You can always check this thing yourself.

When you close work, calculate the total tolls you paid, substract it from your revenue.
Divide the remaining from your revenue by 100 and multiply by 80. Then add the toll to it.
It will give you exactly what is showing on your Net earning.

Eg.
You made 15k(tolls and commission inclusive)
Your paid #900 toll that day.

15k-900 = 14.1k.

14.1k/100 = 141...

141*80 = 11,280.

11280+900 = 12,180.

12.18k is what your net will show if you earned 15k and paid 9h toll in a day.

Chai!
Calculus again.
Even for ehailing.

Bros lock up... You know only what is available to you. I gave you the name of the company whose CEO drove on my ride you are here speaking English. The CEO is worth more than 200milion in naira. Go and look it up and stop trying to change the subject matter. You're not the only one opportuned to meet these people if at all.
Note... These people understands the risk of what they're doing but trust their guts! Even a common man like you has value sir.

This argument you guys are getting into is ridiculous for real. I'm a CEO/director of multiple companies both here and overseas and I will NOT get in Uber in Nigeria. None of my counterparts will either. We use Uber for deliveries and for my employees but not for us. In some European countries and US maybe but not here. It's not a pride thing. It's a security thing. when you are a target for competitors and desperate people you don't just get in any vehicle. On this thread I see some examples of why I wouldn't. There are some shining stars here that I wouldn't mind taking an Uber with but what are the odds of finding one?

I cannot kee myself or be dragging with someone so my life is easier. Just like when I gave my opinion as a rider on cancellations and it turned to fight. I cannot be quarreling over trivialities so why open myself up to that? There is nowhere I need to be that in an emergency I need an Uber. They will wait for me. That being said, I value other people's time and am where I'm supposed to be when I say I will and I expect the same from others.

Forget this argument. The people you are arguing over are oblivious and you could be using the energy to make more money and become like them.

P.s. 200 million is really not high net worth. That's just half a million dollars. He's doing well but that's not high net worth. Let the crucifying begin.

if a driver misbehaves, i report him, if a rider misbehaves you report him as well. it is simple. it is not about disliking.

why is it that so many of you can only think backwards?
a person reporting the wrong thing is wicked, is an enemy, is a bad person, does not understand.

you are free to hate and dislike me. if i believe an employee/partner of a party i am doing business with is trying to play a fast one, i will report.

if i go to a fuel station and the attendant is trying to run game - i am calling their hotline straight
if i go to a store and someone tries to sell me expired stuff as new - i will report it
if i go to gazzuz or rdautoworks tomorrow to fix my car, and one of their employees is trying to run game - rest assured i will be telling them straight up this is what is happening. the employee is free to call me all the names he wants, even go to his church or mosque on the matter.

you don't want issues, you RESPECT yourself and do the right thing. you do the wrong thing and you get busted, you man up, chin up and face the consequences, rather than whining about wicked people who do not 'know what you are going through'

May I test your integrity and professionalism as you claimed with this simple request.

Please don't Quote me again.

I once carried D'ja from mavins record Head office to Banana island, I didn't know she was the one till we entered Banana island gate.

If I had known, what will I do?
She's not even the one that made the request. So the issue of exposing your contact is defeated.

That's what people don't understand... Anyways, na our mentality dey cause am... We place alot of value and regards on the so called high profile individuals, cos las las we believe Oga go smile on boys.

Imagine where a Prime Minister will ride bicycle through 10 blocks to his office or a CEO will ride a bicycle 15-20mins from his to his office.

Nigerians will see Mr. Spell buying corn and they all gather just to see him. Then you go hear "So this guy dey follow us eat roasted corn"

Abeg like I said, let's leave this argument, our value systems are different. We all don't value people the same. I might see someone you regard to as a high profile citizen as a mere individual trying to survive, maybe cos I am related or know him beta, while the one I dey comot cap for be upcoming thousandnaire to you.

Three steps...

1. you remove toll.
2. multiply by %.
3. Add toll back.

Your's is faster though.

There is no down payment.
The driver is experienced in the job
3.5m is the total HP cost and the car is tokunbo

Is there a down payment?

Is the driver a new man or experienced on the job?

How much is total HP cost?

Please the grand fathers in the house, is 2003 Toyota Prius a good deal for Ehailing? I discovered it has a very big advantage over Corolla at about 42/41/41 mpg against 28/36/31 mpg (city/highway/combine).

My concern is the cost of maintenance and availability of parts and reliable kazeem.

How about this comparison... Advice needed

reason am na
company is paying for your car [2019 range/lexus/land cruiser]
company is paying for your driver [fully trained in defensive driving]
company is paying for your vehicle fuel and maintenance
compay is paying for your pilot and police escort

there is no advantage an uber will give a CEO over his\her official car.
not comfort, not safety, not convenience
your uber will have to wait in traffic. CEO pilot will blow siren or drive one way. sometimes, staff will wait to follow ogas convoy so they can make it out of gridlock

you do not even know how responsible or careful or well trained the driver is. it is a roll of the dice.
[not one uber driver has EVER asked me to put on my seat belt]

what comfort can i get in 2003 corolla with fabric seats over 2019 suv with full entertainment system, leather seats, tinted windows?

it is the same hold up you will face going out of the office in your car or in the uber.
the only thing i can conclude is that oga at the top wants to do something off the books

one time our ceo was doing site inspections and no one could tell exactly where he was going [over 100 possible sites he could visit]
he was nitpicky so the plan adopted was always try to fix up as much as we could before he got there.people were running ragged trying to plan. but some people in the loop would simply spool out the info from the man's driver

a driver is a person who knows a lot of ogas secrets and plans and company info. driver will hear ceo talking about sacking people etc.

thats why i see runs as the most likely reason for an oga at the top with fully funded transport to be using uber. because he wants to be incognito and he doesnt want his enemies in the office setting him up or figuring out his habits.

also because entertainment of that nature may be against company policy if official vehicles are involved

we had one useless indian oga one time who was carrying runs girls in company premises. one day one stole some stuff. the guy started making noise and then management gave him the talking to of his life. really humiliated him. from that point on, any runs the guy did was out of town. na so the man begin organise out of state trips to scratch his itch.

all this talk about being down to earth is something simple people say.

as for people talking about otedola - you have no idea how paranoid naija ceos are.

Please let's forget this argument before it will linger like the last one that Spartacus initiated.

The truth is this, riding uber depends on individuals and the state of their minds and needs per the time of request.

A top notch CEO can decide to ride on Uber and still have his security details with him... Maybe 1 or 2 and you won't even know. Some even sneak out just to have that freedom you and I have, without any security personnel body checking every of his movement... Or do you think they too don't do nkoro things?

It's true a very high profile CEO must and is always advised to follow the guidelines of his security details to avoid stories that touch. However, remember Hon. Rotimi Amaechi when he was the Governor of Rivers State used to ride around the city on a motor bike doing inspection on projects. I had a chat with one of the security men assigned to him then. He said he doesn't give any signal that he wants to move, he just mount and speed off, they have to start making radio calls to track him down.

We just give too much value to people in this part of the world, that's why we don't believe these people can decide on few occasions to live a normal life, even if it's for just 30mins. Moreover, no be everybody know everybody, even when you hear their names on a reg... Like me, If Otedola or any of his child or whatever takes a ride with me, I won't even know, cos I don't know him in person or taken note of how he looks.

The same Spartacus initiated this argument with another handle, can we just ignore and share experiences people will benefit from. Only the jobless tarry on argument!!!

I have decided not to bother. From a security and privacy perspective, only a very foolish high net worth individual would use uber. If you want to compare tobi of bbn with a ceo, that's fine.

You realise multinationals have security offices that issue safety warning bulletins? Do you know the amount of risk exposure I would get as a ceo riding uber? My phone number would automatically be available to people outside of a closed circle. That is a safety risk all on its own. You people think all ceos are created equal? You think ceo of gtb bank is the same as ceo of cakes and cream?

Some things are not worth arguing. It is however interesting to observe thought processes and rationalisations.

Theres a thread on fp where a babe started getting calls from a driver. I cannot begin to imagine the nonsense that would happen with a ceo, in this Nigeria, especially with Nigerians wey no get filter. Common sharing my phone no during close meeting, I started getting yahoo calls from the abroad

Guy rest this matter abeg. I've driven a very high networth individual, his number was even a foreign number when he opened Uber in UK. Your experience is very limited. In other countries, high networth individuals do not shy away from mixing with 'common' people, they use Uber, train etc.

I know a CEO of a real estate company in Abuja, he used uber here in Lagos, mind you he goes with security details; the 'Police Spy' type. He only asked Me to book for him offline! The random Uber dude took him for 4hrs from Ikoyi to VGC and he paid through me even when I didn't go with them. The uber guy equally understood and let him go even when he was told I will be paying him.

Back when I did Uber, I once picked a top guy at Parkview, the request came from his assistant and if not for all the respect and running around from his aides, I won't have known he was a big shot.
High networth does not mean high risk. The CEO of a company worth $10b may not be at same risk with another worth $5b.

You're being too condescending with your narratives. If I may ask, with all your contacts and exposure, what are you doing in this forum. Are you here to indirectly belittle drivers and show superiority complex. People with the kind of exposure you claim to have do not dwell in inanities.

High networth does not mean high risk. The CEO of a company worth $10b may not be at same risk with another worth $5b.

You're being too condescending with your narratives.

Fortunately a CEO in this thread has already answered.

The benefits of an Uber ride cannot outweigh the risks in this country where police never solve kidnaps.

I am sure you understand that every kidnap always has an insider involved.

In this country, the murder of our ag was never solved. I remember when our ceo was in a legal tussle with a former board member, next thing was to go and bulls proof his house

The only possible security you may get from an Uber is that in traffic robbery, they go for the suvs first.

It is true bro. The Ford Mondeo has made me bankrupt, i can't even face my people again, despite spending 174k to fix the damn thing, the problem of accelerating slowly when in motion still persist.
The Ford mechanic who have been working on it ( Oxygen sensor ,rare brake pads, serviced transmission engine and shock absorber ) asked me to change the complete fuel pump and filter which i did but sorry is still my case.
My reason for telling him to get the Camry.
