Probably the pressure to maintain the pedigree.

We are a dominant force at this age grade. And they know it. So they must keep up with the standard.

You think I'm here to drag ethnic rubbish with anyone? Has any of my Post on this thread ever shown that I support any particular tribe?

I don't know what your posts here have shown, I just made an observation on that particular line.

It is not as if these boys were posting great performances pre-tournament, so, of course, people would not follow them as much, couple that with all the controversy surrounding the selections, and the fact that we didn't qualify for the last tournament which made the momentum drop exponentially, you would realise why people have not been following them much.

If you are not here to drag tribal things with anyone, this is what you ought to point out as the reason for their poor following, not the two tribalistic people that posted that you should gravitate towards. It is not as if they had a lot of supporters to begin with.

Unless it is another thread you are talking about, there was not enough tribalistic posts or supporters on this thread, for you to come to that conclusion, unless you were looking for your own opportunity.

As I was watching the U17, I was only looking out for their natural abilities. Amoo, Tijani. Olusegun were all there. Tijani & Amoo are all natural, they play with ease. Olusegun is quick , but very skillful. The other lad in the defense Ikenna, I think is also there at the top with his ease of dispossessing opponents. These 4 lads I think has the natural abilities they can develop from. Going further. Our U17 always use speed and stamina to kill off other teams. But these will not take u far in football. So believe it or not , these players I mentioned are just the pick among the bunch among the outfield players.

Oga, forget long grammar. You can't confuse me with that. I'm not sparsely educated.
The post I quoted was very specific. You said Eze will play for the Super Eagles when he secured big contracts and endorsements. The pointer you threw was very clear and you viewed the situation from a position of prejudice, assuming the narrative that the marketing value of the African player is not up there with his English counterpart.

I cited examples where African born players get fat paychecks, with their values skyrocketing and equally comparable to the average European player. Some could transfer for world record fees.
Wilfred Zaha was quoted for how much by crystal Palace again?

Bottom line is that Eze is not waiting for any fat paycheck. If he plays for Nigeria today, he will still get transferred from QPR for £20-30M. Adidas and Nike will still sign endorsements with him just like they did with Aubameyang and Zaha.

You are educated, conversant and informed.

Why then can you not make a simple demarcation between player valuation transfer fee and personal terms as against player branding and commercial marketing endorsements. They are two distinct but complementary components.

My comments relate to the latter, as well educated as you claim to be the substance of the discourse seems to have left you lost.

Below two screen shots of two young players in the EPL. That highlight just one commercial endorsement not the entirety of thier endorsements. These endorsements can exceed players terms.

Oga, just hear yourself. You're claiming Eze is holding out to play for Nigeria because of the endorsements he could get from commercial sponsorship. That's a very childish way to analyze the situation, to be honest.
Do you know Aubemeyang is top 25 most marketable ATHLETE with a good cross over appeal ratings. Incase you don't know, this guy plays for Gabon. Can you locate Gabon on the atlas if I challenged you?
Mohammed Salah's endorsement with Pepsi, Vodafone and the likes runs into $70 annually.
Wilfred Zaha is doing well with his many fashion endsorments.
Your inclination about Eze's international future is rank amateur. You're better off not saying anything than coming up with waffle like this, as if you're preaching to primary school pupils.

What Komekn is saying is Eze as at this moment is more likely to earn more as a English youth player/prospective whatever than as a Nigerian NT player which is partly true.
The English premium thing doesn't only apply to transfer fees but contracts and sponsorship deals.
The names you're mentioning like Salah, Auba, etc were mostly not top earners in their age group when they were Eze's age.

So, now it's about money, not career growth anymore? Is it not komekn that preaches about career growth being more important than monetary gains? Or does that apply only to the homegrown lads?

You people must be confusing Eze with Eden Hazard, because I don't see how he will start making all this money simply for agreeing to play for an overbloated English team. He would be a compound fool to join Abraham and Tomori on England's bench, because that is where he will end up. Even more, Maddison is playing the position he wishes to occupy, some people would call such a choice international career suicide.

The only thing komekn knows how to do is crucify homegrown kids for making certain decisions, while excusing his innit boys when they do the same thing.

Now, Eze is making this decision for his career, the same BS he sold us with Abraham. So, we should be chasing players that could switch upon us the moment England whistles at them? We are not doing that poorly in football, to start chasing after every other English player that's down on his luck. These excuses are useless.

Manu boys were lucky to win yesterday cuz i observed tactical lapses in the positioning of the boys whenever they are building from the back, i noticed how easily they run into one another even though the boys have individual skills but lack cohesion as a unit.
The introduction of Amoo brought a little purpose into the midfield cuz the guy has a good feet and can dribble with good pass sprays.
Manu seem to lack left full back cuz the guy Etim was a basket.
Hungary was shocked to have scored so easy so early and were further shocked when the led again. This must have played on their psyche as they knew 9ja to be a force in U17.
I wish the boys (very young boys) the best in Brazil
