I wanted to get the RN7 6gb ram version but the gurus in the house advised me to wait for the RN8.. With this information now, I'm so confused

If you are talking of system updates and system app updates please do them.

But for your regular apps do the updates at your discretion.

I'm seriously considering the RN8 but with comparisons to RN7, I think the latter is "slightly" faster than the former. SD665 is just more power efficient and nothing more. I don't think one can play PUBG in higher settings with RN8 which is something one can do on RN7. If you already own a RN7, RN8 won't be an upgrade except you like the additional dual cameras. The price will make me know which to pitch my tent with. Hopefully we get friendly prices tomorrow.

I wish it was even the Cameras, I just wanted a higher ram and that dedicated sim slot..

Please look at what you posted.. Snapdragon 660 (RN7) GPU Score is 30902, Snapdragon 665 (MiA3, RN8) GPU Score is 31798

Modified: After researching on your hypothesis the reason it can't play on HD + High currently according to most users is that the Processor is yet to be optimised for PUBG.

I was actually looking at camera and build quality. But even the difference in 665 & 675 aint much. Their gpu power is Adreno 610 & 612 respectfully. Dont let the incremental figures fool (not being insultive abeg) you. Its just marketing, most of these socs are thesame, just clocked differently (with root you can overclock a little). SD 675 hast faster cores but still thesame architecture with 665. I had the chance of holding both before making a choice, no difference in app speed to me, they launched with equal speed and played thesame games. But Mi A3 had better battery backup at the end, which was my winning choice.

If the difference was so much, note 8 would be using sd675 and not sd 665. But why pay more for a little more power. Notwithstanding, note 7pro is a very good phone.

Also when it comes for gaming, the note 7 can play PUBG in HD while the note 8 plays in High graphics.
It also depends if ur a gamer shall
Am also considering getting the note 8 but after the price I consider if i get the 7 or 8
I play a lot of PUBG so if s price no much difference i will have to settle for the note 7
