If the one player who opts to represent another country turns out to be better than the 23 players we took to the tournament that means there is a problem with the selection process

We should demand for better selection processes not turn into beggars
Messi is better than any player Argentina can ever get, imagine he ended up playing for Spain do you think they won't be regretting it. Sometimes let's try to think deep and wide since we've been developing players why haven't we gotten someone like Okocha? Or keeper better than Enyeama

There is a Japanese U17 boy, he's name is Joel Chima Fujita.

I think he's of Nigerian descent, you guys should look it up.

They trashed Netherlands youngys 3 - 0 earlier this morning.

That one is near impossible because at age 21 they can't have more than one passport. Either they pick Japan or their other countries. Would he be willing to give up his Japanese citizenship just to play for Nigeria?

Reaching out to this kids is not begging. They re approached and left to make the decion on their own accord which is normal.

Do u know how hard Spain tried to get Messi to their youth teams? Do u know how hard England pressed to hv anichebe in their u21 team? Or u won't tag that begging?

What about Holland that stooped low to invite danjuma who was playing in the lowly rated Belgian top flight just to tie him down inorder to wade off our interest in him? Isn't that desperation?

Do you know how hard the same Dutch team fought to stop ziyech from turning out for morroco?

Do you know then England coach hogson tried to convince Iwobi not to change allegiance to us at heatrow airport on his way to team of with the u23? Isn't that begging as well?

How many players have we gotten through begging, Eze? Tomori? Abraham? Billing? Dele Alli?

Commonsense should tell you that you can't attract any players if your procedures is not attractive

it's approach and when they turn us down we move, currently USA and Holland dey drag one Ajax player every country do it, it's normal if you see a player who can add quality to your team approach if he turn you down you move on there's no shame in that

i disagree! these players have added distinct value to our team and made us better. how many local based players have broken into the super eagles all these years and made a long lasting impact? mikel basically had no competition throughout his stay in the national team but iwobi, aribo and potentially ebere's addition has our midfield now looking half decent.

like tbaba rightly said if countries that have better structures and talents are not shy to go for foreign born players that will add value to their team why should we feel ashamed to approach nigerian born players?

Italy in 2006 used camonaresi an argentine when they won the world cup. spain used senna a brazilian when they won euro 2008.

hell even cameroon used equitorial guinean lauren when they won their afcon titles in 2000 and 2002

Eartquake1:
Hope you know that our begging process has resulted to 0 result, 0!

Iwobi, Aina had no choice and the host of Ekong, Balogun and Ajayi had no chance with England and Germany

If we could have gotten those players without begging then why are we?

Messi didn't play for the Spanish underaged teams, if he did Spain had a legitimate right to claim him

I don't see the issue of being excited about kids of dual nationality WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO PLAY FOR OTHER COUNTRIES when we have our home grown kids

We may as well dump the underage teams and go into full time begging

As in , it is very irritating to say the least.

We have bunch of talented 21 players in the tourney that we can be excited about, yet na some abroad boys that might not even know the capital of Nigeria, they are pushing to our face. Inferiority complex at its best

Since we are on the talk of dual nationalities...

The American-Dutch Ajax RB, Sergino Dest just committed his international future to the USMNT for good.

Amazing how he chose the US over a top playing nation like Netherlands while holding down a RB slot in Netherlands' top clubside, Ajax.

this mentality of yours is the main reason Nigeria is divided due to tribalism and personal interest. you were born and groomed in nigeria doesnt make you more nigerian than some of this kids. our interest is how to come together to make every sector in this country to work but such will be difficult to achieve if half of our population share the same mentality as you.

do you think these european nations that go all out to infuse the kids of immigrant to their various teams really love them more than we do? these happens because their aim is to fortify their teams inorder to compete with the very best in the world.

For instance dele alli for sometime have been excluded from the 3 lion squad just because of the emergence of maddison and mount. have you asked yourself why england took an 18yr old rookie michael owen to 1998 world at the expense of more established strikers like ex man utd and arsenal strikers andy cole and Ian wright? why did the english FA appoint john terry captain of the 3 lions at the expense of ferdinard and sol campbell who were in the team before the chelsea legend?

what about the conspiracy by the french fa championed by ex man utd defender blanc to face out players of african parentage in their team just to create more room for players of their race but were disappointed when it was obvious that the best talents in various french academies are sons and daughters of immigrants?

if these racist europeans nations can swallow their pride and hide their hate just to accommodate this kids i see no reason we should castigate them but tap into the practice to get as much as we can

Lol...many of this Nigerians don't know that if this country is to make progress and develop further and even better...
we will surely need the input of Nigerians in diaspora...either born or raised there....

we need folks who are exposed and well groomed in cultured settings and as well maximize it with the local product or should I use content or rather home groomed manpower resources.....

only a man with limited thinking will dish one for the other...a wise man will rather maximize both for growth...

so what's wrong in doing same when it comes to football ?

i am really surprised at you for saying this. so the nff and rohr reaches out to a player and the player and his representatives asked for more time for them to come up with a decision which will be best for the kids international career literally means the door to the national team should be shut on that particular player?

so if the likes of torunarigha, uduokhai, akpoguma, eze, lookman, ejaria, billing or even tomori rescind their decision to player for their country of birth and place a call to pinnick or rohr tomorrow announcing their readiness to change allegiance to us so they should be ignored just because they didnt decide on time?
