Actually some may miss the hidden message in my post. The USA-Holland scenario can be likened along prestige lines to Nigeria-England scenario.

Holland is a bigger team in football than USA. Fact.
Dutch players command great value in the market today. Fact.
Dutch NT players are very marketable too. Another fact.

USA obviously has value especially with interest and support from their American companies but is not a bigger or better football nation than Holland. Not even close.

Plus Dest could easily be starting for Holland over Dumfries. Or at the very worst be in with a shout of some game time while he battles Dumfries for the right to be #1 RB for the Oranje.

Yet inspite of all these... Dest chose USA. The nation of his Dad who is Surinamese-American.

#Selah

In the end... It is all a choice. In Dest's case, he went for the less fanciful option in USA and he feels good about it and a starting place is an absolute guarantee for him.

I await Ebere Eze's final decision. Go for England, obviously the more attractive option and battle it out with Maddison, Mount, Barkley, Alli and Grealish. Or pick Nigeria, a less attractive option but with guarantee of playing time as only Iwobi is your real natural competition.

In the end... It is all a choice but like Dest, let their choices be genuine and not guided by where they are at the moment in their club careers.
Let them not use the mentality of picking us when they are at Wycombe and picking England when at Chelsea. Irrespective of what their club statuses are, let their choices be their real choices.

Dest is an Ajax starter and that is a ticket to NT football for Holland but the lad was not swayed. He wanted USA all along especially as he grew more fond of his American roots. This is a lesson.

God bless you richly for this.
End of Discussion

imagine a powerful nation as the US still go out to lure players just for the purpose to have a strong national team while some folks here wey no get anything but only pride and ego are against rohr and pinnick approaching european born kids to tun out for us lolz.

TheSuperNerd:
Since we are on the talk of dual nationalities...

The American-Dutch Ajax RB, Sergino Dest just committed his international future to the USMNT for good.

Amazing how he chose the US over a top playing nation like Netherlands while holding down a RB slot in Netherlands' top clubside, Ajax.

US is in no way a powerful nation when it comes to football

But they have a working process that why they were ATTRACTIVE to Serginho Dest

What does the bolded got to do with football? (The US passport is one of the best in the world)

Because the USA passport is one of the best in the world , does that making their national team one of the best in the world?

The guy father is american so he is also american, but i can bet that he cant make the dutch team at the moment thats why he decided to play for the US
I saw him vs chelsea, he held his own. He has what it takes to bench that dumfries

rolling out carpets and sending delegates? so if you were to be one of this kids and you are contacted by the nff or rohr to turn out for us u will jump to the offer because of mere phone conversation? it's only a worthless professional will accept such. travelling all the way to europe to have a one on one discussion with this lads is to show them that he football house means business in having them in our ranks.

if i were to be a footballer and have to choose between italy and nigeria today and the nff wants me i won't just jump to the offer to play for nigeria just because i was called by one of the top brass in the nff. one can easily be convinced by one on one discussion than mere phone calls.

You think doing all those things you mentioned would convince any player who has decided to represent another country to play for us?

Like I pointed out here previously, we will never have them all likewise thier country of birth. Also I am against bringing in every dick n Harry born abroad to the national teams except those who re good enough for us.

I read somewhere online few months ago that the English FA will be sending out scouts to monitor lookman's progression in Germany when he joined Leipzig and the major reason he has not been penciled down for a possible call up by southgate is his lack of playing time in the Bundesliga so far.

They know they stand the risk of losing him and were the first to break the news of his discussion with top officials of the nff on switching to play for us

These Europeans re not sleeping and re all out to get this kids to their teams while u and ur likes re here forming pride wey we no get lolz.

Leicester City thrashed Southampton 9-0 at the Saint Mary's Stadium Friday evening which has helped the Foxes move to third in the Premier League table with 20 points and the impact of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in that annihilation has been highlighted by former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock on Monday.

Leicester's massive win has the become the highest away win in the English Premier League.

Warnock was speaking on Sky Sports News as he reviewed the matches played over the weekend alongside former England's women international Sue Smith.

"The whole (Leicester) team played well. The defence, the midfield. Ndidi was so clever in the middle of the park.

"He (Ndidi) plays just like Fabinho at Liverpool. And when you have a player like that, it just frees other players to play their games," Warnock said of the Nigerian.

Ndidi was in action throughout the duration of the match. He has played nine league games so far this season and scored twice with one appearance in the Carabao Cup.

Fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to play in the Premier League this season and has been restricted to just one appearance in the Carabao Cup against Luton Town back in September in which he scored a goal in a 4-0 win.

Tosin Aiyegun scored again for FC Zurich and also provided an Assist as he inspired them to a 3-2 home win against Swiss Giants, FC Basel.

That was his second goal for the Swiss side from his midfield role.

Lad was playing Latvian league football over a year ago at Ventspils alongside Adeleke Akinyemi (the free scoring striker who left for Norway's IK Start and has not exactly done much there since his move). Tosin is on the rise.

just because they werent good enough for the english youth teams. even the likes of iwobi, moses, ameobi, aluko, aina, ebuehi at first approach turned us down. only a few like anichebe, george abbey, ekong and balogun jumped to the offer at the first contact with the nff.

this decisions are not easy to make because majority of these kids have never visited nigeria and the only nation they know is their country of birth, from a young age harbor the ambition and desire to achieve greatness with these european countries. the unfortunate ones rescind their decisions on time when it became obvious to them that breaking into the snr team of this countries will be difficult while the more talented and fortunate ones fight on to actualize thier dreams with their country of birth.

the likes of lookman, uduokhai, ejaria, ojo, ehizibue and akpoguma fall into the category of those who have woken up from their slumber to accept reality while the likes of tammy, tomori, torunarigha, billing and danjuma are the fortunate ones who are still fighting to actualize their dreams.

Correction l don't ever recall Alex Iwobi rejectinga call to play for Nigeria.

He actually played for Nigeria even before he had played any first team game for Arsenal. It was after his Nigerian call up that he started to play for Arsenal.

You can make multiple speculative deduction about that.

He wasn't even an established England youth international.
