Didn't Iwobi play for England at youth level?

It never occurred to you that the English FA swooped in to give him a call up to their u21 side when he was at the verge of been capped by oliseh then in the friendly get together at Belgium?

If England never wanted him why did hogson made an attempt to stop him at Heathrow Airport?
komekn:

The term verge is ambiguous and pregnant with meaning.

First of all Iwobi was nearly released by Arsenal at 14 and 16. He was not considered a big prospect or potential England international. England did not rate him to be plain speaking.

Amaju had little if any input, however, JJay his uncle had the over riding influence within the NFF and over him. He even lived in Turkey as a toddler with his Uncle JJay. That in itself gives you an insight into his closeness to his Uncle.

You use the term break out season again not sure what you mean exactly. Iwobi played 13 games that season 2015/16. That's not particularly outstanding but very promising for a young player trying to find his way in big club like Arsenal.

Nonetheless, everything started to happen for Iwobi almost immediately, once he played for Nigeria. That's a fact.

Football is always unpredictable and there are many boys who played for England over and above Iwobi. Those boys have literally disappeared into obscurity.

they tried to get Zaha, but Palace wouldn't allow it. Some Arsenal fans are still bitter about the Zaha move that tanked, Pepe was the alternative

How can you say they tried? Somebody asked for £80m and u present them 40, how is that considered trying

I agree. But he is still a beautiful talent. Defensively, he will definitely be a liability until he steps up his defensive game.

Ejaria seem more complete and ready for men's football. We can still hv him in the current super eagles set up but he is not better than Iwobi.

He really need to work on his work rate to mk it in the epl if he makes the leap soon

Foden is on an upward trajectory he is 19 and he is playing in the first team. He is almost the darling Of English youth football.

KC is now 23 he is not a youth player anymore, he has been diminishing consistent and continously for the past three seasons.

He is not even getting on the bench, what on earth is he learning.

There gets a point when you have to face reality and the reality is KC is not in the plans of the Manager.

You are off point just to paint a false picture.

The Foden you said that is on an upward trajectory, has been on bench for ages. So if bench makes a player rot, how come you can claim a benching player is on an upward trajectory?

The reason is simple, he is training in a highly efficient system, under brilliant managers and learning from top quality players. Foden has shown a player can still develop immensely without playing time which totally blows away your claim that sitting on the bench can only yield negatives.

Nacho under an offensive system is yet to post a poor record. He only lacks playing time because Vardy is getting one hundred percent of the playing time upfront.

That is all. When Nacho gets his run of games in an offensive system, you can judge him if he is good or not.

The guy is strongly built oooo....like a high budget Moses Simon...HE PLAYS AS AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER...What we have been looking for......

I know this was just highlights, but I am impressed with his agility and skill.

If he continues like this, I see him displacing Iwobi and putting undecided Ebere Eze to shame. This guy would not need "red carpet"or "begging" to play for us.

See ehn, I want the Super Eagles to succeed just as much as anybody here does. However, I feel Iwobi is becoming too complacent in the team and anybody who shows consistency and can play same position should be given a chance

Based on what?

There is a good chance we will get Eze to push Iwobi but Iwobi is a very good player for Nigeria.

Complacent because he underperformed against Brazil? Give the kid a break. Players do hv on n off days on the pitch.

Na so una go call for Aribo head any day wey em no play up to the standard he has been known of since his debut.

Na for this same thread I hear say ekong no be good defender while ndidi no Sabi pass ball.

He underperformed in the last 4 matches for us. Even in his club, when last has he scored a goal or given as assist. I am being objective here please.

To think he is the only AM we are relying on now is a damn shame

And at the bolded, I will continue to say my mind and give my opinion irrespective of whether anyone is rude to me or not. It's my own opinion and I am entitled to it whether it pains certain people or not

Yes. The lad does remind me of Okocha. No hypes at all.

Now with respect our fast paced style of play and quick transitions... I will go with Iwobi over Eze. Eze loves to showboat much more than Iwobi and that can kill an attacking flow/move.

That said, I believe Eze is still needed and that flaw of his can be worked on. Also his workrate needs work.

The kid is talented but need to work on his work rate. He is not a team player at all and few coaches in the epl will tolerate that. I still prefer Iwobi hhoooha!

This is objectively false. You do not even have to go far. Iwobi was the best player on the pitch against Ukraine

Not so fast. Dest will only have Dumfries to compete with had he chosen Holland and several reports out of holland affirm he is a much better RB than Dumfries. Inspite of this... Dest chose the lesser option in USA. His fatherland.

In all, it is a choice. Not everyone will choose like Dest.

but from the interview he said the Dutch NT didn't approach him maybe if they did he would have chosen them

Which last 4 matches re u talking about? Iwobi was one of our best players at the last afcon, against Ukraine he was immense.

He has been among the few shining lights in Everton this season n had a good game against westham. I doubt if u watch Everton games at all.

How many goals hv eriksen scored for spurs this season? Does that mk him a bad player?

All of us here know Iwobi not to be prolific in front of goal but he has qualities that made everton spend 30m on him. His link up play, vision and work rate is top notch.

Iwobi was among players in the epl last term that created more chances and the stats re there for u check.
