Oh there is a very clear relationship sir.

Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your car today
You: But that's why you're a mechanic

Me: I'm sorry I can't fix your leaking pipe today
You: But that's why you're a plumber

I can go on and on, but I don't see the insult in that statement. And then calling her a prostitute makes the matter worse.

But then..... What do I know

Wait... Are we.. Are we seeing things similarly...

Nobody is blaming the driver for rejecting her trip.... That's not the issue

The issue was how she called him a TAXI DRIVER and he responded by calling her a PROSTITUTE

No Izzou you're changing the narratives. The rejecting of the ride even with a genuine explanation warranted the smeering SMS and hence his response.

Now.. A MECHANIC has rejected my car because of his reason, and I sent an SMS dats y you're a MECHANIC! Now you can only reason it because you were not the one outside at 12am being dragged because you couldn't render a service you signed for.

What rubbish is this one talking about. Living up to your username or what?

Did I at any point say a driver shouldn't choose destination?

What is my business if you people choose destinations? It is your right. If there is anything I have ever said as regards drivers and riders altercations- it is, be civil and professional about it.

Enough of this you people have never owned a car. I drive a 2015 SUV, been driving it since 2017. I know what it takes to fix a car!

So, you all should please learn to keep your emotions in check. The world isn't out to get you drivers okay?
Not only 2015 SUV, u also drive 2025 SUV? undecided
Nonsense!
Have u ever wondered why we are so different from white people??
Only in Nigeria u see poor people look down on profession and people richer than them.
Many uber drivers are the owners of the car they use, but these so called ill mannered girls have only one phone they use for their ashewo business.

Of course u will always find another perspective because the rider is a woman?
@bold because someone is an engineer, he has no right to choose location for construction, even if it is sambisa forest?
To many of u a taxi driver is a slave and must accept every nonsense thrown at him?
Because someone is an uber driver doesn't mean he has lost the right to decline unfavourable and threatening trips. If his vehicle get damaged in the process of trying to be a yes man, will the rider or uber fix the car for him?
When some people talk i just know they haven't own a tyre in their entire life, because if u have used a car and know how frustrating it is to keep repairing samething in a vehicle, u won't invite uber driver to certain location as a rider.

You seem to really hate the people you interact with in your job and the job itself. Maybe find a new profession?

No sir, I'm not changing the narratives

The reason I jumped into this discussion is because of the insults thrown....not because of him declining

And rejecting a trip isn't wrong. Uber put the option there for a reason.

I just wished he didn't use the word PROSTITUTE.
That's my point. But then, the driver has already explained to me better

Gazzuz and Rd autoworks own their platforms.

If I am self employed, I can choose to reject jobs. However as an employee/partner I may not have that leverage, depending on the terms of my employment/ agreement.

No bro, the driver owns his car and his agreement with uber is.... Cancel any ride that threatens your life which did. So why the fuss?

I'm a very reasonable individual, I was online past 12am to work. This is business to me, so profitability is prioritized. The moment her request came in, I called and used ma all through my conversation even till the point I discovered the trip isn't gonna be profitable to me. I noticed the rudeness in conversation but decided to suck it up, Las Las na my money I go collect. The moment I told her the reason why I couldn't make the trip, She got even more aggravated and ended the call with a hiss. So, if I reply in same manner she did, I perfectly understand the context of her words.

EOD.... That's it. The young man explained to the rider and even asked her to cancel giving reasons.

On Saturday at lekki phase 1(1:59am). I picked a female rider, we got talking she told me the ride she earlier booked, the driver didn't cancel and promised her he'd come but she waited 20mins no show and she doesn't know how to cancel, she even restarted her phone the thing was still there, called the driver, he didn't pick, called and called no show.
I just told her maybe the guy got car problems.

So stuff like this... Sometimes some riders and some drivers no get truth. Na survival of who frustrate pass angry grin

I then made a comment like "That road is bad oh". Opari grin

She started talking and talking how drivers are proud and all rubbish.... That if I don't want to drive, I should go home and sleep

YOU ARE VERY WISE!

I wonder why rubbish is seeing gender or victimization of driver. No one has a problem with him rejecting the ride! No one has a problem with him replying sef!

But why call her a prostitute? It is confirmed he is a taxi driver. What we are not sure is her occupation. grin

Bros... Like we all admit, we see things differently and handle situations according to state of mind. Because he replied her calling her a Pro shouldn't land him in hellfire.

It was her word against his.

Do you know one day at Iyana Ipaja I was almost mobbed? Why? Because I slowed down to ask a direction to a pick up. The next thing the woman shouted!

Don't answer him, they're 419ners. They are thieves, Ole. Omo, I just weak, I had to come down to explain to people who I am with my ID card. Whereas my car was almost at the point of vandalism. And only two learnered persons there saved the day for me when I showed them the App.

So bro, if na you, you for keep quiet and zoom off right? And they chase you and burn you inside the car? Na inside life be this, we handle situations according to state of mind.

This is not true Sir. There is right and wrong- they were both wrong. I saw you say you worked in a bank. I am sure while you were there, you would never have replied an irate customer with such response and we all know the reason...

There is right and there will always be wrong.

Most likely the latter, Sir. smiley

The world will be doomed if everyone operates on that model. That is why God gave us the grace to discern and differentiate the good from bad. So...there'll always be right & wrong.

And the latter might be translated to the former if the customer wants to show "Customers are always right" attitude.

See Ma'am, most staff in a cooperate firm talk the middle finger not because of professionalism (Or who they truly are). But because eye service is the god of every staff in a company. But to an Uber driver, reverse is the case, especially with the competition and assurance of the market. Highest.... The person go join Oride or Maxkada. wink

Poco the Poco grin grin grin

Prostitute is the word Men used on the street of Lagos when they don't agree with you, & it doesn't matter the scenario, it can be on anything.

A basic conversation would go like this:

Female Buyer: hello, please how much is this bag?
Male seller: 20k madame, original leather.

Female Buyer: Habba, can you take 5k?
Male seller: Mtchew abeg comot, Ashawo!

grin
