I went to the bank and asked. I was told that I can still buy tbills from primary market and next auction is on 13th . The CBn just restrict individual on OMO and the secondary market operation
RealityShot:
no...

for now we shall wait n see what banks settle at.

soon stock mkt will take off and cbn will beg us to buy tbills again.

for now, open a money market fund with stanbic, fbnquest etc...

no upfront interest on those, but your funds will be secured untill the dust settles on tbills

Okay, maybe a 10M TB for 8M loan may suffice. The whole idea for me is to enforce a savings culture that probably resulted in the 10M anyway.

please,
which bank gives higher rate of interest in treasury bill?

Min 5k
Yes, that's savings bond.

Can we get Federal Government bond for less than 50M?

futher more people that are sure they don't need their main capital for the next five years so invest in bond and use the bi annually payment for t.b ....example if I have 10m ,will invest in bond and earn 1.1m per year for 5 years ....payment is 550 k ever six moths then use the 550k to buy tb ...it give more stability ...

But most investment houses will not accept 10M for bond and the primary auction is min of 50M except the savings bond that pays coupons 4 times a year with very low interest.

Which discount house can one buy Bond in the secondary market with less than 10M?

I lost five business deals since when this nonsense started Sir. I mentioned legal they kept quiet.

Don't they know company profile is linked with house address, business address, Biometrics. And more. I'm at my house address on my profile. I want them to ask their lawyers to do a check and come serve me a petition and let's see how this fight will escalate into a legal battle they would drop to their knees to beg me. If I don't reduce their 5-10million on legal battles, may I be miserable.

You can resell, this is determined by demand and supply. Could be sold at loss or at a profit. The person who bought the bond cheaper from you will get a higher coupon from the investment.

We have a thread for bond Investment.

The price you pay for Bond in the secondary market is kind of trickery. There is what is called CLEAN PRICE and a DIRTY PRICE.

For example if you want to buy a bond worth 10M; if a coupon for the bond is going for 16.5% and the price is quoted at 13%, you will definitely pay well over 10M to secure that bond. Since i dont want to do any calculation now, lets assume you pay 12M for that bond, your coupons will be based on the 10M and not the 12M. The price you pay has other factors that determines it like the number of coupons remaining which gives you the yield to maturity. If you dont want to mess with your head, its not a territory to do your calculations in.

The simple rule you cam apply to the example above is to see the 13% as your interest. If you want to put the bi-annual 16.5% in your mind as the interest you are getting, no problems, but also have it in mind that you paid extra 2M on top of that principal whose coupons u are getting. By the time you net off the extra amount you paid from the total coupons, you arrive at the 13%.

the lower the quoted interest, the more money you pay and vise versa. if the quoted price was 17.5%, you would pay below 10M to secure the bond. Still, the coupon will be on the 10M.

Only at the primary market you can buy at par.

Waoooooo

2 days absent and I read almost 7 pages

My observations
1. Mr Healthserve is a scammer. ....NTB members avoid him

2. Oga Ahinbingas ......is very innocent. ...not knowing Healthserve is a scammer

3. Oga Emmanuelwumi. .....still remains an elder in this forum by identifying the scammer

4. All genuine NTB members should be patience for this current NTB issue to be settled. ...otherwise ask your bank for long dated FGN Bonds with good interest rate and log in and seeing your 6 monthly coupon payments

5. Slow and steady investments will always win the race.

As for those scammers typing and responding with speed of light. .....i will not respond to you so don't waste your scamming energy quouting me.

May God save us all from numerous scammers in this forum. Amen.

In what capacity did you label Healthserve a scammer?

Or is it because this is a faceless forum?

Can you substantiate or defend such defamation or disparaging epithet?

Do you know you could be damned under the Cybercrime Act?

For a similar reason Kemi Olunloyo went to prison.

He has made some contributions, albeit controversial. But that does not warrant calling him a scammer when you have done no business with him.
Neither has he asked you for money.

He sounds intelligent too, and writes flawlessly. I must commend him on that!

Your own write up is abysmally frustrating, fraught with grammatical clangers and bo.obs. The worst I have read here in recent times.

Fellow investors, FG savings bond is on from today till 8th of Nov, rate for 3yrs tenor is 11.29%. Is better to secure ur hard earned money than venturing into one get rich quick scheme that will eventually drain ur capital and bring u back to square zero. Do not be discouraged, do not waste ur money before NTB will normalize.

My two cent though.
Where do you subscribe.

Not really supporting any one calling him a scammer but the guy too should get busy not all the post he must respond to. If any one calls me a scammer now where as I have not asked for money or done business with any one and no evidence of such then why should I bother brain answering every post about me? When I have a lot to think about! Was with my mentor on Saturday and the challenge alone he put in my brain has kept me thinking since then so where is the time for side talk?

You are treating a matter of great gravitas with levity.
Just like telling a rape victim to just move on.

Defamation is taken seriously all over the world. That's why it's a crime and also a civil wrong. The effect is that the offender is being prosecuted for the crime, he could as well be sued so as to recover damages for defamation.

The Bible condemns it too.
The Catholic church considers it a mortal sin-- one can condemn a soul to hell.

Till we start getting responsible for our actions in this country we won't move forward.

Recently a student was expelled for writing an open letter to the VC. He made several statements and allegations which he couldn't defend at the panel.

I read the open letter and read his expulsion letter and immediately knew that he had no case even in court. See the case of Garba v Unimaid.

Again, Mcdonald chief was sacked for having an affair with an employee. In Nigeria, it's normal.

That's why we engage in piracy, plagiarism etc, destroying intellectual properties.

Everything is normal, if you talk, they start begging.

I did mine with stanbic today...coupon payments will be every April and October till 2037...

Ask your bank for advice on most FGN BONDS....

I can't do this cos a juicy capital investment can come up at any time....

After all FG securities are a means to an end, not the end in itself.
