Queens Park Rangers Star Eze Tells NFF Boss : I Want To Be The Captain Of Nigeria Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has assured Super Eagles fans that he's doing everything possible to make Queens Park Rangers young sensation Eberechi Eze commit his international future to Nigeria. Eze trained with the Super Eagles before a cancelled friendly against Burkina Faso in March 2017 but since then his status has changed, having played seven friendly matches for England U20s. And things will become more difficult for the Nigeria Football Federation in their attempt to lure the attacking midfielder if he goes ahead to make his competitive debut for the England U21 team this month as he has been handed a call-up for the Euro qualifier against Albania. Pinnick is expected to travel to London in the coming weeks for talks with Eze and his camp and it is claimed that the player has informed the NFF boss he wants to captain the Super Eagles in future. In an interview with Channels Television monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com on Monday morning, Pinnick provided an update on Eze, saying : ''I have been taking to him (Eze), I speak to him everyday, I speak to his father, I speak to everybody. He's an excellent player, he loves this country that I can tell you. ''He is a young player, he wants to be given a bit of time but I talk to his dad, I talk to him, I'll meet them soon in London, we cannot allow such a talent to go. ''And he even told me jokingly, 'President I want to be the captain of Nigeria some day', I was so excited about that and said, 'Why not, you play like Jay-Jay, Jay-Jay was captain so you can be another captain'. ''He loves this country, I don't think we want to allow that talent to go''. In 16 outings for Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Championship this season, Eze has been involved in 10 goals (6 goals, 4 assists). Source: ANS. 3 Likes 1 Share |

My people, isn't it funny that somebody who constantly criticises Samuel Chukwueze for having a poor end product is now praising a player like Adama Traore? 16 Likes 4 Shares |

TheSuperNerd: I want Icon4 to be among the committee, much more than you think because I know he is more dedicated to it than anyone of us here but since the indirect democratic process was used to elect the committee, the direct democratic process you want to introduce, can nologer be used or introduced at the end of the election. However, since, Liberty and Equality which are the elements of democracy were encouraged/practiced during the direct democratic process as agreed, there should be no room for magomago or sentiment afterwards. Icons4 exercised these same liberty and equality as much as everyone here did and that was why he didn't object when 1,2,3 & 4 electorates nominated him during the election but unfortunately, he lost out and he accepted it in good faith and I hope he respects the decision of the electorates. I really respected him for that because his actions promote true democracy. Unlike the wayo wayo one way you wan bring up. Anyway, this has become a challenge for those who have become trustees (elected representative) to carry-out the idea and interest of the trustors (voters). Icons4 can act as the chief advisor and chief sponsor. As Safari rightly suggested, let us begin by electing the chairman of the committee. Oya, over to you to conduct the election. Let sentiment rest, oh...ha! NB: Liberty connotes the opportunity to choose or participate in choosing while Equality connotes that the choice of a person or his opportunity to choose is as that of any other persons. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick on Monday morning revealed that the NFF will advertise for key coaching and administrative positions that are vacant, allnigeriasoccer.com reports. Pinnick was speaking live on Channels Television's Programme 'Sports This Morning', about a wide range of issues on Nigerian football. Recently head coach of the Nigerian women senior national team, Super Falcons, Thomas Dennerby, quit his job citing interference in the discharge of his duties. "Very soon, we will be advertising some key positions in the NFF. 1. Head Coach for the Super Falcons, 2. Head of Women's Football, 3. Chief Compliance Officer, 4. Head of Commercial services," the NFF boss stated. Speaking on the court victory that absolved the NFF chieftains of any wrongdoing after allegations of financial impropriety, Pinnick graciously said the court victory was not for the much vilified NFF officials. "This is not a personal victory for me and my other board members. It is victory for all of Nigerian football. We have always maintained our innocence at the NFF and laid our books bare for everyone to see. "We have always published our accounts using some of the best auditing firms in the world. I am happy those toxic moments are over and now it is time to pull and work together, not pull apart," Pinnick stressed. On the subject of Nigeria hosting the FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in 2020, Pinnick casts doubt on the readiness of the country to meet up FIFA's demands for a good tournament. "We have some challenges with meeting up with some of FIFA's demands. "They(FIFA) have been magnanimous with us but we need more training sites and realistically it will be very tough for us to meet this." Pinnick who was the first vice president of the Confederation of African Football was asked about the Round of 16 exit of the Golden Eaglets at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil. "I take responsibility for the team's performance in Brazil. However, there are positives for us to build on and areas to correct as well. We have an efficient grassroots programme in place. " The Zenith Bank /Future Eagles project at U13 and U15 levels, which we must continue to improve. Let's not also forget that these competitions are mainly developmental so it's football, we win some and lose some," Pinnick noted. Pinnick then cleared the air on the working relationship between the NFF and the sports ministry. "On the relationship with the Sports Ministry: We have a wonderful relationship with the Ministry. The Sports Minister has been so supportive and he has also consistently kept us on our toes to do the right things at all times. "The Government is a key partner of Nigerian football and our working relationship with them must be very cordial if we want to make progress," Pinnick concluded. |

Abusule007: what a confused lad....he has the opportunity now to make the team at such a tender age and surely rise up the ladder in no distance time as an international for the most populated black nation on earth... but instead he opted for the English under 21....so bad. anyway I must commend Pinnick for this even though I am not so happy with him... |

forgiveness: you're very cunning sha... in a democracy the will of the majority prevails... and also the majority have the right to exercise their rights at will..... but through a lawful means... are there written statutes that voting into the committee and rescinding of decisions on committee members ought to follow in this thread? ?? if none, the majority over 22 nairalanders want icon to be included in the award committee and there is nothing you can do about it..... you didn't read where some of us here cited that, they didn't get to understand the voting process thinking Icon and Andrew already had automatic admission into the committee board.... laws are made by men and same men in overwhelming majority can amend and re-enact same laws.....even a rigid constitution can be amended. 3 Likes |

we have to respect the kids decision for now and give him the time he demanded to make up his mind. it makes no sense jumping into conclusion when you do not have an idea of what is happening behind the scene. the good thing is that he is in contact with rohr and pinnick and have never said he is not interested in playing for Nigeria in the nearest future Humility017: |

Kbs468: Your comment is not exactly relevant. Because the comments were in a general context, not too specific players. There is hardly any club in the EPL, Championship down to league one that does not have a number of Nigerian teenage players or older in England. That's just England if you go to Europe you will find quite a few as well. Clubs will not hold back youth players going yo play for Nigeria particularly those just on the fringe of first team football. 1 Like |

the good thing is that eze is only wanted in the english u21 team for now where he is not even a starter because arsenal's willock is the teams undisputed number 10 and it is also obvious to him that it will be a tough one making a leap to the 3lions judging by the talents they have in his position. the English are stacked in the attacking midfield position with the major focus being maddison and mount who are still very young and have recently pushed dele alli out of reckoning. they also have barkley, chamberlain, uncapped Grealish and lingard. eze will have it easier in the super eagles than the 3 lions and i believe his desire to continue with the english u21s for now is engineered by his clubs management who stands to earn more from his proposed move to the epl as an english u21 player. a lot have to be considered regarding his decision for now and i believe the claim i made above is one of the key factors. Kbs468: This is SHOCKING and we haven't added the teenager at Obafemi who plays for Southampton and is in the first team. There are more Nigerian origin players in that team than there are Nigerian-origin players playing in the U23. Not sure what deduction to make about that. |

Danielnino00: Sometimes l wonder the school that some people have gone too. Consider your diction, do you know what Constantly means. What does the subject of Adama Traore have to do with Chukwueze. There is no relevance or connection. The context is Spanish football and the call up of Adama Traore. |

komekn: I totally disagree with you on this. you are not new to this same controversy in the past over the release of African Players by Foreign club sides for CAF organized National Assignments like Qualifiers if not Organized competition. And that is part of the reason why CAF itself decided to effect changes to the AFCON schedules from Even years to ODD ones as well as moving it now to during Seasonal breaks or what We call pre-season time frame. As well as streamlining some of the Qualifiers to coincide with the international FIFA breaks or windows. I'm very sure you are fully aware of this. So how is my input irrelevant please. |
