No where they mentioned price reduction since they now have the markets to themselves now, we support border closure but make us feel at home by selling below normal prices

Don't you know that by increasing in tax of Nigeria government that made other neighboring country have upper hand in importing goods, because when you import your goods through coutonu you pay less in there port and bribe custom in Nigeria here, and you have enough gain when you sold out your goods, but people are not ready to pay Nigeria government direct so that the reason I can tell you rice and okirika are just small things out of what government really close border for

My opinion is that we just leave Buhari to tackle these smugglers once. We will definitely feel the impact,.but things will get better.

Smugglers are bad. They destroy economy. Also, rate of cancer will reduce because most goods smuggled in are dangerous to the health.

Nigerians are greedy. With the closure of boarders, the farmers will raise price and create artificial scarcity to achieve their selfish aims.

My brother, hype in prices are not caused by farmers, but by middle men who are in control of most markets. They are thugs. You will be shocked the profit of farmers is minimal. These thugs are everywhere, and they are the ones even smuggling in.

Brother, you cannot get optimum production immediately. Look at rice, UNN is encouraged. And many private firms and state governments are joining. But just open the border, and every bit of improvement will be lost. It is going to be more beneficial if Buhari locks the Border for 1 year more. I am telling you the truth.

It takes about 6-8 weeks to raise a broiler chicken to table size, so there is really no fear about running out of stock for the farmers.

You are correct. Nigerians are greedy. We are our problem. I do wonder what is the fate of this county given our selfish nature. An average Nigerian, be it a trader or whoever is as wicked as our politicians. Few minuted to this thread, I called a relative who do buying and selling of poultry. She told me she's been on the way in search of poultry to buy. That it's not getting funny. That the one they sold about N1,500 a month ago now goes for minimum of N2,500 on abeg abeg.

So sorry how this government thinks. That boarder has created jobs for lots of people who work for different west African agencies and firms.

Today, their jobs are on the brink. Some ass worshippers think its only rice and chicken eggs that will create jobs or what?

I would favor border control measures to keep the internal market in competition thereby reducing prices of basic commodities. Not what some idiots who only see PDP and APC as their banner to weep.

We really need to learn to consume what we produce and produce what we consume. That's how we can free of economic slavery.
If we continue to depend on the so called whites for existence then it's safe to say our race and continent is endangered.
