I was ready to give Ghana the benefit of dubt until I saw Kumasi and Accra. Yes on face value - Ghana does look good - progressive middle class country - but why isn't the middle class manifesting itself. If you go to South Africa - you don't need stats - to say - this is a middle class country. If you go to Namibia - you don't need to have been even to school to know they are doing good - same with Botswana.

Nice one? Yeah I also watch it when Nana Addo is telling all the governor in Ghana to avoid budget for 2020 election. Something like that? Can't remember anymore!

Well, that's good project from Ghana?

Dude, stop acting like lying typical Nigeria. We expect so much better from Ghanians. It easy. Find us PWC report. And I didn't need to check PWC - I know even Mombasa alone has more branded hotels than Nigeria...

https://www.pwc.co.za/en/assets/pdf/hotels-outlook-19-2023.pdf

Jump to page 54 - 2018 is 20,100 hotels - the rest are projected based on branded hotels under pipelines or under construction.

Heckling little girl. It was 18K in 2015 - how can current trend be less.
it was never 18K in 2015

the 18K was a projection base on the expectation that it will double.

in 2015, it was almost 7,000

it is expected to reach 10,000 in 2023

1) Okay - I thought Gold minning has pretty much overtaken South Africa - so you mean all that is done by small scale miners. I think if you remove the power consumed by Gold, Bauxite, Aluminum - that will leave a lot less for household consumption. I cannot seem to lay my hands on the data...anyway I think there is distortion from mining industry.

2) Urbanization. For a country with 15M (half) urban population - you don't have consumerate cities and towns. I check Accra has 1.5m,Kumasi 1.7m, etc. but you'll admit there has to be a serious housing deficits...because a city of 1M people is huge. Mombasa for reference is about 1.2M people. Nairobi is now 4.4m. So either you statistic is doggy like Nigeria...I noticed the urbanization rate has been 50% for like forever.

3) Immigration. For a country that is growing - you should not be immigrating for opportunities or for education. That right there is contradictory. Your companies should be one immigrating - spinning multinational conglomerates.

Anyway I hope your statistics is not being cooked like Nigeria - and it well turn out --- that outside minning & natural resources - there is nothing to write home about.

Hmmm. ...dive into the data and let us know the anomalies if any. Sometimes, though ishyt doesn't tally 100% not due to conspiracy but errors in tabulation and/or capture.

Lol if just30 should fall this nonsense then I will know he is gullible...You went to PWC websites right? An you copied and pasted from it. Why didn't you attach the link? But rather You replaced it with an archaic source from your country to back it up (it was even talking about plans)....this was the same thing you did to me and tylann fell for it....
My guess is that you have tampered with those figures that is why you don't want to attach the PWC link which you just visited.

Kenya branded hotels - about twice what you have in Nigeria. I think about half what is in South Africa.

I said development is not what you observed thru screen but on data and information. that is the objective.

for example, Ghana currently enrol 1.2 million of her citizens on free education , free feeding , free boarding on his national pulse. how should I describe that in video or picture?

Ghana currently registered 100 percent of her citizens on free health care delivery. how do I put it in video or pics?

in Ghana over 85 percent of her citizens have access to water and nearly 90 percent of Ghanaian are connected to national grid . how is that explainable thru video or pics ....

1) I guess my point is still valid - that household electricity consumption per capita - is being distorted by minning - just like you find in South Africa - which has one world highest electricity consumption per capita.

2) You're making it worse - because if Accra had 4m population - then clearly something is wrong with either the city or the stats - coz I have checked couple of pics and videos - and Accra doesn't look like a city of 1m people.

3) Adventure thanks to wealthy Ghanians - would reflect in out-bound tourism. This is more economic refugees. It's hardly anything to be proud of.As you plead with slaves that left Ghana 500yrs ago to return - you need to stop current Ghanians from leaving - mostly forever - abroad. You only see such in war torn countries like Syria, Somalia, Ethiopia, etc. This is called brain and resource drain.

This is a joke I guess

Rvp see you can't capture the aieral view of Accra on a single shot. Its hilly. What Accra lacks in skyline it covers for it with beautiful single homes all over.

All that reflect in STANDARD OF LIVING and QUALITY OF LIFE. You don't need my bank account to know I am doing badly or well. Informal sector for example is clearly manifestation of under-development. As people get richer, they drive cars, shop in supermarkets, dine in branded hotels, fly for vacations, send their kids to good schools and buy luxury goods.

Accra is ever-expanding than building high.
No one wants to live in an apartment.
Single owned homes with backyards is an ish here

so you will have farmlands like Ayimensah , Dodowa becoming highly residential areas than apartments in the centre of Accra going up

this kind of development is both good and bad at the same time for the government.

You are right.

In the years to come Accra would have extended into ada.

Cement figures you gave me are not authoritative. They come from similar websites like the one that said cement consumption was 5.2M tonnes.

10M seem highly unlikely. Entire Dangote Cement last year(2018) sold 8.9m in all it's market outside Nigeria- Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania.

Kazikazi:
Always my point is,your real estate sector don't match with your economic growth, or higher per capita income or your GDP in general. A quick look of Kumasi city comparing with mwanza city in Tz,shows mwanza has a better real estate. Again Tz has a very huge informal sector. But Kumasi with higher population, with higher per capita, with higher hdi, looks worse than mwanza.
Somewhere, somewhat, your stats are questionable. Or Tz is underreporting?
and i have given you proof that it outperforms what you have in Tanzania.

I just cant imagine how a country with twice the population of Ghana is outperformed in real estate demands by Ghana.

That small Dar Es Sallam area you keep posting makes you think you are developed.
Ghana has gone far beyond that.

You should doubt.Kumasi and Accra don't look like cities from middle income country.I can't mention Tokoradi or tamale.A country like Zambia, has better cities than what u see in Kumasi.
I think Ghana gov is overrating their economic numbers
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 2:06pm On Nov 12, 2019
Okay I think Dangote has the figure.

From his group 2018 results.
http://www.dangotecement.com/wp-content/uploads/reports/2019/FY2018/DangoteCement_FY2018_ResultsStatement.pdf

Ghana
With per-capita consumption of about 213kg/person and total demand of more than 6Mt in 2018, Ghana
is an attractive market for cement in West Africa. Its economy is strong and this is driving housing and
infrastructure growth across the country.

Actually you are wrong.....

Often “informal” businesses are highly skilled and professional. Go check the trend in China and India. how informal sector is growing. The only differencei from formal sector is that they do their business outside goverment influence which means that they do not comply with regulatory requirements of which tax compliance is the most important one. which also means that they are often more profitable that their more formal counterparts. in Nigeria/ Ghana informal sector buisness owmer are the big boys . that is why you can used our minimum wage to judge our standard of living.

How does hotel in pipeline help your case. Nigeria has had good growth (20% CAR) in branded hotels - while Kenya is doing around 10% CAR - but Nigeria basically is being from a very small base. I think Mombasa alone has more branded hotels than entire Nigeria.

How can installed capacity of 12m produce 15m metric tonnes?. I think you need to find us more credible data than some Dangote cement lobbyist trying to commit Ghana gov to expensive concrete roads like they are doing in Nigeria. Concrete roads are too expensive for Ghana or Nigeria.
Because those are 2018 figures whiles consumption was 8 million metric tonnes

Since then, more cement factories have come online

and after those 2018 figures,

this factory launched and brought onboard 2.6 million metric tonnes

I find that hard to believe. I think as country become rich - it starts looking rich - organized - formal. Officially Ghana gdp per capita is about 3000 - just a few dollars to join middle class nation - and it doesn't look the part.

Opps I think GDP per capita is 2000 or around - well no need to sweat it. That is about right.

I can't accept the lies of a country with huge middle class but there are no real estate owned by same middle class.
I don't know what u have done ahead of Dar. Do u have skyscrapers more than Dar?More residential homes than Dar? Better hospitals than those in Dar?Better hotels? Better marine transportation than Dar? Better golf courses? Better public transport?
