You keep jumping. 10M metric I haven't seen. The website you gave me quote a cement industry lobbyist talking about 8M. It easy - your Ghanian Stat office surely have such data. In the meanitme I am going for Dangote quote figures - 6M metric tonnes with per capita consumption of 230 or about kgs.
Just30:
i gave you a website with Authority

A trusted news website in Ghana and not a blog.

They are talking installed capacity - kenya has 10M or about installed capacity - but we are now selling around 6m. I am talking what was produced and consumed. I think Dangote at minimum understand industry stats. I am going with their figures until I get yours.
and what is consumed is 10 million plus out of 15 million produced per annum
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 4:08pm On Nov 12, 2019
And you do that mostly from oil & minning industry. I don't think you understand Kenya economy. If Nigeria - is sweating - poor Ghana will not even attempt to compete with Kenya.

Projected tax revenues for this year - ordinary taxes will be 16-18B dollars. That is twice what Ghana will collect. And we don't have any oil or gold or alumiminum.Non-ordinary taxes will be 4B dollars!

Our budget is 30B dollars - we spend about 5B dollars in education. Your free school and double track is not even worth half a billion dollar smiley

Kenya is not Ghana mate. You're too small a potato. Nigeria is already down and out.

vaxx2:
i said update yourself. do this by consulting CIA for additional update . there is no way kenya make more tax revenue than Ghana. what do you want to tax? The banking or the hospitality sector ? Ghana in 2018 rakes nothing less than 9 billion dollar above. this from statistical office and the revenue board ...

Now you're totally confused. Installed capacity is just installed capacity. It not produced. I want to give you a simple assignment. Find me Ghana 2018 cement production and consumption.

Tips - these figures Ghana National Stats Body will definitely have.

What make you think a few yahoo boys in Ghana have more money than informal sector say in kenya - a kenya that is corruption & drug haven. Let me tell you a typical traffic police in Kenya - has millions of Kshs - in black economy. My cousin is a cop - his daily target is 200 dollars - he is just a police constable.Kenya black economy is huge but hardly something to be proud about. The average kenyan pays 45 bribes annually - but country remain a thriving swarm of corrupt - so much Ghana vision 2030 is to be like Nairobi in 2010.

You just invent words - financial stability is what? Let try stick to empirical evidence - not make-belief about some high income informal sector big boys living large in slums.

Here is your budget
https://www2.deloitte.com/gh/en/pages/tax/articles/ghana-2019-budget-commentary-tax-highlights.html

Revenues around 57 billion Ghana Cedis which translated 10B dollars. Kenya does about twice that.

You capital expenditure is 11-12%(development budget) - your debt servicing is around 24-25%.

Ghana is doing 20% tax to GDP
which is still an underperformance by our standard
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 4:23pm On Nov 12, 2019
Not true - you're doing 17-18% like Kenya - that is about the average for the level of you underdevelopment. South Africa being a middle class do 25%. Scandinavian countries taxes to their bones - do around 50% - and that the highest.

What is % contribution of extraction sector to that tax revenues.

That will help determine if you're another Nigeria or not that depend 90-95% on Oil.

Every Africa country has huge informal economy. It's hard to measure and therefore we don't have to sweat it. Kenya GDP per capita as of this year will be around 99/47m roughly 2000usd. And Ghana have been aggresively rebasing - every 5yrs - which is strange considering you don't do census or large scale household surveys that often - and so that mean your economic data is pretty-upto-date. Kenya we are on 10yr re-basing cycle - we should be do it soon.
Ghana does not rebase ever 5 years

How can installed capacity of 12m produce 15m metric tonnes?. I think you need to find us more credible data than some Dangote cement lobbyist trying to commit Ghana gov to expensive concrete roads like they are doing in Nigeria. Concrete roads are too expensive for Ghana or Nigeria.
hey poop! That Kenya is too poor to afford it, doesn't mean other Countries that have the money, cannot.

You're too light-weight. The data I quoted are projected 2019 tax figures. Ordinary taxes will be around 45 B Ghana cedis - roughly 8B dollars. I wonder what % of this come from minning and oil industry.
All monies made from oil royalties do not form part of Ghana tax revenues since they are allocated to two different accounts as required by law.
Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 4:30pm On Nov 12, 2019
Population didn't decline. 52M was projected by some folks. Our pop increased from 38M to 47.5m in 10yrs. The annual growth declined from 2.9% to 2.2% because we are aggressively implementing family planning.

You per capita jumped because you recently re-based - growing your per-capita by 25%.

When we re-base too in 2022 - we might get another 25% jump - and surpass Ghana.

Just30,

Ghana aggressively re-based as it was put into IMF 'emergency' room after getting into debt spiral & currency devaluation.

For the second time in less than 10 years Ghana’s GDP has seen a huge increase as a result of a change in the base year used in the calculation.
https://www.ceditalk.com/2018/10/ghanas-rebased-gdp-explained/

In 2010, the base year used for Ghana’s GDP calculation was changed from 1993 to 2006. The country’s GDP jumped by 60% and the services sector was recognized as the largest contributor to GDP, replacing Agriculture. The recent change of the base year from 2006 to 2013 has resulted in a 24.6% jump in GDP to GH¢256 billion.

Employ a Kenyan CEO is different from employing a Kenyan. Kenya attract more Multinationals than any country in SSA outside South Africa. In terms of number of Kenyan in Ivy League - Kenya is competing with Nigeria - Ghanians are nowhere in Harvard or Yale or such schools.

In PISA like test done in Southern & Eastern Africa countries - Kenya kids annually excel - only 2nd to Mauritus - with South Africa distant

Yale Director for Africa “Kenyans continue to hold the largest share of admissions to Yale from Africa, which shows the premium the country puts on quality education.” Data from Yale University provided information on the admission rates of African students with Kenyans taking the biggest slice of the pie with 24 admissions. Nigerian followed closely in admissions with 23 students, Zimbabwe secured the third spot with 18 admissions and South Africa were in last with 16 admissions.

The articule report Kenya are employed for the first time in such multinational company. yes the CEO. that is impossible down west africa not even ivory coast ( a fully foreing oriented country will take it).

When it comes to the matter of education aborad , You are no where to be found bro. I personally had my education in about three different countries.... statistics presently prove Nigerians lead in sub Saharan Africa on student educating abroad( This include but league in Usa and Oxbridge and its first tiers in UK) . follow closely by Ghana..... You just don't have the money to go for such education....

When it comes to international academician, You need to go check statistics. do you have any recognised figure both in education or science sector that is making wave globally? ... there is reason bank of Ghana governor was recently appointed as the chairman of IMF. guy coming to the international scheme of life . kenya is far backward. statistics from America shows Ghana and Nigeria are holding position in formal sector than Any sub Saharan country from africa.

Very slightly - I hope mining and oil is not distorting the wealth - because you know those sectors are not felt by the common Ghanian. Ask Nigerians.
Actually the mining sector may not be felt by the communities that those resources are mined in,
But their contribution helps the national economy which is felt by all Ghanaians.

so i can say that the mining sector is felt by all Ghanaians

I know for a fact Ghana re-based aggressively -esp the 2018 one was just curious - because they had re-based with everyone around 2012/2014 - when Nigerian suddenly became 500B dollar behemoth.

Why would Ghana be in hurry to re-base without any significant data like census or major HH - apart from gov desperation to get out of IMF emergency facility - smiley
