EMMAACHILE: Really impressive.... My birds(Arbor Acre) are 14 days old.... And are within range of 420g - 450g.... Self Formulated feed .... Supported by 7 liquid feeds (KNF) Target is 2kg in 35 Days... Hope I can achieve this ..... |
Re: ... by Nobody: 12:14pm On Nov 10, 2019 |
Willie2015:Self formulation is the way if you know what you are doing and patient with the process. Its much tiring than just buying commercial brands but you know the exact thing to make the birds grow fast. i have learnt how to calculate metabolic energy of the feeds from starter to finisher. Meaning i could formulate anything now with any concentrate with whatever local materials available. |

Saw some signs of CRD yesterday with some snoring but quickly assigned AROMAX in water but so far, things are ok for now. CRD is one very stubborn problem in poultry and i hope not to engage it at all. I had to change their liter this morning. 2 Likes |

KayCee92:It is normal, those are their crops where feed are stored temporary before digestion. |

EMMAACHILE: Want to ask. Why AA+ and not Cobb? I felt you are more of a Cobb lover. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 10:05am On Nov 13, 2019 |
Pistotita:For commercial sale, arbor acre plus was preferred since they can withstand more heat. |

Re: ... by Nobody: 11:44am On Nov 13, 2019 |
EMMAACHILE:Could you refer me to any paper on the subject? You make so much sense, but I want to check it out very well. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 11:52am On Nov 13, 2019 |
Pistotita:This is from experience. I also went with arbor acre plus as I have a direct hatchery contact of farmsupport. Arbor acre plus is mainly used in hot regions like Africa while the Ross 308 is common in North America and the Cobb 500 is more common in Asia. I will post articles if I see the links. The Ross 308 is very good in growth but I am trying to compare with arbor acre plus. At least I have 3 Ross 308 in my batch. I cannot differentiate them now which means the growth of the arbor acre plus is still on par with it at least for now. |
Re: ... by Nobody: 1:13pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
EMMAACHILE: From my investigation Ross 308 has been tested in Afica too. The advantage with the US is that it has tropical cities. Hawaii, a colony is hotter than many parts of SW. It is why I patronise the US more than any advance country. Moreso, that country is super. I'm telling you. Americans are generous with sharing knowledge. If not for the US, I cannot be who I am today. And I feel obliged to even show my gratitude to the country. In fact, Ross308 was tested using our kind of local set up. What baffles me is that 16 -20 kg per sqm stocking density is achievable using Ross308. I have not really checked Abhor Acre. I just moved straight into Ross because I am developing a plan for retail live chicken of 3.2kg - 3.8kg which is achievable within 46 - 49 days. And those retailers like we know like tall breeds. What I know is that Ross, AA+, and Cobb are of the same league. But if you say AA+ performs better in hot region, it is worth looking into. I know there are two kinds of AA+; fast feathering breed and slow. Might be the slow feathering adapts more to heat. I just need to check it out very well. |

Adventurer1:Looks like coccidiosis. Which one have you used before? |
Re: ... by Nobody: 11:38pm On Nov 17, 2019 |
Day 30: Challenges since last week. Had to finally get an antibiotic (Gentyldox) to deal with either pullorum, coryza/crd or combination of both. Aromax was used to boost appetite and clear the nasal passages of the birds. They look ok now but not fully recovered. 2 Likes

nwabuwa:It's not in the league of the amin'totals or miavits. These ones contain all Trace elements required in poultry. 2 Likes |

Re: ... by Nobody: 2:06pm On Nov 20, 2019 |
Machiny:You need to check some things 1. Hope liter is clean 2. Can be an onset of Coryza. Best treatment include Drugs with. Eg doxycycline (Doxyvet 200 wsp), oxytetracycline (Oxy 200 wsp), trimethoprim/sulphonamides (EST mix wsp), Amoxicillin or enrofloxacin (Amoxycillin or Amoxycitin) |
