I have only seen one house with installed Ac , dont know if it works self.... so you be alright.

Houses in UK typically dont have Ac. If you are hot just buy a fan

With this global warming warning, UK would progressively heat up......

Portables are not too expensive....... cheesy

This guy is strong o. At the onset of chilly winter he's here asking about AC when new comrades are sleeping with jacket!!

Average summer temp is about 24°C or lower outside London and deceptively cooler nights

One or two days in a year certainly not enough to worry about AC! A fan is enough- then again it depends on the house itself

I won't worry about central heating because of it gets very 'cold' during harmattan grin

when the weather gets too hot, most people will rent an AC rather than buy one.

The question is; how comfortable would that be? Nobody is going to stop you, but it is not ideal.

Is it a one bedroom flat or one room as in a shared house?

One bedroom flat for a new baby is ok if you both are comfortable then why not.... but if you mean room in a shared house then that tight but still doable . It all depends on the couple

So as the JJC that I am, I just want to be sure of somethings. So pardon my many questions. How much do you think is reasonable to spend monthly on heating a 1 bedroom apartment? It has 3 radiators. The agent in charge of the apartment want me to set up a standing order of £20 a month for heating and hot water. Is this a good deal?
EPC rating is B.
Also what are the red flags to look out for in a tenancy contract. I’ve just finished reading over 20 pages of the contract sad I will read it again before signing just to be sure.

Good evening everyone
How long does it take to get a NI number?
Got my Brp from the post office already but was told by someone that I can't work or open a bank acct without the NI number.

Business owners and contract staff, please I have a Question for you.

Can I create a foundation in Nigeria and pay money to it monthly then claim it as an expense to my LLC in the UK?

I’m looking for ways to increase my business expenses so I can legally pay less tax. At least I will be helping people back home in return.

Just dash me some of the money

Don't forget to register to vote!

As a Nigerian citizen with leave to remain in the UK, you're eligible to vote in next month's general election. Registration closes in two weeks, so remind your friends and relatives. Make your voice heard!

You should get your NI number typically in like 5 weeks from the point of the interview; max 7 weeks.

You do not need a NI number before you can open an account. You can try Monzo - all that Monzo needs is a valid visa that you can live in the UK. NatWest is also another option that doesn't require a NI number.

Why not open a pounds sterling dom account in Nigeria? It'll make things easier for you.
This is what I did and I find it better. I send pounds sterling direct to my gtb dom account (no charges for incoming transfer) and I change to naira as needed via black market.

Nomad26:
Please, can you help me explain how this worked previously for you.

You mean you £ from your UK bank (say Halifax for example) into your GTB £ Domicilliary account domiciled in Nigeria.

Then you change from £ to Naira (as needed) via black market rate in Nigeria?

Are you for real?

But you can’t go to a GTB branch in Nigeria and withdraw ££ from your £-denominated Dom Acct can you?

My previous experience with £-denominated Dom Acct was that:
To fund it, I have had to go to black market l, bought the £ then return to bank and deposit it on the counter.
To withdraw £ from the Dom account, the bank would use their CBN rate to convert and give me Naira equivalent.

Please can you help me explain how it worked for you previously?

I got my BRP two weeks ago and it came with NI number at the back. My wife also got it on hers. I came with a Tier 2 and not too sure if it’s only a Tier 2 thing.

Why is the agent requesting standing order for heating and hot water?

Is property solely occupied? Would bills be in tenants name? Is property dual energy? Is electricity on prepaid meter?

Biko no let me ask other questions, this cold don freeze my brain......... cheesy
