39°C is definitely one or two days in a year here .............. Mid to Late 20s degree ok but 39°C hardly

One bedroom flat for a new baby is ok if you both are comfortable then why not.... but if you mean room in a shared house then that tight but still doable . It all depends on the couple

So as the JJC that I am, I just want to be sure of somethings. So pardon my many questions. How much do you think is reasonable to spend monthly on heating a 1 bedroom apartment? It has 3 radiators. The agent in charge of the apartment want me to set up a standing order of £20 a month for heating and hot water. Is this a good deal?
EPC rating is B.
Also what are the red flags to look out for in a tenancy contract. I’ve just finished reading over 20 pages of the contract I will read it again before signing just to be sure.

You should get your NI number typically in like 5 weeks from the point of the interview; max 7 weeks.

You do not need a NI number before you can open an account. You can try Monzo - all that Monzo needs is a valid visa that you can live in the UK. NatWest is also another option that doesn't require a NI number.

Why not open a pounds sterling dom account in Nigeria? It'll make things easier for you.
This is what I did and I find it better. I send pounds sterling direct to my gtb dom account (no charges for incoming transfer) and I change to naira as needed via black market.

My previous experience with £-denominated Dom Acct was that:
To fund it, I have had to go to black market l, bought the £ then return to bank and deposit it on the counter.
To withdraw £ from the Dom account, the bank would use their CBN rate to convert and give me Naira equivalent.

Please can you help me explain how it worked for you previously?

I got my BRP two weeks ago and it came with NI number at the back. My wife also got it on hers. I came with a Tier 2 and not too sure if it’s only a Tier 2 thing.

Why is the agent requesting standing order for heating and hot water?

Is property solely occupied? Would bills be in tenants name? Is property dual energy? Is electricity on prepaid meter?
