Fight Against Child Trafficking: Anambra Government Inspects Homes, Uncovers Baby Factories.
Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has uncovered two baby factories in Onitsha and Obosi, during an inspection of orphanage homes, in her efforts to stem the scourge of child trafficking in the state.

The inspection which was led by the Honorable Commissioner, in conjunction with the Police, DSS and Civil Defence, including the ministry staff, saw the taskforce visiting community children homes in Ogidi, Nkpor, Obosi and Onitsha, with the aim of inspecting the general environment, water sources, hygiene and operational licence of the facilities.

A grim discovery was however made at Obosi, when the team uncovered a room in an orphanage where two pregnant young girls were locked up and fed in an inhuman manner.

Lady Mezue, immediately rescued the girls, whom one among them was severely malnourished, and subsequently arrested the home manager for further investigation.

The inspection continued to Onitsha where some arrests were made and a baby suspected to be set for trafficking was also rescued by the team.

Nawa o. This baby factory thing seems to be a booming business in the east.

Don't their patrons know they could still adopt kids through legal channels?

With the legal adoption, there is no opportunity for testimonies.
However, buying babies allows the patron to claim miraculous births after 10, 15 years.

What a business strategy, having a baby factory in an orphanage. I wonder why some Nigerians are so gifted negatively?

Kudos to Obiano for this move. Before Anambra becomes stereotyped as a child-trafficking den.

It already is.

Anambra is the headquarters of child kidnappers and traffickers in Africa.

Sin against humanity. How can you be rearing human beings like chickens and goats..
And you will still go to church and carry your hands up when pastor says lift up holy hands to the Lord! Spits!

Since there are innumerable unwanted pregnancies and babies whereas some married women have been trying to conceive for years without success, baby factories will continue to thrive in Nigeria. Click on the first link on my signature to master how to make millions of naira from export business.
