The Bank-on Candidates to be Osimhen's genuine back-up especially as regards how we play in attack now...

The "bonafide" options:

- David Okereke

- Sadiq Umar

- Peter Olayinka

- Cyriel Dessers

- Kelechi Iheanacho (once that January move happens and he gets playing again and keeps showing good form)

The Dark horse Option(s); In with a chance probably in the long run if they step things up:

- Stephen Odey

- Josh Maja

- Taiwo Awoniyi

The "Manage-manage/mediocre" options (Not suited to how we play in attack):

- Ebere Paul Onuachu

- Simy Nwankwo

- Anthony Ujah

Let's be honest; Iheanacho should be under category 2 & 3 above

If you can not prove his age then what is purpose of your proposition.

It's vice versa, you can not have it both ways.

Unfortunately and shamefully Nigeria does not have OFFICIAL AUTOMATIC BIRTH DATA CAPTURE. As a consequence it is IMPOSSIBLE to have official age verification in Nigeria.

In Nigeria we rely entirely on personal integrity which knowing our country and it's value system is very very weak indeed.

We can't even have basic free and fair elections.

Consider your claim in bold and the substanceof your initial statement. i.e. " were you there when he was born "

So back to you, prove that Ahmed Musa is 27

The proof is in his passport

You are making a claim that he is not 27 what is your proof?

here are the players i need in the super eagles very soon.

felix uduokhai- augsburg cb
kingsley ehizibue- cologne rb
ovie ejaria- reading cm/am
chidera ejike- heereveen rw/lw
david okereke- club brugge cf
eberechi eze- queens park rangers am

I wonder what's taking too much time for Uduokhai and Ehizibue. We need defensive reinforcements badly. Ejike will be a wonderful addition as well but sadly we have lost Ebere Eze. Let's learn from the Tammy incident

When Nacho begins getting his consistent run of games again, I believe he will be in with a huge shout of serving as Osimhen's genuine back-up. Among the contenders, he is the one player with higher genuine qualities we seek to back up Osimhen. He just needs to get playing again.

Time will tell.

It does

Idowu can't bench those in his natural position

can't also bench a natural lb

pure and simple

how many times has he played for us after the world cup?

Rohr wanted a natural left footed player. The reason he drafted Collins and Chukwueze into team.

Maybe you didn't follow the thread then.

Odey is not even on Nacho's level. Odey still needs to grow. Nacho is behind Vardy and won't displace him in a hundred years. Rodgers won't drop Vardy for him and rightly so. But Nacho has delivered every time he has played this season. He has shown Sharpness and poise and boast the goals in the little time he's been given. His quality is higher compared to Odey. Abeg who is Odey compared to Nacho?? Odey is just starting out and not even close... Biko take ya time oooo... grin

Nigeria recovered from a goal deficit to beat Benin 2-1 last Wednesday and the three-time African champs showed resilience once again in yesterday's match against Lesotho, coming from a goal down to beat the hosts 4-2 .

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr pointed out that a few positives have emerged from the his team's recent slow start to matches and he loves the team's fighting spirit, having salvaged wins from losing positions against the Squirrels and Crocodiles.

''In some matches we didn't score the first goal, others we conceded the first goal. We scored first against Brazil, Ukraine and Tunisia in three previous matches and we didn't win, only against Tunisia,'' Rohr told reporters.

''So I prefer to concede the first goal and to win the match and it is also shows that my team have a good spirit, they never give up, they don't lose calm, they try to play well, they don't panic.

''You know we have a very young team and this young team what I like is the enthusiasm they have to play football and even if they concede a goal they don't stop.''

Nigeria's next game in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers comes up against Sierra Leone in August 2020.

See ehn... even Josh Maja gets playing time so far better than Nacho but it does not suddenly elevate him in quality above Nacho. Odey is good and still growing. Let him grow. He struggled with the U-23s not so long ago. Let him keep evolving. He is not ready just yet.

And Nacho is just "quality playing time" away from a recall. His quality as a forward is not in doubt just that we cannot call up an inactive forward over available active and performing ones and think magic will happen just like that.

At Leicester, Ayoze plays from the wing and is even a Support striker. He plays more because of his quality and genuine versatility across the Frontline. He can play 9 too if deployed there but so far Rodgers does not consider him Vardy's direct backup. He plays from the wings predominantly this season. The backup to Vardy is Nacho and it is very unfortunate.

Ayoze is onfield always as a winger and only moves into the no.9 role probably when Vardy is subbed off which is why Rodgers most times does not bother naming Nacho on the bench for games.

Rodgers is not lying when he says Nacho is a hard worker in training and gives his best. Nacho has proven him right twice by coming into two games and scoring which shows he is truly on form but just wont get the chance to play enough under Rodgers.

Let's be honest, Vardy is EPL top scorer. He is on wicked fire. Would you bench him for some games just because you want to give Nacho minutes or would you rather keep the momentum going?

Let January come quickly and Nacho will leave Leicester be it on loan or via outright sale... Whatever it is... He must leave and we will all be reminded of his genuine qualities.
