Your advice is interesting, emotion evoking but quite wrong. It is extremely polar. It suggests that the young lady is the victim. This view is quite common in families that operate a "nest" culture over a multigenerational "team" structure. In the nest model the children are the most important people whereas in the multigenerational model the family itself; past, present and future is the most important. Your way will only feed entitlement.

A better way is to have a family meeting where the girl can apologize to all family members for the hurt she has caused. Next the family puts out a statement acknowledging that wrong has been done, that the school was right to take the decision it did and that finally, the family is soul searching into any upbringing, parenting or supervisory failures that have led to this situation and that the public should give them time to find renewal and restoration.
