Imagine if it was Southgate that had gone through all this trouble.....I doubt Eze would have given him the same answer.

Why can't we understand that this guys don't want to rep Naija. Its like dejavu all over again (as it was with Tammy)

Was Keshi corrupt? Yes, he was but some of his achievements overshadowed it. Poor team selection later caught up with him and culminated in our failure to make the 2015 AFCON.

As regards Osaze, poor man management. Same with Oliseh and Enyeama.
I am tempted to agree no less with both paragraphs and ultimately the bane of Nigerian indigenous coaches.

Indigenous coaches would always speak about succeeding in their adventure but also treat their big name Players like trash.

It is always counter productive as foreigners usually earn more respect from such Players ultimately as that is what they are even used to in their oversea base

I saw the way and manner in which he took that goal. He caught the Ajax defender in possession, won the ball off him, sprinted a couple of meters into the 18 yard box and powered a fine strike past Onana. Well taken goal by Dessers. We should be looking at him and Sadiq soon enough if they keep this up going into the new year.

I understand Onuachu scored too. Infact, he would have had a brace but his second goal was chalked off. But lad is still not the genuine answer to the "Backup role" to Osimhen. Getting the best of Onuachu would mean an alteration in our playing style in the final third.

SADIQ and DESSERS should be bracing up for an invite pretty soon if they continue the blaze in their present strides.

The only alteration required for ONUACHU's continued inclusion in the SE is for him to convert himself into a KANU NWANKWO wanna be styled player given his height synonymous outlook going by the flash in the pan performance already being put up by himself so far in the SE

And that wouldn't necessarily be an OSIMHEN's replacement drive for KANU didn't play a Top 9 nor did he as a pin-point Man as Strikers are being referred.

Any suggestion for a big defensive midfielder Keshi should have called instead of Ruben?

I am pointing out that we did not have enough young players for Keshi to work with. He made up with tactics and scouting. That is why we had unknown players and players with few appearances popping up. Keshi deserved praises but got ridicule for doing a brilliant work.

Ruben was injured all season. Is Onazi who he replaced a giant? He should've taken Ogude then if he was so desperate for a physical presence in midfield.
Truth is Keshi liked the guy and believed in his talent just like many do with Nwakali.
You know his coach at Kilmarnock was surprised that he made our WC Squad?

He's no where close to having Kanu's creativity. He is a target man and we already have that with Osimhen.
I still prefer him to Sadiq at the moment tbh.

I got your point of view to mean that yes indeed and in truth, STEPHEN OKECHUKWU KESHI of blessed memories didn't get enough ready made Players nor the pool of talents that NIGERIA has now as at 2015

And so deserves more praises rather than the criticism and ridicule he is being subjected to post his Era.

Any opioniated suggestion as to why the same KESHI failed to qualify with the same setup for AFCON finals 2015 after AFCON 2013 exploits?

Could it have been because of ego? Corruption? Bribery? Poor Team selection? Il-luck? Riffs with the authorities?

Just being curious to know your thoughts on the above for I can see your unwaivering love for KESHI. Although I also Love Our local coaches too when saddled with the responsibility of tinkering the National SE but my reservation for them makes me favour foreign managers over them.

Yes he is nowhere near PAPILO in terms of creativity and I was only referencing the 'Getting the best of Onuachu would mean an alteration in our playing style in the final third.'
comment by TheSuperNerd though. And as a target Man with OSIMHEN already filling out that vacuum means the end of the road for him by my reckoning already.

I honestly and sincerely admit the better by far preference for SADIQ or even an OLAYINKA for he would put up a similar traits of OSIMHEN with his speed, good Ball control, Aerial excellence, energy passing fosight.

Ruben was so poor he played two games one as a substitute got conceded a penalty and never played another game again. He was EXCEPTIONALLY POOR not surprisingly he was released.

He went to the World cup hardly playing any competitive games for a season.

Hope Akpan was playing as a DM for Reading in the EPL at that time he is physical and did very well playing for Nigeria. However, for reasons unknown by the NFF he was dropped.

Wow Sadiq is almost top of the Serbian league.

Serbian league rated 20 in Europe what does that say. He may get an opportunity to move to a better league to prove that he has quality. It's an indication that he is improving but not conclusive.

After his disastrous outing in the Scottish league with Rangers where he was comprehensively woeful. He has dropped down a few levels and is doing well, but is it good enough. There are still questions.

Osimhen dropped from Bundesliga to a Belguim league rated 8 in Europe. He then moved up to French league rated 5 and he has kept the consistency although there is a long way to go. He has shown great progress in effectively his second season of competitive first team football.

But a league rated 20 in Europe is simply too low too make deductions of true quality. Let him move to at least a top 10 league before any real deductions can be made.

It will be an insult to players who are doing so well in other leagues rated far higher.

I think you would quite agree with me that playing in a lower League system status should not necessarily be the yardstick for measuring the quality or otherwise of football players.

For I want to believe that Our NPFL can't be rated in the same class as the 20th place SERBIAN League in Europe by any standard but it's the same League that has produced super stars of AFRICAN Ney WORLD Football before?

Besides, Some Players that can be regarded as Lions in lower or poorer clubs by virtue of their consistent outputs and displays needs International invitation and engagement for them to strike luck with bigger clubs and contract signing like it has been observed with many other Players around the world

I hope you get my point.

grin grin grin grin grin My Brother, In the beginning, I used to read several posts on Nairaland way way back until I was prompted to click and wanting to make a comment,, only for me to be asked to register first before doing so.

In fact, Nairaland became the platform that offered me the opportunity of having an email-yahoo mail and no Gmail back then.

So, I longed absent myself and forgot my password while unfortunately also lost the mail that time Yahoo account access became problematic for Nigerians and then came the Gmail popularity among others

I then later got a Gmail account but only registered back on Nairaland in 2015 after a long long time.

At the end, my point is that unless you have a passionate and spirited love for sports and football in particular before you can click on the sports button in search section of the front page of Nairaland forum now or on the Nairaland forum interface before now to go locate this thread and click on it to savour the content away.

Hence my decision to invite them in for such savouring and delightful enjoyment. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Pinnick should try and contact a player like Alhassan Yusuf in sweeden if eze keeps snubbing him. I am not saying he is better but at least, he is available and decent. i read he is the best player in the sweedish league and he is only 20. We should give him a chance and let him prove what he can do instead of chasing shadows

Haha?
darkelf! Does my comment in any way suggested any inclination to religious beliefs or sentiment?

Did I made mention of Christianity nor Islam in my post?

How can one even pinpoint the fact that those guests being referred are Christians or Muslims?

In fact, My 'By this time of the day' reference is simply saying this morning and not in any way meant the Sunday as a day of worship or whatever meaning you are trying to give to it.

No wonder Eartquake1 equally asked 'is it a Church or what' to mean whether we are in a church or why am I inviting the guests to Join in and contribute to the discuss about Nigerian football like we are doing.

One thing I have noticed is the quick misunderstanding of others relative to their comments every now and then. But I thank God for this to come up as an opportunity to air my view though.

Maybe my reply to Eartquake1 would ultimately let you know my bearing in respect to the post inviting the viewing guests I mentioned.

Thank you for your understanding.

if Godwin Imama had done well with the home based team. Rohr will not need to go round. He simply could have contacted Imama about the issue of the best players in the Nigerian league. Unfortunately Imama is suspect and incompetent. In fact, CAF introducted home based nations cup for this reason of harnessing talents in the local league. Godwin Imama just made Rohr's job harder in this regard. I am sure Siasia should have done a better job if not for the ban.
Anyway, Godwin Imama can still help him out. In my humble opinion, chukwuka onuwa of Enyimba can be a good substitute for iwobi as a play maker in the Nigerian team

TheGoodJoe:

Very few European clubs will give our coaches jobs despite how good they are.

By the way, I am glad they have pointed out that Rohr should watch the local league. He has been too poor in that respect and people keep quiet about it. Wish him the best but Rohr needs to show improvement with respect to harnessing talents from the local scene.
