How else will a phone run without a software? We were talking about colorOs in the first place undecided

No.. we are talking about Realme x2 pro vs Mi 9.
You made it about OS to suit your argument.

Of course OS is as important as hardware ,no? If I want a device with 855+, 90hz refresh rate etc, I would rather spend more money on the OnePlus 7T than the realme.

No. Hardware is more important than OS.
We can't compare a Redmi 7 with a Realme X2 pro just because one runs a better UI.
That's my argument

That's probably a good choice considering they both have almost the same spec. But we are talking about MI 9

Go for the X2 pro.
Performance
Display
Camera
Fastest charging

All that over MIUI?

Plus they promised to revamp color OS in their android 10 update.

Like say poorly optimised software never do you something. Most of us that still stick to our old devices is because the software still performs great in relation to real-life usage.

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way saying that colour OS is poorly optimised o

I would still choose Mi 9 because in as much as I love uncharted waters, I am not that brave to put that much money into a device based on a promise and God forbid I turn into a lab rat cheesy. You can buy the x2 pro and review it for us, who knows we might be convinced.

I think it's fairly rampant on AliExpress. Just wondering why nobody talks about it. I'm shopping for replacements for my Pocophone and it's my top choice hence my inquiry

You could be among the front runners by bringing it in. Personally am loving this healthy rivalry offered Xiaomi by Realme, I hope they look this way soonest too

The devs at WhatsApp are amongst the laziest I've seen. One would have thought since Android Pie was announced they would have implemented that feature.

Dem no go gree update their software bring am up to speed with the Android OS capability yet they'll be blocking tweaked third-party WhatsApp apps.

Chai, still dey wish these guys wake up, them nr get issues with design at all.

Meizu designs are really dope but they'll will never reach their potential with their crappy OS.

I wonder why they can't just pick pure Android and save themselves all the hassles.

It is not exclusive to Oxygen OS tho, it is an Android 10 feature, the system wide dark mode...it also themes the apps too

So what are you saying?

I can't speak about colour OS since I've never used it, but it's development is barely 2 years so it's still young.

What does brands like Elephone, Leeco, Meizu, Doogee etc all have in common despite their fine designs and hardware? Even Lenovo with their wealth of experience in the hardware sector is still struggling with software.

Nope, the system wide dark mode you are referring to is just for some Google apps and some other apps like Instagram and apps that support dark mode. I cross checked with my friend using the mi 9 running Android 10,nothing of sort. Another person running on Android 10 should help confirm this.

UI is important no doubt. But there is hardly a list of top 5 OS out there without color OS being in it.
ColorOS is good, MIUI is better.
UI can always be improved on, but hardware remains the same.
That's it
