JOE ARIBO is a proud man tonight after Rangers “put in a big performance” to hammer Hearts 5-0 in the Scottish Premiership. The Nigerian international was brought into the side in place of Sheyi Ojo, and played on the right of the front three in the dominant win. Speaking to RangersTV, Aribo said: “The boys are buzzing as we knew what we had to do at the start of the game, and we are just happy we were able to put in a big performance and get a massive result.” That role on the right with Scott Arfield behind him was one he relished, and he added: “I really enjoyed it. Scotty and I would interlink a bit and then change positions, which was good and I was just happy to be out on the pitch. “You want to get stats when you are playing higher up the pitch, and I am just happy I was able to contribute to the team. “The boys know how good we are as a squad, and everyone just has to step in and when you get your chance, you have to take it. “There are a lot of games coming thick and fast, so we just have to keep maintaining and building from our performances.” That Gers continued to push late-on in search of more goals was also a source of pride for Aribo, who said: “It just shows we want to keep going until the end – we just want to keep pushing, get more goals and score as many as we can in the game.” Aribo is now desperate to get his first taste of Aberdeen v Rangers at Pittodrie on Wednesday night. He said: “I know it is going to be a fast game and it is going to be a battle, so we just have to go there, earn the right to play and then that is where our quality has to come through.” 1 Like

tbaba1234: Watched the highlights. He's been learning to play differently from waiting he is pro actively participating. He looked faster, sharper his spatial awareness far better and team linkage completely on point. His whole movement very different. He was VERY GOOD today. If he continues he will get more game time. However, he can't play as a lone striker that's not his skill set, but when Leicester changed the structure going to a back three. This give more fluidity to the midfield and the wing backs moved right up playing with two upfront this enabled KC to link up with Vardy. Essentially it was always one or the other Vardy or KC. I can definitely see him getting more games it's taken him a very long time to get there. He had a good game today he better be consistent and maintain that level of performance. It cannot be a flash in the pan. He has to even improve to claim position. Because it essentially means Leicester changing thier structure. Going for a back three leaves you somewhat vulnerable. That's why the change came much later in the game. His next game very crucial. But call up back to the SE is a long way to go but he's on THE WAY. 5 Likes |
