was going through some old posts of mine saw this gem i wrote responding to the Osimhen/Solanke comparison orisirisi things wey pesin dey talk for this place grin

chrisooblog:
Solanke/Osimhen debate is straight forward really. Solanke has had years of exposure to top level football but is yet to show much of that promise. he might still come good but as of now i haven't seen him do anything which i find abit awkward considering that he should be having chances to play based on sadio mane missing alot of liverpool's recent matches and kloop not fancying sturridge that much. so it's logical that the ''hot english prospect'' and u20 mvp should be having playing opportunities but he's chopping bench. if we say we are using past glories of u17 to rate osimhen we shouldn't also use past glories of u20 to over hype solanke. at the moment based on the opportunities and exposure solanke has enjoyed he should be light years ahead of his peers but he's still not doing it. osimhen on the other hand barely 3 years ago was hawking in lagos traffic no professional exposure to football but through hardwork, talent and a bit of good fortune he's now found himself at one of germanys most prestigious clubsides. that wolfsburg is at present battling relegation doesn't mean they are not a solid club. didn't dortmund find themselves in relegation waters in the early part of the season under kloop some years back? so downgrading wolfsburg to slate osimhen as being a poor player is a bit unfair. let's still give him the benefit of doubt and let time judge. rohr has sha not been calling him up if that is what is vexing some of us. i will still give solanke time to prove us his doubters wrong but so far i'm not impressed

incase anybody wants to claim they never said Solanke chased Origi here is the Goodjoe tackling that assertion

TheGoodJoe:

Incoherent again.

Danny Ings is enough to know that is a joke quote. Even during the preseason, it was clear Origi was ahead of Solanke in pecking order.

The point is Solanke did not push Origi out. He left because of playing time and Solanke was not denying him playing time. Solanke was behind Origi in pecking order.

The point is too simple. It is a wonder how you can drag (not argue) such a simple point.

Liverpool agreed a season-long loan deal with Wolfsburg for Divock Origi on deadline day to offer the striker more game time.

The 22-year-old’s position in the first team had come under threat from new signing Dominic Solanke.

Wales youngster Ben Woodburn was also piling on the pressure, prompting Jurgen Klopp to ship Origi out to Germany.

YYou points lacks merit and facts. This is d koko.

Dominic Solanke chased Origi out of liverpool-fc and Klopp rubber stamped it by sending him on loan. GBAM! grin

Really happy for KC. After a lot of on field off field disappointments I'm glad he has started to show the kind of form that attracted him to the Man city hierarchy. Still needs game time and consistent quality performances before a return to the Super Eagles is suggested but based on yesterday's display he's not far off. Yes like Tbaba said he should perish the thought of going to Turkey at least for now. he has shown he can still cut it in the EPL hopefully this busy xmas schedule will see him get good game time to further cement his place in Brendan Rodgers team.

I also agree with what one poster said that the way it's going Ndidi might be in the running to be named Leicester city's player of the season. pray he continues to stay fit and in form

If Vardy continues to score like this and finishes as EPL's top scorer and LFC makes the top four, Vardy would be voted player of the season. Why:

1 People rate goals more. Tackles, positioning, breaking up play is undervalued

2 He is English. Yes, Vardy is English

komekn:

Osimhen is operating on past youthful glory as an U17 player, which is essentially small boys football. That as it stands is archived history of plus two years ago. No longer tenable or relevant for current assessment.

Currently, Solanke is the best player in the just recently concluded U20 World cup an accolade that is much closer to the professional senior game.

Solanke was already a regular on the Eredivisie as a 17 year old. Add to that was winning cups for Chelsea as the best youth team arguably in Europe but definitely in England.

Solanke is not just a bench warmer but a fully fledged senior team member for Liverpool.

Osimhen is struggling to warm the bench at Wolfsburg this is the reality. As it stands has he played up to one hour of football this season for struggling and lowly Wolfsburg.

This may be hard for some to digest but Osimhen will not enter the youth team of any top EPL club as it stands. If Indeed he could make the youth team of a Championship side that would be more probable but not certain.

So let's have no doubt Solanke is far ahead of Osimhen in every respect.

Nigeria, under coach Gernot Rohr, boast of the finest attacking options on the continent at the moment, according to Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles are currently ranked 31st in the world and third in Africa behind Senegal and Tunisia with Algeria, who defeated Nigeria at the semifinals of the 2019 AFCON a further spot behind in fourth.

Despite Liverpool’s Sadio Mane spearheading the Teranga Lions’ attack and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez being the most celebrated of the Desert Warriors forwards, Samuel Chukwueze is convinced that Africa’s finest attack is Nigeria’s.

Victor Osimhen, Samuel Kalu, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze and Alex Iwobi are presently Gernot Rohr’s most preferred options for his four forward positions with all five players young, fast and starring for respectable sides in Europe. Not forgetting captain Ahmed Musa whose return from an injury setback offers the Super Eagles an experienced performer upfront.

The combination of all these factors, Chukwueze believes, should drive real fear into other African teams who face Nigeria any time soon.

“The future is very bright (for the Super Eagles attack) and I am happy to play alongside them,” Chukwueze told Sports Vanguard as monitored by Soccernet.ng about playing together with Osimhen, Kalu, and Moses.

“Not only for the national team, when you go to their clubs you see that they are also doing very well.

“Osimhen has been on fire since the season began and Simon scored a hat-trick the other weekend. Kalu has also been scoring while Ahmed Musa just back from injury is doing well also.

“We have very good and dangerous attack, I would say the best attack right now in Africa.”

well Vardy scoring is a given but they might want to give it to other players whose contributions though unsung without which they won't have achieved much. The season is still far from the end let's watch how things pan out

I think Victor Osimhen can play in Manchester united. Hey Victor fans lets go to Manu page and presurize them. The need a center forward. I hope they get him instead of Halland (that boy from Norway).
Manu strikers are at worst average and at best inconsistent.

Osimhen will shine in manu i swear

Don't try it

Do you think the English will bench Rashford for him because we naija fans like him?

Absolutely not. He is better than Rashford based on current form but sentiments no go allow them see road. If Neymar leaves for Barca and Cavani leaves for China or America, I see Osimhen in PSG next year

I pity the guy. He may find himself playing in the championship next season and may even loose his starting position in the SE

How old is Dominic Solanke? Calculate.

He was born on the 14th of September 1997. 20 this year

How old is Victor Osimhen? Calculate.

He was born on 29th December 1998. 19 this year

Solanke is just a year older than Osimhen yet Solanke have achieved more than Osimhen.

At 19 Osimhen is still struggling for games yet you believe Dominic Solanke who starting banging in goals in the Eredivise at the age of 17 (18 after a month) was far from impressive, ba? Smh

Now, you are using age to exonerate Victor Osimhen, Why?

Oh! Because Osimhen is an African while Dominic is British, ba

Hmmmmm!

Who takes you seriously?

shameless man so they gave him opportunity to play so that they can get him in the shop market. See your 5 naira reasoning. We care less about that as long as nacho has been able to prove to everyone that he still have the talent and he has been able to perform each time he gat opportunity to play. 3 games this season, 3 goals and 1 assist is not a little feat. If Leicester city decide to sell him January, it gat nothing to do with his low quality but everything to do with their over reliance on vardy. Nacho is too good to be on the bench and we are very sure he won't lack any suitor in epl.

Go ffuck yourself.. Wizard of lie. I nor dey go work today. I dey here dey wait u. Nonsense.

Bros, I agree that Komekn is very biased and polarized in his views and comments

But these insults aren't necessary. I know you're passionate about the Super Eagles and KC Nacho. We all are but we aren't fanatical fans here. We are respectful and courteous fans. We are loyal fans. We are humble fans. We don't respond to issues with insults. We do so with facts and figures.

This thread is a safe haven for some of us. We come here to chill and relax and relate with one another as unseen family that we are. Not to throw insults up and down. Are you saying that you will Ignore komekn if you were to see him pass by you tomorrow and somehow you find out he is the one? No. Rather, you introduce yourself to him and hug one another. This life na small thing. Nacho dey him house dey lounge (or on training ground working hard to succeed). He no send anybody to quarrel or insult on his behalf na.

It's good that we are calling out Komekn on his continuous inconsistencies and misrepresentations. But please, lets do so courteously. I am happy that Nacho seems to have found his groove and love for the game and I hope he continues this way.

However, enough of all this insults. No one here is perfect but we can all retrace our steps when we err in our words.
