My Experience With A Yoruba Cab Man. by englishmart(m): 6:30am On Dec 04, 2019
I left home early on a Tuesday morning so as to beat every traffic holdup and be at work before 7:30am. When I got to the junction, there were over a hundred passengers waiting to get a cab too. Luckily I was able to jostle through the crowd to get a cab, though the fare was a bit higher than the usual #150 it costs to get to my destination. I told the cab driver I had #500 note and asked if he had change. I joined the cab and off we drove. When I got to Wuse (my destination) I realized the #500 I had on me was no more, all I saw was the #1000 note that was with the #500. I was nearly devastated, not because I lost so much, but because I already told the driver I had #500. Bringing out 1k was going to be a breech. I had no choice but to give him the 1k. The man, was like "Ah, mogbe, this isn't #500 na. I told told him of how I lost #500 that morning, I was a bit polite, I further suggested that if he had #500 change, he should have for 1k too, because I saw #500 notes in his wallet. He said since I truly lost some money, I shouldn't bother paying. I protested, saying that money was too much to be forfeited and offered he rather gave me #700 balance instead of #800, I was willing to forfeit #100 instead of him a struggling cab man to forfeit #200 that early. While I was yet trying to be nice and considerate, the ofe mmanu man as we people call them drove off. I was shocked there are still Nigerians who are considerate.
Egbon, na man you be.

You already know what I'm talking about. Why are cab drivers in that region always aggressive.

They shout at the top of their voices to other cab drivers. They leave their taxis to go out to fight at any slight provocation..

Sure they are. A lot of Nigerians, too are. But the bad ones are way too many, and are making the good ones seem extinct

I understand your point. I was the last passenger to join the cab, three were at the back before me. I was at the extreme left, driver at the right in front

Now you understand my point, the cab drivers in that region are very aggressive, that's why you are surprised because this one acted kind towards you, and brought it to nairaland.
Truth is, in other regions cab drivers are calm and passive.
