Sorry sharia won't work, we are more sophisticated than that pls.

Things were better in the mid 70s but Nigerians were still stealing aluminum bridge rails, overhead cables and traffic light stands. Nigerians are bad through through. Only Sharia government will work.

A combination of poverty and ignorance is not only dangerous, it is self harming

Take anything you want from the hausa man, he is much more generally more trust worthy.

Besides cows running into rail tracks, no issue of stealing of bolts has been reported on Abuja - Kaduna railroad
Re: Vandals Stealing Clips, Bolts On Lagos-Ibadan Rail Track by Prophet777: 6:49pm On Dec 04, 2019
This is one of the responsibilities of NSCDC... Let them carry out an investigations and find out where those things are being sold. Easily several arrest would be made.

When the buyer is arrested, he will help in apprehending the seller.

Seller would eventually lead them to where he got it.

Simple!

The colonialists made a mistake. No Nigerian leader no matter the tribe can correct it except they are bold enough to do the needful.
Colonial Masters of a 100 years ago, that gave you electricity and civilization, ok you want me to believe that it is because of Lord Lugard's grandchildren we don't have electricity in Nigeria?

A Failure will always find someone else to blame but themselves.

Have sharia government in the North stopped the crime over there?
Sharia should stop criminal activities, corruption and terrorism first in northern Nigeria

Nigerians are the worst set of people you can come across. They justify any kind of criminalities by blaming the government for everything.

And when you try to maintain your sanity by doing the right thing, the unscrupulous elements who make large portion of the populace label you stupid.

Just getting my priorities right now and may God help me, I would get the fvck out of the country and never return.

Hunger and lawlessness at play. Plus if we had a disciplined leadership from 1960 till date, we would have long had sufficient, steady electricity to power our trains and no goat or cow will venture there cos they'd be electrocuted. There'd also be functional CCTVs and honest, loyal, patriotic law enforcement officers that will man those cameras, arrest any would-be thief and have them prosecuted/rehabilitated. In fact with steady power supply and decent infrastructure, no one will be looking for bolts and nuts to scavenge off rail lines. They would be far more productive!

Bottom line: Nigeria has failed and continues to fail her citizens.

Although I agree with you that government has failed us but there is no justification for theft. Those people selling items in traffic might have resorted to stealing but decided to do something meaningful instead of a life of crime.

Vandals everywhere. Vandals in govt steal funds too. Can the so called MD complaining boast of clean hands? Can he look up to heaven and say 'God kill me if i stole part of the money for this railway project'. If he cant he has no right to blame those stealing bolts n nuts.
And those stealing the bolts too, please stop!!! Pples lives are at risk!!!

Don't be surprised this is organized crime from the politicians to make the government set up railway guards just like pipelines, so that they can continue to loot.

Not justifying this though but the politicians are the most wicked.

The sad irony, excusing away cruelty, deadly and dangerous sabotage against your own fellow Nigerians with your own brand of alleged injustice against Nigerians.

Where is the sense in endangering the lives of your own people and the general public just because you are poor?

Or killing people will make you rich?

And without meaning any hate speech or offence, the perpetrators of these things are from the SE. You can hate me, it does not matter. As we speak now, they are melting down stuff at owode onirin.
It is not poverty driving this. It is greed, some wickedness and full blown lack of social conscience (I dont care).

Misplaced priority is when you place infrastructure development above human capital. You don't develop infrastructure in the midst of hungry people who are govt. responsibility but have been abandoned.

The thought of those that carried out those actions could be how will the project benefit them? Most of them knew they cannot secure jobs in NRC (connection over capability), secondly many of them will not be able to afford the train fare.

I have been emphasizing that a Sane government will prioritize educating and building its citizens, who will in turn to handle the development of the country. A country cannot develop by outsourcing its infrastructural development to foreigners when its citizens are doing nothing.
