Punch is going to receive it hot. If you read between the lines, you would notice coded allegations . They are going to clamp down heavily on Punch with shits bordering on national security, insulting and cyber-stallking the president, grin, tax evasion, bribery and environmental issues against.

I'm a female grin
Sorry I didn't noticed the "F'' in pink CharlotteFlair. Garba just gave a coded statement. Anyway, punch was right and wrong on some of the issues raised. My point is,they should not disrespect the president. I assumed they don't know the power of the president and presidency for them to issue such threats. Power? Hmm!

Jubril is not concerned with all these bulls.hit.
He is busy chopping the life of his head. And by that, I mean literally. Na great luck say God give am head wey carry face wey resemble a president called Buhari. Jubril is busy enjoying his contract. Nobody chop life pass am aswear.

If anyone is pained, it should be the cabal (northerners). The northerners may be the political owners of this country. But I can authoritatively tell you that northerners are mentally backward and mentally uncivilized and that accounts for everything Nigerians are going through in the PMB led regime (administration). You would notice it instantly when interacting with any northerner. It is not about any Major-General anywhere.

Oga Garuba, first go and answer Aisha Buhari's damming accusation against you of playing ass-licker to Mamman Daura. When you do that then talk to us.

Don't look for soft issues to prove your loyalty to your oga.

I believe most people here were alive when OBJ shut down Channels tv. And also only a kid won't remember that against the court's verdict and order to OBJ to give Lagos State it's allocation for 8yrs under Tinubu's government, Baba no gree release the money ooo. Can we also remember the incessant strikes and deregulations when OBJ refused to listen to Adams Oshiomole's led NLC? Buhari is a tyrant accepted, and so was OBJ a tyrant, isn't it? It is a lesson for us not to ever vote an ex military man into a political position, never again. "Old soldier never dies" "ones a soldier always a soldier." We also tried pure civilians and its either they're still indirectly controlled by the military, money oriented or they're so weak. Until our constitution is amended into an original democratic format, that favors not only the elites, or the powerful people but also favor the media and the masses, make I no lie give una "Na like this e go dey dey oooo"...

This call for sober reflection by all well meaning Nigerians.
Buhari has become a national discourse.
He is mentioned more in the context of diverse effects and action.

I am not a secondary school student and whoever that wants to argue with me must be decent enough to engage in intellectual discourse. The question I want to ask is-if Buhari had not served in the Nigerian military and risen to the rank of major general, how would punch have described him?I think Garba Shehu made a valid point by saying that punch should separate partisan politics from journalism. It is not Buhari that punch is trying to ridicule but the sanctity of the office of the President of Nigeria which will continue to be even after Buhari leaves office. By calling Buhari president one is not only respecting Buhari as a person but also the sanctity of the highest office in Nigeria. For instance, punch will not refuse to address the monarch of Ife as Ooni of Ife even if the monarch goes against the provisions of his monarchical constitution. I urge punch to refrain from unreasonable journalism and focus more on issues that are more important. Punch has the right to express its opinions on any matter but by trying to sound petulant shows how grossly politicised the newspaper has become.

I think punch is a private news outlet and and more so a business org. Someone may had pay them well to take that risk. Let's waitt until the chips are down. For me, I personally know that punch n vanguard are sympathetic to PDP/CUPP/and any opposition to the current administration. They are allergic to BUHARI,APC,TINUBU AND THE RULING PARTY. The nation news is opposite but bit fair to the opposition. Something is coming their way but I don't know what yet.

The problem isn't the use of the title "General"
BUT
the use of "Regime" instead of Government.

Those crying evidence of freedom of speech had better think!

You are indeed the first person here to observe this critical point. Kudos.

Governments around the world hate it so much when referred to as "a regime".

It makes them feel illegitimate (or, having overstayed their welcome), and so, liable to be dissolved by domestic uprising or international pressures.

So, presidency is well wary of this and correctly afraid and possibly jittery over it.

Arrant nonsense. He deserves to continue answering Maj. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari ( retd.) Also being shown in military fatigue. Nigerians should learn a lesson. No retired officer of the Nigerian Military or Paramilitary should ever head a democratic government. They are misfits. Once a soldier always a soldier. The disdain they acquire for civilians and civil processes never leave them, ever!

This same thing you are saying now, was once deliberated after OBJ's presidency and many Nigerians agreed that exmilitary men who should no longer be allowed to run this country again, but alas Nigerians have very short memory.

I never knew that in my lifetime an ex-jackbooter like buhari would once again be given the opportunity to run this country.

I have since zeroed my mind that anything can happen in this country, even Sgt Rogers who pulled the trigger that killed Kudirat can still come back to run this country, all he needs is to package himself and pay social media inflencers to coerce online perception about him to his advantage.

I've given up!

What is incredible?

As if Garba Shehu does not believe that Buhari's primary objective is conquer all of Nigeria for his Fulani and Islamic religion using Nigeria's govt.

Anyhow, if Buhari does not drop his scheme, his Fulani may be the worst hit at the long run.

You are right, seems Femi wasn't too observant of the he effect of Punch Editorial board decision before saying what he said earlier.
How I wish a serious opposition party can capitalize on this opportunity to displace the current party.
However, the presidency will find it difficult to come down hard on punch for now(they might do in future, when the noise is down) due to the steam the heat is currently generating, attacking a media house now is something any sensible person will avoid, but with this govt, you can't underestimate the power of stupidity of despotism
