@giselle237 Asking for a friend who has a registered business but only a CAC ,company account and personal account to show for it ( no invoices,no waybills,no daily sales book). So i advised him to start making 400K payment from his company account to his personal account with a salary description . I also advised he makes cash withdrawal of 60k ( to count as his monthly expenditure) from the money to leave 340k untouched. He has been at it for the 4th month now. i hope i am not wasting his time? |

Hi. Actually I can’t speak for certainty about this route but some business people on this thread have said they operated this way and some got the visas. kenseT: |

jerome84: did you do a priority visa or just the normal standard visitor visa which takes about 15 working days? |

Hello house, I don't know if this is the right channel but I'll be glad if someone here can answer my question. A family friend recently moved to the UK on a work visa. He is planning to bring his teenage son who just finished sec school here in Nigeria to the UK as a dependent. The problem is he needs advice on the boy's education. The right path for the boy to continue his studies in the UK. He wants him to attend a college there but needs advice on the requirements. Thank you |

Am welcoming the new guys. Can one get advice as per visa visa having gotten the ATAS approval. Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 10:16pm On Dec 22, 2019 |
Kodia007: Apply again in about a few months from now (like 3 months), this time, do it yourself. I once got a visa with a closing balance of 60k NAIRA. Just be honest in your application and if possible, buying your return tickets helps too. 1 Like |

times have significantly changed... also on www.gov.uk we are told not to purchase any tickets as it will not influence visa decision Ezechinwa: |

Ezechinwa: I did normally oooooo, got the passport almost exactly one month later. Submission was 20th November, in fact I've removed my mind, was just praying to get back my passport so I don't have issues at work. |

sonofakin: How old is the boy? If he is near 16- 18....please tell your friend to quickly apply for that dependent visa before he is past the age. As for the education aspect. This is simple. When He arrive in the country he can apply to the nearest college in the city where they live in. I would imagine that the boy has passed his WAEC...neco or GCE. If yes...he can apply for A levels directly. He can also apply for a higher education access diploma. UK schools are very accommodating and easy to get into unlike naija schools that make things so difficult and there are many routes and they help students to get into school as well. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by sonofakin: 9:53am On Dec 23, 2019 |
Thank you for your reply. The boy is 15+ and yes he passed WAEC and NECO.The plan is to apply for his VISA by January. We are just looking for the right and affordable pathway for him to continue his education. Someone said he probably will need to use naric to evaluate his waec result to compare it to the UK GCSE equivalent. I am not gettiing a lot of info from some college website I viewed. Vicas2000: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by DMainMan: 11:42am On Dec 23, 2019 |
sonofakin:You dont need NARIC. Most UK schools know about our WAEC. What he needs to do here is to apply for A levels. If you have money, you can apply to university but your child will start from foundation which is one year before university. Your child can even do A level exam in Nigeria and enter university directly. https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/understanding-our-qualifications/find-a-pearson-centre.html?Country=Nigeria&City=Lagos&QualificationFamily=Edexcel. If he does Unilag diploma, he can study directly in some UK universities (https://unilag.edu.ng/?p=4629). Just concentrate on your child having dependent visa as he must be less than 18. |

sonofakin: Trust me. UK schools are not hard to get into and should not be a worry. The focus should br on getting him the dependent visa. He has less than 3yrs. A brother of mine missed out on this coz they applied too late and he was refuses twice. Everything else is easy peasy. Apply for visa fieat |

I have read some inspiring stories of people who obtained their University degrees from here(in Nigeria) and got a job in the UK from Nigeria. If you are here and you presently work in the UK(moved from Nigeria) or knows someone that works there: Is there a particular international job portal that advertises these job opportunities? And do you stand a chance having obtained a Nigerian degree certificate only? Thanks for your response. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Elderss: 7:02am On Dec 24, 2019 |
seyisanya: Hello, This largely depends on the profession. For me, my Nigerian degree certificate was assessed and found equivalent to a UK degree. |

Elderss:What's your profession and what other professions are in demand? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Elderss: 7:34am On Dec 24, 2019 |
dilodavid: Here is a link about occupations in demand. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-k-shortage-occupation-list I belong to one of the professions regulated by HCPC. While my occupation is actually not on the shortage occupation list, I was still offered a job. This means that it's possible to get a job in the UK even if your occupation is not on the shortage list. |

Thank you to everyone that contributed. We just landed yesterday at LHR (ABV-LHR) with my family on vacation. Port of entry treatment was outstanding. Merry Christmas and happy new year in advance. 8 Likes |
