When do you apply and any respond from the school concerning your admission ?

Early December, the application date was due Dec, 8 but they rejected my admission cos I didn’t pay application fee before then.

Well other schools I’ve previously applied to normally send receipt for payment of application fee, but they didn’t send me any because according to them, payment details was written on their site.

So if you intend to apply, just pay application fee immediately after submitting your application and prepare for a Skype interview too.

I can see that Lithuania don't have embassy in Nigeria. So, how can one apply for a student visa here in Nigeria?

They have a document submission center in Abuja and I think, Lagos.

Check https://www.vfsglobal.com/lithuania/Nigeria/

Hi,

I'd like to know more about the TRP as I am moving to Vilnius in January for work purpose. My employer has asked I come to register for the TRP before I can start work in February.

How can I secure an apartment (shared or single room) for a period of 2-3 months before I can look for another for long term.

Bolamike:

There are jobs in Lithuania. Most aren't just meant for foreigners. If you are very very skilled in IT and you reside in Vilnius, you are most likely to get a job if you have your TRP handy. Same goes for Kaunas, but the companies in Kaunas do some stereotyping thereby not taking in foreigners (especially third world nationals) as employees. The kinda jobs you can get here if you have the skills is at the international companies like Hostinger, Kayak, Revel Systems, Hella and so on. Most of these companies are based in Vilnius hence why the city has more opportunities than the other counties. If you don't possess any skill, then your options are limited. Probably get a casual work at the minor places like Express Market, LIDL or any other place that you might fit in.

And as for the TRP, it depends on how early you apply for it. It's always ready in between 2-3 months. For example, if you apply for your TRP in October, it is most likely to be ready in the coming January.

P.S: Make sure you come into the country with enough money to sustain yourself for like 7 months. There are no job guarantees as well, you just have to keep searching and applying.

Hi Ujules

Did you apply to Kaunas University with a 2:2 ?

I want to be sure if I can apply for Masters with 2:2 instead of applying for another BSc.

Thanks

Ujules:
For those
asking about application process for a degree, different schools vary. Just read up the application process on your schools website.

I applied for Masters in Kaunas University of Technology, I was asked to submit legalized documents by Ministry of Education and Ministry of foreign Affairs, I’ve already done that for my WAEC, NECO and Degree certificate. They insisted I must submit my transcript which has been legalized also which I haven’t done else my application will not be processed.

I asked them if my school can send it to them and they said school has to send them legalized copy (which is impossible because school can’t give me any copy to legalize aside my student copy which I have), I told them I would upload the legalized copy as soon as it’s available. I also asked them if I can proceed with skype interview and they said Yes. I did my Skype interview on 27th Nov, and on 28th, I was mailed that I’ve gotten admission but need to come with all legalized copies of my documents when I finally get into the school.

I will do that for my student copy of transcript when I come to Abuja.

On the issue of age, if you’ve gotten a bachelors degree before, I advise you choose Masters. I got admitted to do a 2nd bachelors degree in Hungary in August. Everything went through aside my Visa. The consular officer explained to me that the only reason why I was denied visa is because I’m 30 and going for another bachelors degree, and my age is too high for a bachelors degree.
Because of this, I had to apply for Masters in Lithuania.

I'll be applying to the same university too. You're going to need to legalise your educational certificates with the Ministry of Foreign affairs, and the university you graduated from ( this is assuming you are applying for a post graduate programme) will have to send your transcript directly to the University.

This is after you have been offered conditional admission though. You should however first apply with the non authenticated copies of your educational documents and a student copy of your transcript, as well as a waec scratch card. The university will then evaluate your application and grant you conditional admission if you meet the requirements. You can apply through their website.

After you have been granted conditional admission, you then submit the legalised copies of your educational certificates and your school will send the original transcripts.

You also need to have your medical clearance done. The university has a medical clearance form on their website that can be downloaded,it certifies you are in good health and must be filled up and submitted after running the stipulated tests, as well as vaccinations. You have to submit it along with your application. I'm currently doing mine now.

Hope I was of help. And we should stay in touch!

Labas, Happy new year to all, May God grant us our heart desires and beyond this year.

I noticed people don't come back to share their experience when they enter Lithuania, for those that came in Sept I guess you are coping with the system, lets always try to come back here to contribute to the thread.

Here there is a lot of slave job that people do just to survive and the health implication is high, calculate 20hrs per week X 3.5 Euro=280 euro(month pay) the truth is bitter. Just focus on using Lithuania as an entry point to EU and getting documents then start a reasonable business.
