I've been using the cheapest 20w50 for over a year and my engine still dey as e dey. No sludge no nothing. Oil was already shortening when it arrived as toks so after using 5w30 3 times I noticed it's either I kill the engine or the engine kills my pocket. I love my pocket more smiley
Car is Toyota camry 06
Lol, they want the engine to outlive them.
By the way some cars have engine but the owner couldn't enjoy it but the ones the engine pour out smoke like chimney of old locomotives still go and come back everyday.

Very funny!
Meanwhile one old woman scammed me today, picked her from Lekki County Homes ikota to Abijo estate on a 1.2x surge on taxify with two stops at Sangotedo market (30 mins wait time) & Inside her estate (20 mins) after ending the trip taxify said i should collect 1400, I told mama, i wanted to review, she shouted that was exactly the price range, told Her Mama, this is a journey of 18km, 1hr, 30mins with the traffic and stop overs, mama talk say she no gree.
Na so she drop 1500 for me rush comot. I just weak because dem don warn me say make i stay away from trouble this yuletide season.
But which kind nonsense Taxify App dey do since morning, Na so i carry one guy from Ajah come Lekki phase 1 and dem talk say make i collect 1200 even after review.
I have been shouting it here since days of long ago, the prices are already predetermined. If u like use the whole day to complete the trip or tour the whole Lagos uche and his cohorts have already told the riders estimate and try to work with that especially as everywhere is red.
Again the move is also likely to forestall drivers manipulating the fares, because like what used to obtain drivers will just take advantage of the surge to finish the riders.
They are trying to be considerate to the riders at the expense of the drivers
It's annoying and frustrating because a lot trips end up inaccurate worse part is if you review they won't do anything about it

5k to travel to IB for this festive period? Kuku kill me.

Eroticestasy charge nothing less than 20k for that trip. No need for welfare and Transport back.
I absolutely concur. What the driver is putting into the deal is his (safe driving) skill and time. The time, especially, is very valuable this season.

I will manage 5k to drive someone from Lekki to Ikeja. Manage ooo ...

The fact is your car is shorten oil bro .. The tokunbo that you bought, was likely replace with half engine in Nigeria. By the way you sound and act ,you bought the car cheap .. But in your mind u think you bought a good deal, and on the other hand the seller wanted to get rid of a problematic car ... And am sure you didnt check the mileage of the car before you bought it.. Likely the mileage was roll back ...
This are the tricks car dealers use for Mr. I know it all like you.. The fact remains the 20w50 that you are using is very thick compare to the 5w30. The bottom line is that 20w50 is buying you time . Last last you go replace that engine.. Your mechanic will tell you that he will ring the engine for you. After few months that car will become a money pit .. Before you sell it ,you would have wasted money . And out of frustration you go sell the car .. The truth is bitter bro .... Laugh now ,cry later .. Have been doing this business for long .. Experince has always been a better teacher. I could laugh now , but what is the point. Enjoy
You always believe you know it all, who told you I bought it from a dealer? And were you there when I bought it cheap. I know I have to replace engine even if I had stayed loyal to the almighty 5w30 synthetic oil so which cry do want to cry because you want to change engine. Yes I will sell the car or you expect me to use it forever? and it won't be out of frustration as you wish. Keep your experience to yourself sir, I have mine. Thanks

buying a tokunbo engine is a risk you don't want to take unless you absolutely have to because there's no guarantee you're getting a good one...

Plz leave the guy ...He bought the car cheap, didnt do due diligence. That car will become money pit trust me . If you ask him if he did a car report on the car , he will say no .. He will tell you that he brought his mechanic to check the car before he bought it ... that car was likely fix in a such way that people will buy it and would not know the fault until weeks later
Like your elantras? grin
I won't suffer the same fate, besides car is 18 months already and has made its money back so I dont know why you carry the matter for head.
And I've told you to learn the difference between assumptions and facts. Your mind is full of evil that's why you keep assuming evil. God don already pass you cheesy

Don't mind him, he keeps saying jargon about a car he has not even seen before. The car is still clean and will fly for 1.2m if I decide to cash in today

I do not think they want to check if you actually own it.

I think they require that document so they can get the necessary information for their database and generating the e-tag

That's what I think, and I may be wrong

Your comment does it for me. I think I will go with the regular mobil.
there's a new mobil oil in town, it's called mobil 2000, its semi synthetic and it's also 5w30. Price is #5500 or thereabout.

Hi, ma'am!
Please can I use 0w-40 in place of 5W-20/ 0W-20?
Thanks.
cc: dru23
if it's here in Nigeria you don't need anything 0W it's better you go for Sae 20(5w20) or Sae 30(5w30).. A 5w30 oil is an average for all weather here in 9ja..

If you are using bigger engine like Mercedes, VW, BMW, Fiat, mini Renault and GM dexos.. (you can use the 0w40 and your next service you will need get a 5w40)

This guy and his crew are always looking for gullible Nairalanders to sell their Magical Oil to! I have used xhp Mobil for 15 years on Honda Accord 03 and never did I ever had any problem with engine! Never!
Baba I sell all kind of engine oil cars, trucks and heavy duty engines.. The fact is I used to sell most of the 20w50 oil to Danfo drivers and people using Honda baby or other older vehicles..

20k??! Are u fucking kidding me?!
The rider has the car ooo he’s just to drive.

Or haven’t you heard of the new Dryva app in town? That pays driver 5k/day work?

The guy in question is yet to get a rental, so he’s not like u who already has one so you won’t understand what 5k plus other amount he’ll get from this job mean to him in the festive period.

Besides, you never can tell who could get him a car. They might have a discussion that might end in the rider either getting him a car or linking him to somebody. So don’t always see money has the only means of exchange to services sometimes sacrifice can change once life.

I don’t take this job to serious I only make sure I don’t offend anyone while doing it because no matter the case maybe this hustle can’t make one a billionaire it can only sustain one for the time being.

Wait 20k is too much? Wow! You do know he’s traveling out of lagos right?

He’s putting in hours plus a lot of inconvenience (jumping bus to get back to lagos, spending quality time with strangers etc)

I don’t know if I’m spoilt or too greedy cheesy but I helped someone drive his car from tin can island to ocean bay area in lekki for 15k with abeg and that was in September. If it were to be December walai na double i go collect.

You seem to take driving (which is a special skill) for granted. You think it’s that easy to drive safely huh?

Forget about helper bla bla bla, who go help you go help you regardless.

Would you collect 5k plus tp and welfare(max 5k) for that trip?

You sure say you be area?
