Chef2000 aka Okpalanambra the accursed vagabond from dead Abia state. Face your useless dead state and leave Anambra alone .

Every single state in SE are doing one or two mega infrastructures in their state but Abia state is still a shithole with nothing to show. I spit on you.

Yuletide: Christmas Migration Hits Industrial Town of Nnewi, Anambra State

By CHIMEZIE UMEH (ABS News)

The characteristic hustle and bustle of Nigeria's industrial city of Nnewi, Anambra state, is at its peak today, 24th December 2019, with exodus of residents, as well as influx of indigenes returning home from across the country, for Christmas.

ABS gathered that most companies and industries scattered across Nnewi closed for the year, yesterday, 23/12/19, prompting the industrial workers, and other staff to embark on travel today to their own communities and states to enjoy the yuletide.

At the garage located at Igwe Orizu Road, adjacent to Nkwor Triangle, Nnewi, commuters were seen boarding vehicles to their various destinations.

Most of the transport companies we visited were busy loading and unloading the luggage of those coming into the town and those leaving the town respectively.

At the Eastern Mass Transit, one of the most popular interstate transport companies in town, one of the staff, Mr Philip Okoli told the ABS that everything is moving smoothly, as we can see they are trying in every possible manner to come low on the charges for the baggage of their customers.

He also briefed us on the little challenges facing them in this season, as many buses were still on roads as a result of gridlock at Orji River, Enugu state and partly at boundary between Anambra and Enugu states, at Amansea.

Other mass transit companies visited like, ''The Young Shall Grow Motors,'' ''Peace Mass,'' and ''Nnewi North mass transit'', we observed that it was same bee hive of activities, as some passengers board vehicles while others disembark.

One striking thing in all the movement to and fro, is that we observed free flow of vehicles in the major roads of the town as the traffic wardens were seen doing their job. Except for a particular juction known as "Nwanyi Imo Junction", where there was a gridlock as the time of filling this report, other areas witness relative ease of traffic flow.

My God!!!
Nnewi city centre needs a total remodelling.
Like a roundabout with the mall at its centre and double lane roads at all sides.
Nnewi often referred to as "Nigeria's japan" is too local for such name.
ANSG really need to improve infrastructures at Nnewi, especially the city centre (nkwo nnewi triangle).
Bank road nnewi is a total disgrace. Those banks need to be demolished an replaced with standard befitting buildings.
Nnewi and Ekwulobia are the 3rd and 4th cities of Anambra state respectively and Obiano has really neglected infrastructure in these places.
ANSG should turn their attention towards nnewi city centre and upgrade it

Can Anambrans in the know help answer this question: what has the Obiano gov't built/done in Nnewi to help improve its livability, ease of doing business and enhance infrastructure....top 5 things they've built/done?

Too much Amamihe is what is stunting Nnewi town. They build their houses on top of roads, built major markets in the middle of the town and they are too miserly with land allocation. All the banks in that town look like bukker joints, no parking space for customers, no space for even their own bullion vans. Nnewi looks so rowdy with motorcycles meandering the narrow paths/roads with its attendant noise pollution, air pollution and disorder. If government is to fix Nnewi, 90% of the buildings must be knocked down and no state can afford to waste such huge amount of money.

I am not from Nnewi, but I hate when idiots like you bring beer palour talk into a forum for enlightened minds.

The same too much amamife is the reason why Federal government will not complete Akanu Ibiam international airport? What is the role of government if it cannot demolish houses built on sewer lines, or roads or indeed punish any crime for that matter? Like the typical Nigerian government that blames the citizens for breaking the law, but takes bribes from offenders and then refuse to implement the law or punish those who break the law? So how would America, Europe or Asia have developed if the government did not implement their laws and punish bad citizens that broke them? A good government is there to implement the law whether it is Nnewi, Abakaliki or Abuja!

I hate intellectually lazy Nigerians who simply categorize people into one lump because they are too lazy to understand that there are different dimensions to human behavior.

I totally agree with you that Obiano treats Nnewi like a town outside of Anambra state.

Basic things as intra-city roads in the city need to be tarred.

Town planning agencies should go around downtown areas and markets to ensure that no commercial building is extended to reach the gutters. Else the part of the building extended to the gutter should be demolished.

You cannot shriek your responsibility as a government that collects taxes from the area and turn around to blame the crazy landlords building all sorts of illegal extensions to their building.

To begin with, Nnewi deserves a real urban renewal drive whereby all internal roads in the city are resurfaced and tarred with side by side gutters on every road.

One thing that often make Igbos appear backward or primitive is that we fail to do things decently especially how our cities look. Our cities are replete with beautiful houses but the entire place as a whole often seem like a sh*t hole. We must change this mindset so that our people can begin to find our cities as decent places to invest and live.

A city like Nnewi that has a lot of industries and businesses should be made to look decent and appealing for external investors to find the place appealing. Not to leave it always to the indigenes of the place like the rogue military administrators of Anambra state did in the past. We are now in an era where we should build and develop our cities to look decent and stop making excuses about the government ineptitude.

It's not too late or too early for any serious government to salvage the city of Nnewi and take it glory.
All those that doesn't know better, blaming Nnewi people for making use of their brain in bringing the city this far needs serious brain check. Pun intended.

It is quite obvious that you all relish on gossips so much all in the name of typing nonsense.

What will need further and more inner roads not all these gibberish of double lane roads.

Double lane no be achievement. When all targets of Inner roads are fully met then double lane can crop up.

Just around Nwanyi Imo bustop and around Bishop's court I guess is what you guys are here gossiping like women which is obvious you have not visited Nnewi or even understand any inkling meaning or the town structure.

Men think and not gossiping like women.

If your village is quarter as developed as Nnewi you won't have time to be visiting drinking centres for gossips.

You can't live in a bush and advise people in town...

Bank roads looking like bukker junction is quite welcome because same road houses all banks you can name even up to two.....I think you should take a picture of that beer junction and drop it here?

How many banks are in your village beer parlour general?

It is too late. Nnewi has degenerated beyond redemption. The resources required to fix a quarter of Nnewi's mess can build a brand new state from scratch. There are 180 other towns in the state competing for government attention and their own development can't be stalled because of one crappy town's stupidity. That would be Penny wise, pound foolish.

If for road Nnewi get roads even the bank road and Bishop's court is tarred up to local government and down to Oba is tarred.

Moreover I understand they only sit at Ibeto Junction and Imagine when their dead villages will be like this?
