okay, staying at home on public holidays mean you enjoy Muslim festivals too? That's quite a silly take.

So for employed workers, they should go to the locked offices because they don't celebrate Christmas?

Is there any English word like "usurp" in your dictionary..let me pretend I didn't see the bolded.

In as much as one is enjoying any "opportunity" to achieve one's aim(prove me wrong if you ain't 'usurping' the opportunity(Christmas)now grin)

Why won't I be merry? Yes Christmas to Christians is about Jesus christ.

See someone that doesn't believe in magical stuff?
You that you believe that your all loving sky daddy is coming to destroy/kill/murder/slaughter wicked/worldly people because they refused to join your religion and worship God through your gb so you guys can inherit earth.

Is there any magical thinking greater than this?

Merry Christmas.
no idea what the emboldened crap means. Someone that does not believe in magical stuff? How does this validate Christmas trees and Santa? Does this mean you believe Santa exists, or you don't think it's a big deal that the Bible denounces magic?

Enjoy your celebration man. It's pagan, own it if you like it. No one is beating you up.

I would rather not assume that he will be angry if I decide to do something he doesn't command against.

I feel that it is good to celebrate jesus birthday. You cannot know more than your master.

yes oh. just like Israelites under supervision of Aaron made a golden calf and celebrating it with a tag 'festival to God' in Moses absence. God was angry with them and thousands lost their lives. Exodus 32

Who ever in the world not only in Nigeria chooses any date of his or her choice to celebrate as birthday is not normal, is it by force to celebrate birthdays, is it even rooted in any religion, must one celebrate stupid birthday? And you just said they don't know their birthday, but can you give and example of any one who knew his or her and changes it, pls?
I have never ever celebrate my birthday and will never, what happened to me

If your birthday is stupid don't think others own will be stupid too.

Millions of Nigerians don't know their actual date of birthday. They choose birthdays for official use and they celebrate on the chosen day.

We are not Israelites, we are not under supervision of Aaron neither are we celebrating a golden calf we made.

We are Christians under supervision of the holy spirit and we created a day to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Come and beat us or rather tell your jehovah to come destroy/kill/murder/slaughter us for doing what he didn't command us to do or rather what he didn't command us not to do.

Jesus Christ wasn't born on the 25th of December, but 25th December was chosen to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So what's wrong with it?
Absolutely nothing is wrong but wouldn't that be doing what you weren't instructed, If the Bible is to remain the constitution. As like Moses, touch the rock he stroke it instead. The two actions were close but got punished still. Now Christ specifically recognised His death & instructed the memorial. Could He have forgotten His birth if it was important? He also mentioned the end of a thing been better than the beginning, what was He thinking? Personally, I think people are successfully replacing Christianity with custom & tradition of men. And are doing so with a specific interest. What then do you say about Christmas Carol, Santa Claus & the use of red & white as the celebration colour? If you study closely the teachings of Christ & what He holds value for, you will notice that His death marks the beginning & the end. If celebrating His birth is a Christian practice even though not instructed. Then the woman "Kings mother" that gave birth to Him should also be celebrated & idolized.
Paul once said, some consider a day special others say everyday is great. Let all be as long as it is into the Lord.
Best regards.

It's been more than 2000 years since he was born, we should be more concerned about His second coming! This is very paramount. He said "pray that you may be counted worthy to stand in the presence of him when he comes the second time"

so always be prepared ,because no one knows the time

Lol! I feel they are highly delusional and paronoid. True that his birth isn't as significant as his death but then even wise men travelled donkey distances just to honour his birth. Surely that ought to mean something

also, god and his angels celebrated it in the bible

Luke 2: 13 and 14
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men

as for the day, well bible says whatever you consider bound on earth is considered bound in heaven

If offices are locked because of security reasons in the area (for example), we'd still all stay at home. It's not a 'dividend' in anyway, as I'm not even one who hates my work and is looking for opportunities not go. I work from home sometimes, and today is no different from yesterday or the day before. Why arguing whether my Lord was born on December 25th or not -
Which day was Cancer born? Yet the World gives Cancer A Day to celebrate it as WORLD CANCER DAY.
Which Day was Diabetes born to earn it World Diabetic Day?
Which Day was GIRL Child born?
Which Day was Labour Born to make us celebrate Labour Day Worldwide?
Which Day was AIDS born?
Which Day was Father born and we now celebrate Father's Day?
Which Day was Mother born?
Which Day was Children born before we began to declare Children Day?
You never argue on any of the Days declared by the United Nations to celebrate diseases and Infirmities:
IT IS SHARE IGNORANCE AND KNOWLEDGELESSNESS, THAT WOULD MAKE A MAN TO ARGUE DEDICATING ONLY ONE DAY TO CELEBRATE THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.
I don't care if Jesus Christ was born on December 25 or not, even if it is on April 13, I care less.
But the Whole World have decided to chose a day to celebrate the Birth of the King of kings, Lord of Lords, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Why arguing whether My Lord was born on December 25 or not. While we chose to celebrate His birth on 25th December, you are free to chose your own date, and buy Christmas Tree and organise your own Carol on February 10.
Thank you Jesus Christ for coming into this wretched World to die for me that I might live.
And I look forward every year to Celebrate YOU on the Day we all agreed to celebrate Your Glorious Birth.
Merry Christmas, Lord Jesus!

Well more points on Jehovah's witness..we don't celebrate because
1.There's no biblical backing stating Jesus was born on Dec 25
2.Jesus never in anywhere said we should celebrate his birthday nor did he celebrate it himself
3.Go and check Wikipedia this Christmas celebration it's no biblical it's from there pagan origin

If you don't believe this... Argue with your phone

1. the fact that jesus was born is what they are celebrating. as for the day, well bible says whatever you consider bound on earth is considered bound in heaven

2. well god and the angels were the first to celebrate christmas when in Luke 2: 13 and 14 it says:

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men

I'm not deputy Jesus. I just don't like the hypocrisy in religion. You have borrowed a lot from other religions but are trying to pretend the reason you have christmas trees and easter eggs and santa is because you love Jesus. Be honest enough to acknowledge the roots of your beloved festival. Don't condemn the religions you borrowed it from while stylishly celebrating their festivals with another name.

Yes bro..now,did Christmas celebration came to you suddenly? Isn't it what you already know it's gonna come b4 today(irrespective of your religion)?

In as much as you're a Christian, you're a partaker in Christmas (whether you celebrate or not)..now these are reasons why Muslim think christians are divided.

Rev 19:17-21
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

It is taught in Islam that if a Muslim imitate the ways of the unbelievers he or she becomes one of them especially, matters of religion. In this regard celebrating birthdays is from the non-Muslims and therefore not our portion. We use birthdays as age counter and other important purposes, and also to avoid innovations even if they are classified good which quite cool in any other religions especially, Christianity.
So birthdays are good and important but, it's celebrating it is not and baseless.

Colossians 2

Alive in Christ

6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22Which all are to perish with the usingwink after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
