Hello all. I want to share my experience writing IELTS in Amsterdam. I scored L. 8, S. 8, W.8, R.7.5. I didn't prepare at all for the exam because I got a good job here and had decided not to pursue Canada. I tried to get a refund from British Council but they don't refund you unless you're sick or someone died. So, I dragged myself to the centre; make my hard earned €231 no waste. For Listening, be super attentive. Answer the questions as you hear the convo. Also, get ready to hear all the Western Anglophone accents -- British (I got Northern and Southern English, no posh Eliza accent), Australian and American. I struggled with the Australian accent and it was the section with a map reading. I was like hey gawd! The writing section is about wide use of words and proper writing styles. Pay attention to the word count and make sure not to write less than the stipulated word count. Think WAEC. The reading was boring -- something about fish or some other animal. I suffered through by skimming and scanning. You need to be more patient and attentive than I am. The answers are hidden, sometimes you have to infer. The speaking was okay. It was a nice English man. The time keeping initially threw me and I mumbled my first sentences and stumbled over pronouncing "narcissist". Chai! After that I took a deep breath and thought of him as another nosy stranger having a convo with me in my native language. It became easier. Just keep talking until the time beeps STOP. That was it, guys. I'm grateful for the result, even though I don't know if I will ever use it. Might jump in the pool to taste the waters. Who knows tomorrow? 17 Likes 3 Shares |

I have gotten the whole shocking info concerning embarking on fleet Management course in Nigeria as a prove of two or more certificate. Thanks my gurus in the House who advice me not to waste my money. The info I got read thus: When evaluating higher education credentials from the United States, for example, WES uses regional accreditation bodies to determine institutional recognition status. If a university or program is accredited by one of the United States’ six regional accrediting organizations, WES can also evaluate the degree as accredited. When determining how to evaluate a credential, experienced area specialists from WES perform a holistic review of all information available. To decide whether or not WES can evaluate a credential, specialists must first determine whether or not there is a comparable program in the country of equivalency (the U.S. or Canada), so they can perform an accurate evaluation and comparison between education systems. For example, regionally-accredited recognized institutions in North America do not offer formal academic programs in indigenous medical systems. This means that WES does not evaluate study in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, or other similar programs because there is no comparable equivalency in the U.S. or Canada. Area specialists also research whether or not the program is academic or career-oriented in nature. Because WES only evaluates academic degrees, WES does not evaluate the United States Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) credential, short-term certificates, job training, trade qualifications, career development programs, or other certificates of this nature, as they constitute occupational, rather than academic study. WES also reserves the right to not evaluate documents from certain institutions. 1 Like |

Lagoscooldude: She will have a higher CRS score by 10 points assuming same IELTS score for both of you as a result of her age. If you don't have ITA by the time she finishes her PhD, then that's extra 14 points for her, up to 498 assuming max IELTS for both of you. This will cost CAD100 if she has completed WES evaluation for her MSc by then! Do your research, gather your monies, and your documents and you might be in Canada by January 2021!!! 7 Likes |

Hello Brethren, I just received my IELTS results and I'm in sifia painsssss. LRWS: 8.5 8.5 6.5 8 6.5! I think i was overconfident or i was exhausted and made alot of typos. I wasn't even worried about the writing i only had issues with speaking because i got nervous during the test and my mind went blank like twice. Should i apply for a remark? It was computer based. At all at all i should have gotten a 7. I'm so sad my holiday is ruined |

Hello folks, Happy yuletide to us all. I am about to start this EE journey and I just created my WES account. I want to do same for my wife but I am confused as to if I should use her maiden name or my surname. We got married in September but all her previous credentials are in her maiden name. Please I will also like advice on what should happen on the maiden name/husband's name matter as regards international passport, IELTS and the other stuffs. |

She can use her marital name for the WES and other documents (int'l passport, IELTS) then she does affidavit, change of name in newspaper publication and marriage certificate. tubabainc: 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello house, While waiting for the response from my previous question, I wanted to ask about NYSC. I did not have to list it as part of my work experience since I have more than 5 years work experience post NYSC. However, I want to know if I should list this in my personal history? If yes, what type of activity should it be listed as? Currently, I have recorded my NYSC period as unemployed because I am not sure I will be able to get a reference letter from my PPA. Is this ok? Thanks |
