Ndibunna: Actually, ignorance is not an excuse. I am not the first to point out the wastage of resources when it comes to "airports". There are lots of articles by aviation experts if you bother to READ: http://www.woleshadare.net/white-elephant-airports/ "New Telegraph reported recently that by the time airports in states like Bayelsa, Ekiti, Abia, Osun and Ogun are completed; some states would have invested over N150 billion on aerodromes that may not significantly improve their economies. Some of the airports that have been inaugurated are currently unviable as they witness little traffic." https://punchng.com/mad-rush-for-state-airports/ "Of the 25 airports managed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, experts say only the two in Lagos and Abuja are viable." https://www.thenigerianvoice.com/news/283258/airport-project-fancy-misplaced-priority.html "The same is playing out in Nigeria when some state governors are obsessed with the idea of their states owning their own airport. States like Osun, Ekiti, Gombe, Ogun, Zamfara, Nassarawa, Anambra, Abia and Bayelsa have gone bonkers in their bid to build their own airports without the thought that such a project is worse than a white elephant project." https://thenationonlineng.net/dangerous-crave-for-unviable-airports/ "“They should set up industries before embarking on building airports, which to us all, are to serve the opulent lifestyles of few elite. State governors must first address the poor state of the roads, dilapidated hospitals, schools, lack of water, sanitation, unpaid salaries still bedeviling these states. Regional approach to infrastructural deficits should be initiated. States should not go to capital market or issue bonds to build airports.” 2 Likes |

Mechionu, you are not making any sense here, those states with airport do they have more industries than Anambra? Why are you here deceiving yourself? Ok now the project is ongoing, what shall you do next? Si ebe puo, you have nothing reasonable to say. [s] mktinsight:[/s] 2 Likes |

mktinsight: And my answer to your research is simple Anambra has the population and all it takes to Carter for her airport. Lagos has the population plus business activities. Anambra has the population plus business activities. The only reason you crying more than the bereaved is because the airport will affect the fortune of other airports and probably your state own. Don't bother about the traffic, let Obiano complete the airport first then the traffic will decide for itself whether it will stay or die off which me and you already knows the answer. Your research is myopic based on few states not what they have on ground. I don't know why anambra airport is generating so much heat why not allow Obiano to finish and let's see how viable it will be. Your point is Invalid and defeated. 2 Likes |

Please, allow a man to determine how his father's house should be built... If Anambra wants a city airport, it's absolutely their choice and the best you can do is to wish them good and go your way simple. My only issue with Anambra is that they think whoever criticizes their way of reasoning must be from IMO STATE. .. No sensible man disturbs himself with the affairs of another man....I really wish they know this 1 Like |

Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by XANDERBOY85: 10:54am On Jan 02, 2020 |
mktinsight: Your argument is flawed abi-initio because you base it on the present Nigerian political-economy that has Lagos and Abuja as centres of gravity! If Nigeria is restructured or dismembered, all airports in the south-east and south-south (existing and planned) would be viable in their own right! |
