How does electronic payment helps reduce ATC &C losses?? Most Discos before this unnecessary directive already use electronic payment channels, so what are they saying sef... It is technical loss that should be looked into.

one would expect them to leverage on the prepaid meter system to reduce over-billing customers and people will be able to recharge at convenience just like buying airtime or data.

The Buhari junta clearly majors in minors. Impracticable and useless policies from A to Z.

What stupid reasoning do you have to blamefg here.We know employees of nepa/discos steal collectable bills by various methods. Now government has to think for the discos ways to minimize the leakages and here you are blaming government.

Unless someone is just being SILLY, every non- zombie- right-thinkinig person understood what GEJ said in that context. Its like saying to a non educated grandmother... "Mr. Tinubu Orji Buhari na CORRUPT man" than telling her... "Mr Tinubu Orji Buhari dey STEAL". Which will she readily understand?

You're the stupid animal here. Take a deep breath, and perhaps you would eventually realise how foolish you are for believing that it is the duty/priority of government to THINK for private businesses (DISCOS).

Quote me again and leprosy would destroy all your fingers.

Minor?

A change that will increase accountable revenues by billions of naira. Money that these privatized discos cannot steal - money that ensures that they must comply with the privatisation terms and invest in infrastructure.

This is minor? My goodness.

I am certain that if not for the selfishness and wickedness of our leaders present and past, we should have light 24/7 in Nigeria.
A country without stable electricity is an archaic country, am sure Afghanistan that they are fighting war has light more than Nigeria.
Please when you see me laying curses on politicians just free me, I have my reasons...What a country!!!
yes we have a reason to lay courses on our politicians and rightly so. But whilst doing that we must be patriotic by protecting our country. For me I hate our politicians and love my country. Non of the politicians is more Nigerian than me.

God bless my country

A good one but it shouldn't end there.

Prepaid meters should also be made available and accessible.

This would force concerned stakeholders to upgrade their game in power supply.

Agreed. Not that somebody will randomly get bill for 15k when I hardly see light (I'm not at home during the day, and there's no light when I get home).

If something is sold by the government does not mean it will not be regulated by the government and please who is to make provisions for the meters government or discos,if u think government will make the provisions then why is it private?.......is nigerian government the one constructing network mast for telcos?then why should they provide meters.

The biggest error about our discos is the way it was sold in the first place the previous government sold it with out making sure people buying it can improve and modernise it.....GE(genereral electrics) bid for it and lost because of patronage politics and we are all bearing the cost now.
