. A Second Lieutenant earns about N120,000

. A Lieutenant in the Nigerian army collects about N180,000

. For a Captain in the Nigerian army, the new salary is N220,000

Sadly, it is very true. Even those who are fighting Boko Haram, the meager allowance they pay them is really shocking.

This country is so messed up. If the soldiers are collecting peanuts, that means police and other paramilitary officers will receive next to nothing as salary.

Abeg, post Nigeria police own.

This new salary regime is shockingly poor. How can they manage life with such pay and how can the much needed motivation and morale in action especially those fighting Boko Haram be got. Government should pay the least member of the armed forces and police N100000.

It is not just about the pay. For the heroes who lost their lives in the fight against insurgency, their families are usually neglected. The government don't even care to know how the families that the heroes left behind are faring except for those who died as a highly-ranked personnel. I really feel for the widows and children of those who lost their lives who don't usually have anyone to support them. Indeed, Nigeria is not worth dying for.

The salary of a Soldiers & that of police are very poor. It is One of the major reason they collect bribe without mercy.
