I think u should have more opportunities for Jobs because your prospective employers need not suffer to sponsor your residency, I stand to be corrected though...

Accommodation is very cheap in Deira but it's not a good place to live while searching for job.

Its been a long time i came here.

Nobody should get discouraged coming to UAE to search for jobs, we all have different luck and our preparations differ. I have a friend who got a job in jumeira beach hotel as a waiter, he is a fresher in dubai and he got the job by applying online under 1month.

I have another person who got a job in Sharjah Airport travel agency( sata) as a ticketting officer, he did an international course in nigeria bfor coming, so he was able to secure job, though it took him 2month, 2week to get the job.

I have some guys who got helper, security and i have some that have gone back to nigeria without securing any job.

All the above happened this past 4months

Its all about prayers, preparing well bfor coming. It will be wise to get some international certifications bfor coming here(for those who can afford that)

Thanks for your advice.....

Im a telecoms/network engineer with 6years experience on Ericsson and Huawei GSM, WCDMA, LTE, Microwave Transmission, SDH Transmission, and intermediate knowledge of Cisco switches and router.....

Im planning of moving to UAE, even though thats not my final destination. Pls kindly advice......

Giftdavid712:
Just remembered Nairaland and this thread after a long while.

My previous handle was https://www.nairaland.com/giftdavid711 . I forgot the password so I had to create a new account today.

I posted about moving to Dubai in 2018, how I secured a job with 23,000 AED base salary and a good relocation allowance.

Everyone here said I was getting SCAMMED or I was lying.

Well, update: I moved to Dubai, I love it here. My current base salary is 29,000 AED and I have received tens of thousands in bonuses over the last few performance review cycles at my company. Even more awesome is the flexible working schedule.

I read some of the last few comments on this thread. I will give the same 2cents I gave almost 2 years ago on this thread.

Pick a field that is in demand and spend several years trying to be one of the best (absolute or relative). It is not easy, but it is an investment in your self.

What is a lot harder is coming here to work in a sweatshop.

The internet is free, go to bed every day more knowledgable than when you woke up.

Don't be quick to move ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

PS: The above is trite, but holds regardless and applies to knowledge workers mostly.

Let me know if you have any questions. I DON'T provide any jobs. The best I can do if you are a highly skilled engineer is provide a recommendation.
Re: QATAR AND UAE GENERAL VISA ENQUIRIES Part 3 by glowingflame7: 11:35pm On Jan 06, 2020
I'm sure you know that you cannot legally work with a visit visa? Also, don't think it will be 200k, passport and passport photo. The government is not stupid.
Re: QATAR AND UAE GENERAL VISA ENQUIRIES Part 3 by Kingchineme6(m): 7:26am On Jan 07, 2020
Please my fellow Nairalanders help me, I came to Sharjah in UAE on the 1st of January 2020 with a 3 months tourist visa.

The agent that did the Visa told me that they company I suppose to work is on holiday because of new year now since holiday have finish he's not even talking about the work again.

I asked him yesterday he told me that the job is pending because the company haven't contacted him yet.

Please I need a work before my 3 months visa elapse, please if you have any work or any company looking for workers please let me know.

God bless you in particular kiss
God bless Nairalanders
God bless Nigerians
God bless Africa
God bless Sharjah
God bless UAE

Boss i don't really have that much idea about sira. I just know its a requirement for security job which is almost always available but it seems they dont employ Nigerians in ADh. I dont even know if you'd need EID card.

Just ask guys around and then check ds link.

Wish you all d best

Call this people when you're through with this course. Usually, they say they dont recruit Nigerians. But i no 2 working with them. If they consider you they just send you out to less discrimininating areas

How did your certificate authentication go? Come and tell us oooo.

Hi,

I wanted to keep mum cos I'm really sad and depressed about this country.

But...

I will share my experience cos it might help someone.

To be honest,

Nigeria is messed up.

Like really really messed up!

The earlier I leave the longer I will live!

I hope things will change in the future.

So, after getting to ministry of education in Abuja,

They insisted on seeing my original WAEC result which I politely told the lady I lost it but I have a scanned copy and also an option to print out through WAEC portal.

She said NO!

When she saw the frustration and anger on my face,

She said they can accept confirmation of result sent directly from WAEC through courier.

Meaning I have to go back to Lagos..

Can you imagine ?

I felt really bad and my hatred for this country increased by one thousand percent.

I left Abuja that same day around 2pm, got to Lagos by 2am. (I know it was a risky journey but I'm ready to risk anything (legal) to leave this country)

Next day,

I went to WAEC office to request for confirmation of result which cost me #5,000, courier charged: #2500
Affidavit : #3000
Passport: #1000

Then comes the shock of my life when a clerk in WAEC office told me they won't touch my application till next year.

I was like what da f...

Luckily for me, I have a sister working in WAEC office I contacted her and my application was processed same day and was sent to Abuja next day.

"If you don't know someone in this country you will suffer"

Strangely I just lost interest in going back to Abuja.

Like is this really worth it ?

But hey I will be be travelling this month or first week of February.
