Barryseal:Cannavaro was adjudged the best player at the 2006 WC, Matterazi scored their equalizer in the final, Grosso scored the winning penalty, Pirlo and Del Piero scored the decisive goals in the Semi. Do you mean cannavaro doesn't deserve it just because he didn't contribute to any of the goals? Is that how football works? 1 Like |

More rubbish. Bia this man are you this dull? Even after reading, you still type nonsense as if you read nothing at all. First of all, it was 3 assists out of Emenike's 4 goals. Not 4 out of 5. Gerrit?? Emenike got four goals at that AFCON and Mikel was responsible for creating three. The brilliant pass that found Ideye and clipped into Emenike's path. The one vs Burkina faso and the one vs CIV. Secondly, the first freekick goal by Emenike was assisted by Mikel (as already stated) who rolled it cheekily into his path to hit. That is an assist mister man. But it is clear it is only the goal you saw. You didn't see the action leading up to such goal. Lol. So yes... Three of Emenike's goals had Mikel written all over it and there is nothing you can do about it. These and many more displays, chances created, commanding midfield control were traits of Mikel's World class showing at Afcon 2013 and there is nothing you can do about it seally. tbaba1234:So you rate Mikel ahead of Moses, Emenike and Enyeama? Not to talk of Mba whose direct impact won the trophy? Do you know Mikel's penalty miss against Zambia almost jeopardized Nigeria's chances to progress to the quater finals? 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:So it was Mikel's assist not Ideye against Zambia? Is there another definition of assist in football? We now talk about who passed the ball to who made the assist just to let Mikel shine. You want to credit Mikel with an assist for the free kick Emenike scored against Ivory coast from 35yards, why? Because Mikel rolled the ball 2 inches? That's what the most influential member of the team does not the guy who actually blasted the ball from 35yards but we hail the guy who rolled it 2 inches for him to blast home. How cheeky is that? 1 Like |

Kufor played up to the champions league finals where they lost thanks Ole Gunner solsjare last minute goals in 1999, Bayern clamined the champions league title the following year which wad the same year Afcon took place. 1 Like |

Barryseal: Mikel and Victor Moses in my opinion were the 2 most important. Ofcourse, there were other crucial players. In the business end of that tournament, Mikel was the man. You forget Mikel had a match saving tackle around the 85 minutes that could have seen CIV equalize. He outshined Yaya Toure in what was seen as a direct contest between the two.. 1 Like |

Lol.... You can try but it does not dminish the truth. Messi rolled the ball to Suarez from the penalty spot by just fee meters and Suarez scored. That a Messi assist for a penalty kick. Same Happened with Mikel who rolled the ball a few meters for Emenike to get a good strike on goal. I can see you dont know football because if you do, you will know Emenike would not hace scored that if not for Mikel's short kick pass. And agajnst Burkina Faso... Mikel was written all over that goal. His brilliant lofted ball into Ideye who clipped it for Emenike to tap home was a brilliant second assist... As effective as the goal itself because without that genius of a pass we will see no goal mister. So you see? Without Mikel, there would be no Emenike for Top scorer... FACTs you cannot beat but only bark at. Lol Barryseal: 1 Like 1 Share |

Lol.... Who doesn't know?? Does it then mean he won it for 2000?? Abeg don't be dull man... be smart please. Mane was just awarded the CAF APOTY this year in January. Does it mean he is the 2020 CAF award winner? Was it not for 2019?? Goodness!! Bayern winning the UCL in 2000 had nothing to do with Kanu's APOTY win in 1999. Period. Barryseal: 1 Like |

Newcastle United are working on a deal to sign 2017 England U20 World Cup-winning winger of Nigerian descent Ademola Lookman, according to Sky Deutschland. RB Leipzig signed Lookman from Everton last summer but he wants to move onto pastures new six months after due to a lack of first-team opportunities. Assuming the move comes to fruition, the former Charlton Athletic wonderkid will spend the remainder of the 2019-2020 season on loan at the Magpies, with a subsequent purchase option inserted into the contract. The 22-year-old cost RB Leipzig 18 million euros when he was acquired on a permanent basis in July 2019. He has logged 200 minutes in all competitions so far this season - 131 in the German Bundesliga and 69 in the UEFA Champions League - making only two starts. Lookman, who has four and a half years to run on his contract with RB Leipzig, is managed by Nigerian agent Emeka Obasi. |

Club Brugge star, David Okereke, has said that his attention has been drawn to an online publication that he is being sued for an alleged breach of contract and denied signing any contract with the claimant, Henry Ajamah, to manage him. Ajamah, a football agent, had approached a Lagos High Court for an alleged breach of contract suing Okereke in the process. The Nigeria U-23 International, Okereke, who spoke through a telephone interview, said Patrick Bastianelli, is his agent and not Ajamah. "I was a minor in 2014, how would I have signed a professional contract then and Ajamah is not a football club to sign me. "I signed my first professional contract with Spezia FC of Italy in January 2016 at this time I have the liberty under the law to decide for myself who is to manage me, " Okereke said. Respected Italian intermediary Bastianelli used to look after Odion Ighalo on behalf of Atta Aneke while the striker was playing for Udinese. The former Spezia starlet said many of the claims by Ajamah in the said publication are false and asked Nigerians to disregard him. Okereke said he has directed his legal team to sue Ajamah for assassination of character and for putting his career at risk with his falsehood. The Dream Team VII star said Ajamah has collected nothing less than N2.5m in batches as compensation while he was in Spezia of Italy. |

Thank you for repeating this. I said it ooo in my Epistles but it's obvious these lots chose to keep reading something else. Lacina Traore was so close to stealing an equaliser but Mikel amazingly scooped the ball away before Lacina had the chance to shoot at an exposed Eagles goal. This and many more influential contributions saw Mikel emerge from that tournament a legend to remember. People wanna change history but it is impossible. tbaba1234: 2 Likes 1 Share |

No way, Emenike stands influential over a man he fed off from all tournament several of which he squandered sef. Mikel was the man indeed. Finito. Barryseal: 3 Likes |
