Recall when news made headlines of Umahi warning aides during swearing-in, to refrain from commenting on 2023 elections as such act would attract sack? Well, the governor just gave life to his threat after an overzealous aide of his govt and a Senior Technical Assistant (STA) on media to the governor, Monday Eze, went against that instruction.

Monday Eze had written a post on Facebook where he accused the Senator representing Ebonyi North, Sen. Sam Egwu of plotting to go third term in the senate by supporting governorship to go to Izzi.

His post is believed to have wrongly accused the senator who has not mentioned such ambition to anyone, and also heating up the Ebonyi polity.

It is believed that Monday Eze being from Ezza in Ebonyi central was just expressing the view held by many Ezza people of the state that since power has gone round the senatorial zones, that it must not necessarily start from the North again but that any part can contest and in fact, it's their turn.
