Jake gyllenhaal is one of my favs tbh....me and Jeromeblack was having an argument a while back...lemme crave your indulgence and ask do you think Jake gyllenhaal is Typecast?

i don't think so.

i've seen him play a grieving father, a detective, an art critic,a cop, etc.

i ve never seen him play a specific role multiple times.

he's very versatile.

although he tends to brood a lot, he's got that kind of face and personality i guess.

Murder on the Orient Express-

I definitely did not see that ending, which is why Agatha Christie will always be my all time favourite mystery writer.

Death on the Nile is coming out this year too. It has the vibes of the movie you mentioned above.

With WB splurging about $205mn on an Original movie, how risky is this. shocked

Is Chris Nolan brand worth that amount on an Original flick?

Seems WB are extremely confident in this project; the last 2 DC Movies budget put together is not even up to this.

Anything less than $650mn gross is a fail. undecided lipsrsealed

This movie is the only serious movie WB hopes to bring in the bucks this year..doubt if it will gross up to a billion dollars because it is independent in production but it's gonna do well in the box office..i for one am tired of all these superhero kpishan kpishan movies...i want to see real life issues told in a sci fi futuristic way with stunning cinematography and C.Nolan is certainly the man to deliver on this.

Yep, I'm aware of that.

It's just that Original movies haven't done so well at the box office in recent years. Moreso, spending that huge on an Original flick from scratch is very risky at the moment— Not including massive marketing. Even Interstellar isn't that high with a budget of $180mn and over $800mn gross.

It will have to do Interstellar numbers to be profitable, in a time where Original ideas hardly sells that's almost insurmountable with such budget. That's one reason you see studios churning out prequels, sequels and reboots every now and then. The reason you'll keep seeing Disney churn out Live action remakes for a long time.

Although Nolan is very bankable, let's wait and see.

Nope, it's not the ONLY movie WB hopes to bring in money. That title goes to Wonder Woman 1984. It's singularly WB's biggest contender for $1bn gross.

There's also Kong vs Godzilla and Dune to bring in some major bucks. But yeah, TENET seems a bigger bet to make more money than these 2 I've mentioned. I think it'll make about $750-850mn in the box office. Just that that budget is risky for an Original movie these days. It needs at least around $700mn to be profitable.

Too bad superhero movies ain't slowing down now, and there's more to come. Also, next year WB are pushing out a record 3 superhero movies, which means DC films has become a more integral part of the studio's box office haul. Moreover, between Aquaman, Shazam and Joker they earned about $2.6bn.

Also, superhero genre has destroyed virtually all movies that came in it's path for the last 1.5 years worldwide— both in North America and China. Think Venom(not dominant in North America), Aquaman, Endgame, Joker. grin

After WB's other franchises disappointed lately ie Godzilla, Fantastic Beasts 2, IT Chapter Two. And DC films over-performed in the last 2 years, it's only sensible to tow that route. That's why you'll see at least 3 DC films a year from 2021. grin

Let's wait and see by years end to know if WB other franchises still remain resilient: Conjuring Universe (have been Uber successful so far)— Devil Made Me Do It, Monsters Universe— Kong vs Godzilla. grin
