that's a black mamba, very potent venom which kill within 20mins, a drrop is enough to kill 20 fully grown adult men, it is expected since you have a poultry, you can't really prevent dem from coming but you can atleast get snake traps or plant a particulr leaf called taba leaf it wards dem off

It's not a black mamba ooo, that's a cobra. Because it's black doesn't make it a black mamba. FYI, the body shape of a black mamba is different from a cobra and thank God it's not found in Nigeria, black mamba is only found eastern region of Africa and rest of the world.

Lol, google the pictures of a Black Necked spitting Cobra and see the under belly for yourself. Some have yellow and some have red under bellies.

Look for bitter kola , remove the back and generously throw them around your poultry.

This is not a black mamba. Black mambas are not black. It is the insides of their mouth that gave it that name. It is a red-bellied snake. It is not that venomous.

check the scale of the OP's snake and that of the black...spitting cobra and you'll know they ain't same

That is a 'West African Forest Cobra' it is very deadly and a poultry terrorist, buy plenty bitter kola and place them inside and around the poultry, the snake is allergic to the smell of bitter kola.

you can do away with snake with onions

just slice onions around the poultry most especially the corners

or you will have to plant what yoruba called "eewe taba" around the poultry. I don't know the English name of the plant.

killed exactly this type in my poultry too years back. After several attempts to catch the culprit. My mum actually found it trying to digest a full grown broiler, around 4am. I use rake kill the bastard, but not without a fight as the mad thing dey throway spits grin

That's a red-bellied snake. It's not venomous but they could constrict their preys.

I wonder why someone who has seen the snake's stomach lining being "red" and still calls it a black mamba and illiterates line up to support him grin grin grin


Olodo youths, that's not a black mamba. A black mamba is grey in colour, sometimes light brown, others could be black but rare.


When you wanna kill or corner a black mamba, it opens it mouth and keeps hissing. The inside of its mouth is very black; it is trying to tell you to see inside of its mouth, that it is black and it can kill you; move away from me, don't come near me, I can kill you, I don't wanna kill you, I won't chase you, just go your way or else I would bite and inject venom inside you.


Even a normal human being, when he or she or even any animal sights its mouth, moving away is the best option.
